You have been doing really good comparisons. I am sure there are 1,000 ways to look at different bike. What about the Pivot trail 429 assuming enduro build would be more of your style
Thank you I haven't ridden the 429, the last Pivot I rode was the last Switchblade. The current 429 looks pretty similar to the Evil Following but the seat tube is less steep and has a shorter reach on the 429. Seems like the Pivot geo is a bit old which is a regular criticisms of Evil, but the Evil suspension is part of what makes the Following so good.
Nice job, and nice comparaisons! Owner of the following and a ibis mojo but testing the 5010 , and a littlebbit Tempo. Right Wight U : the New 5010 IS a better on steep and tech trails, more managable on jump, but i found the following rolling faster than the 2 others and a littlebbit bit better on cornering. Like u said, it dépends on your terrain : rolling terrain, flow and DC terrain---going with following . Steep, tech more enduro terrain, go with the 5010. With thèse bike, you Can build them more burly ( fox36 140/enduro wheels/coil) but why not buying all mountain bike ( Hightower or Offering for exemple) at the end?
Waiting for your review on the purple bike behind you!
Haha, just picked it up. Coming soon!
I love my Following v3 and can’t imagine ever selling it. Nice to see you comparing these three. Glad I dont have to go buy a Santa Cruz now 😂
😅
merry christmas everyone!
And Happy Honda Days! 😁
You will appreciate the new Optic long shocked with a lyric or 36. The bike really shines with the aggressive build!
Good to know, I've been trying to get Norco's attention.
I had the following and loved it! Is there a Hightower video on the way? Cheers
Sure is! It's my next longterm bike and the initial review should be up in early January.
How bout the smuggler though? Would it be too much like the spire if you had both?
I own the spire and smuggler. It’s honestly a perfect combo.
I felt the Smuggler rode bigger than I wanted, but yeah I would say the Smuggler and Spire would be a great combo.

The headset cable routing on the commencal is a no go for me.
I agree and it makes that head tube junction ugly.

Agreed, I tried to keep the 5010 light and in its lane even pretty light wheels and tires. I've got the Nomad for more aggressive terrain.
