Adding a diffused flash has completely transformed my macro photography.
Well demonstrated here.
I love using my diffuser when out and about taking shots of flowers, plants and a few little critters. Thank you for your video on this subject!
Absolutely amazing. Great demonstration of this and I'm already thinking in how I can play with this idea.
Thanks for the tips. I particularly like the use of flash for enhancing water drops.
Thank you for another amazing video Andrew
I enjoyed your quick and concise video, Thanks.
Another good one, Andrew. Looking forward to the next.
Such an inspiration. You have motivated me into the world macro photography. Thank you sir. Keep up the great work.
Thank you so much, Tim, that's an incredibly kind thing to say!
Awesome stuff!
Brilliant as ever. Can you provide a link to where you show how to setup and use the off camera flash please?
First thank you for sharing. Second you have inspired me to start using my flash more in my macro shots. Love both shots but really like the feather.
Thanks Jeff!
superb video and beautiful shots. Can You please tell what flash do you use?
Your Videos are just awesome 😊
Learning lot of things about photography from you.
Thanks so much!
👍👍👍🙏
Hi Andrew, I am enjoying your macro photography in particular where you use your flash. Can I ask what settings you use get the black background, I’d like to try it out.
Hi Erich, for that shot in particular I think my settings were ISO 100, f/8 and 1/100 shutter speed. But it was a dark and gloomy day so it was quite easy to overpower the sun with those settings. On a bright sunny day you might need to use a faster shutter speed, a narrower aperture and a more powerful flash setting. As with any photography, there is no 'one setting' that will achieve the effect, so you'll need to experiment to see what works. Enjoy!
@@AndrewLanxonPhotography thank you, I will play around with my settings
Amazing video, love it. Just discovering this channel, and I am pleased I have!
What flash do you use by the way?
Keep it up! 👍
Thank you so much! I usually use a Godox AD200 for my macro work
Point convincingly made. Feather w/dark background could easily be mistaken for a shot taken in a studio against a black background, IMO. Shutter speeds increased using flash, but speeds still not faster than sync speed, correct? Hope you had that nice hot cup of tea after this shoot. Cheers!
Cheers Paul! Yup I think around 100th of a second so well under the sync speed. At f8 it was enough to make a dark shot, given how gloomy it was outside.
