I've played four other unmatched sets and a few things: 1. I am super-psyched for Moon Knight and you made an awesome preview video. 2. Items are new to this set. The other boards don't have them. There are even some fan made boards. The rest of this is just nitpicking FYI on the finer points of gameplay. 3. You're supposed to draw before you move (the card you get might change your plan). 4. If a timing conflict arises, the defender resolves first. Thank you for covering this game. I'm looking forward to this and the future Marvel sets.
Yes! I haven't tried him in marvel united yet, but I feel like MK being represented in this trio really made him shine. Thanks for the info about items and gameplay fixes! Shoot, I totally messed that up because drawing first definitely changes a ton of decision-making for sure; would love to know your thoughts about items if you ever get a chance down the line! Thank you!
Beautiful & creative production as always! I've still never played an Unmatched game. I'd like to try, but my wife isn't into head-to-head games. Hopefully I can play at a game night or a convention in the future. Great video 🔥❄
ah that's fair! i was surprised at how quick it plays so maybe that might convince her down the line! Definitely try it out some time Billy! Thanks friend!
I’ve played unmatched with four people several times. I own both battle of legends packs and cobble and fog. With that, I’d argue four player matches are a lot of fun and extremely chaotic. Because you are worrying about several different characters you can never anticipate the next blindsided attack you may take. Personally I believe three person matches are the perfect balance of chaos and strategy.
Cobble & Fog and Battle of Legends Vol 2 are the best sets so far, but I’d argue the upcoming Hell’s Kitchen has the most interesting three characters. Items are only in the Marvel set, each set has its own “board gimmick” like one way routes, secret passages, and elevation. Bruce Lee is good, but as he’s not as cost efficient to buy as the four player packs (and no board!) I’d suggest starting with one of the other packs first.
So glad you enjoyed Unmatched! My copy of Redemption Row is on its way now and I'm super hyped for Moon Knight! I'd say you may be into the characters in Cobble and Fog! It's a great set
Bruce Lee is a blast and one of my favorites. I'd also highly recommend Cobble & Fog. All the sets are amazing in their own way, but C&F is so perfectly balanced.
Love your videos man. Also love the fact you like moon knight. He's my favorite since I was like 12. I collect his comics lol. And the fact he's getting his own show is Amazing! Side note: I dont know if you take recommendations but the boys and I have been playing Nemesis and oh man is it fun. I would love to see a review or a cinematic video on this game. It's super thematic and visually very cool. Also it's a very well made game. Keep up the good work man.
ooooh no I thought I didn’t need this set, but it looks so fun! thank you! I’ve played at 4 and it was still super fun, still pretty snappy :) #teammoonknight love the diff personalities
Great review as always, I've been wanting to see the cards since I haven't gotten my set yet. I own all the sets except the Buffy one and can say that Unmatched has become my favorite board game. I just love how simple yet super strategic this game can be and the fact that everyone I show the game too loves it. You can actually play this game with 3 people, and I have even played with 6 with a custom board I made but I think that the 4 player count is the best way to play because it can create some unique combinations. It allows a team to pick 2 characters that can help each other with their weaknesses such as using a ranged hero and a melee, or just going all out with some heavy hitters like raptors and Bruce Lee and the time between turns is nice because I like to think a lot about all the possible outcomes and form my strategy with the hand I have. The items in this set are interesting because its the first time they released something like this, There are teleporters in the cobble and fog set, doors in the Beowulf and Little Red set, and +1 bonus tiles in the Volume 2 set which all work really well as just passive effects that can be utilized by everyone, but no consumable items like in this set. I agree with you that they should be able to be picked up and used, I even added consumable that can be picked up to my custom board. But the Marvel sets are the only ones with these consumables to my knowledge. For your next set I think Cobble and Fog, or Unmatched Battle of Legends Volume 2 are great and they both have a 4 player board, but Bruce Lee is my favorite character and is a must have, but honestly all the sets are amazing. Also if you are interested there is a website called UnmatchedMaker which is used to create custom characters, and there are about 3,000 decks on there so you can find pretty much anyone you would want to play in this game on there. I highly recommend taking a look if you would want to print out a custom deck or create your own, or look up KielbasaSlinger if you want to see my decks :) Sorry for the long comment but I love playing and talking about this game. Also I'm team Luke Cage for sure but Ghost rider is a close second!
oh wow your favorite?! That's high praise! I can definitely see that though because the system overall works, and I love how characters can drop in and mold their own perspective on the game! OH my goodness, hearing your thoughts about player count REALLY makes me want to try at 4p; it just sounds like incredibly fun teamwork at play. I did try the doors, and I thought they were ok, but the teleporters in the cobble and fog set sound really really interesting. Thanks for the tip about the database-I had no clue! Will definitely be looking up decks after loving redemption row! You are going to LOVE luke-he's insanely strong!
Yes! I think I messed this up during the mini gameplay, but you definitely draw first, and you can absolutely use that drawn card to then boost your movement!
I love Unmatched. My fav characters are Raptors, Robin Hood and King Arthur. I really hope Unmatched expands to its origins which were Star Wars Epic Duels. I would love to see Darth Vader fighting T-rex....
If they did someday make a Star Wars set I think it should be Darth Vader, Han w/Chewy as his ally, Boba Fett, and Luke w/ maybe R2D2 or C3PO as an ally. I would 100% buy that set.

Agreed. Production on Tim’s video are always top notch. I got a little burned out on Unmatched but the Marvel twist has reinvigorated me.

One quick thing, when two effects in combat would trigger, the defender’s trigger would happen first.

Excellent review with exceptional quality in explanation of rules and cinematography 👍

hahah! This is the set that finally made me cave! oh wow, i'm definitely going to have to give it a shot at 4 for sure then! #TEAMMOONKNIGHT!
I can't believe would Moon Knight attack his sister Misty like that! 😉
I had to think about this for a second hahah! i was like wait...misty isn't his sister! you got me!

You definitely need to get Cobble and Fog. 4 characters which are all very unique and have a wide range of tactics and abilities
New co-op mode unmatched adventures is out soon too
Question Tim. Do you draw first then move when you maneuver? I ask because I wonder if you could use the card you just drew to boost a movement.
Yes! I think I messed this up during the mini gameplay, but you definitely draw first, and you can absolutely use that drawn card to then boost your movement!
Thanks for the clarification

Is there any gameplay content coming for this or Marvel Champions? 2 player please
I'm gonna play Moon Knight vs Jekyll & Hyde, Bruce Lee vs Luke Cage and Beowulf vs Ghostrider.
Amazing visuals
My group play Unmatched all the time and I think all of us prefer this game as a 2v2 game
ahhh i can see that! Definitely going to have to try this at 4p!
This is the first set with items. Odd that they don't let you use them whenever...
4 player is very different. Personally I prefer 1v1 but the characters take on entirely different strategy and synergies in a Free for All or 2v2.
Great video. Unmatched is awesome.
right? I'm so late into the game, but it's epic!
Great!
Love all your content 🙌
Is it just me or does the intro feel like it starts at 5:25? 😬
Thanks friend!! Ah haha I included that intro a little later to break from the gameplay! 🥳
