  • Wisconsin’s Green Bay is a walleye fishing destination second to none. That goes double for the early spring when countless walleye make their way into many tributary spawning streams that pour into Green Bay’s western shoreline. The Fox, Suamico, Little Suamico, Pensaukee, Oconto and Peshtigo Rivers all see significant pushes of fish beginning in late March and stretching into early May. Anglers seeking fast action converge near these river mouths with fishing rods in hand. Casting bucktail jigs, jigs dressed with plastic swim-baits and lipless crankbaits all catch fish consistently. When you fish Green Bay in the spring, you never know if your next bite will be a two pounder or the fish of a lifetime!
