I was thinking about getting a turtle & then my friend offered me her daughters,it was in a small fish tank that was really dirty and barely had any water,I bought a 10 gallon tank from Wal mart for $15, a $10 filter,$10 basking rock with stairs , I just need a UVB lamp & I’ll be all set
I agree with those who say the 10 gallon is too small for a turtle. I use a 50 gallon tote that I bought from Lowe’s for about $32. My red eared slider turtle has lots of room to swim and she loves it! But I know she’s going to get big! You should check out turtlegirl’s UA-cam channel! Btw love watching your content!!
Hey, just some advice.the betta that is laying down, looks very sick. You can see by how his tail and fins look. Also the fact that he is not active. Is not normal.
I suggest getting a stand that completely supports the bottom of the tank. The sides hanging off means uneven support and could cause the glass to crack/shatter
Casual..... u can use that stand if u put a solid 1" thick board under it.... you are NOT cycling the tank, its empty. Cycle starts when animal in tank starts to pee & poop. All tanks look better if u put a solid background behind...Never put any tank in front of window. Temp fluctuates and algae will b a problem. Didn't u learn that with your big tank in your bedroom? All cheap filters suck, but I'm not familiar w what you bought. Keep kearning. Dr Rudy
I would definitely get a bigger tank, turtles love as much room to swim as possible, so I would fill up a 20 gallon to the top, and build an “out of tank” basking area for the turtle. And that would be for only one turtle. They’ll need around 75-120 gallons as adults so I would only get one. They are a huge responsibility and are extremely needy Pets. Good luck!!! :)
I really enjoyed the video,Since my dad is comparmised ammune system patient he can't be around reptiles or rodants so I bought plastic toy turtles(9 pack) along with some gravel and I have a clear bucket (Abt 5 gallons) It's just for looks but yea I would still be cleaning it since all of the dust on the products (Yes I will wash them even though the turtles are fake lol) Because I don't want it to be foggy,I bought them from Amazon Here is the links if you have the same idea gravel: Petco Brand - Imagitarium Blue Jean Aquarium Gravel Toy Turtles:Wild Republic Mini Turtle Polybag, Kids Gifts, Educational Toys, Reusable Bag, 15Piece Edit:sorry links don't work :(
You don't need substrate in the tank turtles are messy and substrate will just make it harder for the filter to filter everything out of the water and also put a background on the tank it helps the turtles feel more at home in the tank
I came here for a quick tank setup check and instead got to watch a video of a fish that I couldn’t give 2 shits about just so this dude could monetize the vid 👍
you should get a 40 gallon tank, the tank you have rn is a good size for a baby turtle but freshwater turtles can get up to 7-8 inches espcially if you get a red ear slider (most common turtle). But 40 gallons is a minimum most ppl get a 75 gal -120 gal
Ge ONE pantied turtle or ONE red ear slider but what ever you do don't get two turtle the bio loud with to turtle in a 10 which in reality is 5 gallons because the tank is half way filled you setup look over all good. No hate to the people in the comments tha don't anything about turtles but don't let people pressure you in to geting 2 turtles love your vids keep them coming
First video I've seen from you. I like the info and talking because I'm looking to learn more as a perspective 10 gallon tank mom (idk what I'm putting in it yet) I'm very interested in owning a turtle and clicked your video to learn more about turtles so the off topic beta fish section segment was a tad annoying. But that's just one viewers opinion. Thanks for the content anyway I appreciate what you're doing here😊👍👍👍
Hi just saying your not ment to use declorinator for fish your ment to only use declorinator for turtle only and thank you for explaining everything in detail it really helps me .
I am almost 100% sure you live in my neighborhood. (Wedge Wood) And I am looking to switch my 10g fresh water tank to a Saltwater reef. Any suggestions when it come to equipment or even local stores you could recommend, would be a greatly appreciated. 6th Court Neighbor
🐢 I have a red eared slider they are so cute but they do grow big, soon we will be donating it to a turtle reserve so she can be happy in a big place. Had it for like 18yrs.
For babies you want just half way filled like you did and for adults you want a 40 gallon to 145 gallons and filled all the way to the top and you do want rocks or safe sand for the ground
Christian Rix a musk turtle (I think that’s what it’s called) or painted turtle or red ear slider is a good option I have one as my first one and it’s good you can get a red ear slider if you like big turtles that grow fast
I'm not sure but the way the dragon scale moves maybe he has a broken tail or hips just like my betta and he died after a week But this is my opinion maybe it is wrong but hey i'm just tellin you
A painted turtle or an Indian spoted turtle would be cool 😎 but only get one for a ten gallon. This setup won’t be able to house a turtle long term. Be ready to upgrade soon.
Hello I am not trying to hate at all I just want to let you know that the uvb light bulb you got for the turtle is not a very good one I know from personal experience and the turtle may get mbd so just to let you know love your videos!
Film when you tour the underground facility! Great stuff I would only get one turtle. If you need more advice checkout my 110 gallon turtle pond for $200
Guys I need a little help lmao! I want to buy a turtle but I don’t want one that’s gonna grow BIG! I want one that will stay kinda small you know! Someone please help 😭

you would do better with a bigger tank, but the turtle does have a better life now.
Yah

You’ve done a collab with Carson’s Aquatics. He’s a beast with turtles. Just reach out to him. He’ll let you know on everything turtle😂
Carson doesn’t talk to him anymore for some reason.
Lower the like 3inches down and then it will be very good
thank you

Ya know, I like it when you talk about the things your doing. I know most people don’t, but I wanna know the information
Get a musk turtle, they stay relatively small and can do we'll in a 20 gallon tank.
They need minimum 6 sq ft.
Thanks man you helped me out so much I wouldn’t know what to do if it wasn’t for you
Nice video man cant wait 4 the turtle and the video love ur content man keep up the good work one day all ur hard work will pay off keep it up
I came here for a quick tank setup check and instead got to watch a video of a fish that I couldn’t give 2 shits about just so this dude could monetize the vid 👍
You should get sand and a cave for your turtles but make sure the cave is easy access and you should get a few more plants
you should get a 40 gallon tank, the tank you have rn is a good size for a baby turtle but freshwater turtles can get up to 7-8 inches espcially if you get a red ear slider (most common turtle). But 40 gallons is a minimum most ppl get a 75 gal -120 gal
The commentary is good for context and information so I say keep it in.
Awesome video mate, tank looks amazing, can't wait to see the little ones, thanks for the shout out
Most ppl get sliders, but they get hugeeee. I suggest a musk turtle as they stay small and are dope turts.
Dope indeed. I have one.
@@Taniere I found a baby slider a few day ago and decided to keep it. I'm about to set up a aquarium for it.
You should upgrade to a 20 gallon tank. Also stinkpot, musk, mud turtles do really well In a 20 gallon tank
I think it’s the filter for the betta that’s pushing him down
Nice
Alligator snapping turtle!
Ge ONE pantied turtle or ONE red ear slider but what ever you do don't get two turtle the bio loud with to turtle in a 10 which in reality is 5 gallons because the tank is half way filled you setup look over all good. Make sure the floating dock/water level is 6-8 inches below the lamp/top because its a 50 watt.
Love it! But make sure to get a bigger tank as the turtle gows
Hi just saying your not ment to use declorinator for fish your ment to only use declorinator for turtle only and thank you for explaining everything in detail it really helps me .

Nice simple tank setup 👍🏻
Thanks so much, hopefully you subscribed and watch some more of my videos 😃
It is simple
🐢 I have a red eared slider they are so cute but they do grow big, soon we will be donating it to a turtle reserve so she can be happy in a big place. Had it for like 18yrs.
For babies you want just half way filled like you did and for adults you want a 40 gallon to 145 gallons and filled all the way to the top and you do want rocks or safe sand for the ground
It’s funny cause it’s not actually a starter kit he made it. But it cool
I think he’s saying the reptile store had it set up like a starter kit
Turtles need 10 gallons for every 1 inch of their shell.
👍
I would get two turtles so the one doesn't feel lonely
Sorry but that tank can’t hold even one turtle and turtles don’t m get lonely
My turtle tries to eat the fake grass
We need more people like you fun and exciting, oh yeah by the ways can you get 2 turtles so 1 turtle doesn't feel lonely?
The tank is small
Yah mines a hatchling and it’s in a 40
turtles are introverts and prefer to be alone
Amazing vid love your vids 😁 You should get 2 turtles a 🐢
To turtle for a 10 is way to small
it would be cool if you added white sand
Get a African side neck because they are so cute. But you will need to upgrade

Legend
We want an upload, We Want An Upload. WE WANT AN UPLOAD!!!!!!!!!!☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️
Also the betta at the bottom has swim bladder infection
I find that substrate is very messy and hard to clean. I recommend a bare bottom for the tank.

Need to lower the water a little bit to make it easy for the turtle to climb
A painted turtle or an Indian spoted turtle would be cool 😎 but only get one for a ten gallon. This setup won’t be able to house a turtle long term. Be ready to upgrade soon.
Filter?
What is your dog? My grandmas dog looks just like him but we never knew what he was
Hello I am not trying to hate at all I just want to let you know that the uvb light bulb you got for the turtle is not a very good one I know from personal experience and the turtle may get mbd so just to let you know love your videos!
Water too high need like some river rocks at the bottom and decorations

The Tank Is Too Small For ANY TURTLE BABY OR NOT. The Flow Of The Divided Betta Tank Is Too Strong. Slow It Down By Adding Plants in front of them.
Get a red eyed slider turtle and get two of the so that they don't get lonely
It can only live in a like a tank that size for like 2 weeks
You should use that curved tank not he floor in your room for the turtle
Yellow belly slider
Put the water level down 👇
Get two painted turtles
A ten gallon is way way to small for to panted turtles and the tank when.set up is going to be 5 gallons because it's halfway filled
MUSK TURTLE
Spiny hill turtle
Casual 10 gallon is too small for any turtles even for a baby one
I would MAYBE keep one hatchling in a 10 gal for MAYBE a month. Definitely gonna need to upgrade.
