Don't let this distract you from the the fact that in 1966, Al Bundy scored four touchdowns in a single game while playing for the Polk High School Panthers in the 1966 city championship game versus Andrew Johnson High School, including the game-winning touchdown in the final seconds against his old nemesis, Bubba "Spare Tire" Dixon.
I'm a bigger lady and I literally laugh out loud at AL Bundy. This was before everyone was offended at everything. Ed O'Neil is a really nice guy in real life. You should check out the interaction between AL and Peg his wife. That's hilarious.
I went to see “Married With Children” being filmed 8 times between 1988-1991. Living 80 miles from Hollywood back then I went to see lots of tv shows being filmed (The Golden Girls was the best experience), and “Married With Children” always attracted a rowdy and happy crowd. Oddly enough, lots of parents would bring their pre-teen children! There were always fat people in the audience who laughed really hard. You would need to have a good sense of humor about yourself if you were willing to go see such a notorious show being filmed. I was there when Al told the fat lady with black curly hair that her shoes had a 2 ton weight limit. She kept blowing the scene because she kept laughing. Many of the fat people who got insulted were writers on the show, or comedians and actors. They knew fully well what they were getting into. This show was so huge that just getting a guest spot (and getting insulted) could be a huge boost to your career.
Lmao I remember my teacher made a comment to be nasty to me once. She said something like "what if I said all Puerto Rican wear bamboo earrings with their names in em". I was like 13 of 14 at the time. I literally just said "wait? You know my cousins?" Lmao
When shows like this existed, we were much kinder people. Maybe because this show gave us an outlet for the daily stresses of life by letting us watch people in a fictional show say and do things to people we could only dream of in real life. I'm gay and overweight and loved every minute of this show, although my favorite character was Kelly Bundy especially after about season 3 or 4 when she got even dumber. I wish more would do a reaction to Kelly Bundy. Although I don't see many videos about Kelly Bundy's funniest moments. I do have the whole series, so maybe I will make a compilation of Kelly's funniest moments in my opinion.@@Mike-rk8px
I loved Married With Children growing up. It is definitely not about a shoe store lol. That's just where Al works. The majority of the show takes place in their house, and Al is usually the punch line. Congratulations on the baby btw 🎉

The show is about Al Bundy & his family (wife & 2 kids). His neighbors, a married couple, are a big part of the series also. They do show a lot of scenes in the shoe store where he works tho. Love this show. I just rewatched the entire series not that long ago.
There is an episode where Al is in a store to buy Peg an anniversary gift. Another customer is there also to buy a gift for his first anniversary. He chooses a cheap picture frame explaining that they want to save their money for more important things. Al then tells him, "There is nothing more important than your anniversary" He then goes on to explain how it's just between the two of you etc. Anyway it's very heartfelt and wise

Ed O'Neil who plays AL Bundy was the only actor to appear in every episode of Married...with Children during its entire 10 year run totaling 263 episodes
One of my favorite episodes is when "Santa" was parachuting into an appearance at a new mall and his chute didn't open, sending him plummeting into the Bundy's back yard. This should give you an idea of what this series was like.
If you watch the show, you’ll see that Al’s life is a living hell in every way. So the only thing he has left are his insults and nobody on the show was belittled or demeaned as much as he was lol it was a great show
Yes. In the states people try and walk out of stores with a new pair of shoes on. I've seen a couple of people cornered by security until the police arrived.
This show ran for many years it's about a dysfunctional family. Shoe store scenes were a small part over 12 or 15 years of TV. A rare show still funny in reruns over and over.
Hey. You reacted to a video I put together. Fantastic! I saw the name and thumbnail and instantly knew what you were watching. The show was so much more than the shoe store. A few episodes revovled completely around the store. A lot of episodes didn't have the shoe store at all. Usually when they used the store, it would be for a scene or two to break up the plot/story happening at the house. Thanks for the video. It was fun to see your reactions.
These 'Best Of' Married With Children clips don't do the show justice. The full episodes are hilarious. There's a two part episode where the Bundy's go to England for the first time. I recommend it.

Married with children was a great comedy in the 80s, all the shoe store scenes were not every week episodes. The show was on for years and it was a great comedy. America could still laugh at it's self then.
This is just the shoe store sections when he's at work...most of the show takes place at their home and it's just as funny. There are some episodes that also take place in other locations but that's much less common.

I would suggest checking out a full episode or two. Not all of the jokes were fat jokes. There are many fat jokes and this shows a lot of them. There are also many jokes that are put downs of Al, and many jokes centered around his children not living up to his expectations. The pacing of a full show will make it more worthwhile. Still a fun reaction.
The show mostly takes place in the family home. It will have some clips in the "Mall" at a cheep shoe store where he makes a low wage. Hardly make a living. Wife, Peg ...Daughter,Kelly... Son,Bud. Neighbors he makes fun of.

Probably MASH, but Married with Children was an awfully good one.
Al bundy is an American icon. And a high school football legend. Also, deep down way deep, he loves his family. Just an everyday joe.

This was real comedy back in the 90s.. you won't see it anymore.
It started in '87 so it teeters both decades
You mean the 80's into the 90's.
I think anyone can understand that it was comedy not real life.
You will do soon. Fox is said to bring it back in 2024....with the same antics, flavours and dynamics that made the show.
