This is an outdated video, made it back in 2022, and he even hit those numbers with my improper usage of him
Diluc may not have as high a ceiling as other characters like Raiden or Ayaka but he's very good at dishing out consistent damage and pyro application. (also DRIP) His strength is as an on-field DPS of course but you can build him as a Burst DPS. I've even seen him healing with his burst.
This is an old video though, he can really hit much higher numbers than this now, especially with xianyun.

Just hit my first 200k damage with diluc yesterday. My one and only 5 star at ar52 but thats all I need

He was my first 5 star and no offense but he is terrible. Even my xiangling with less investment consistently did better damage
