    I didn't see the clay-up in the previous video, and yet you have a ko-choji hamon. Did you skip that part in the last video, or how is this hamon possible without clay?

      Most Ichimonji swords are tempered without clay. The reason why Japanese sword makers fail to produce authentic copies of jsko je Yamatorige swords is the fact that they use clay to render the choji. There are exceptions, like Masaya Yoshida. Or Sugita Yoshiaki, who unfortunately has already passed away. They work without clay. Then there are the excellent works of Ono Yoshimitsu, which are made with clay. It is the pinnacle of this technique (using clay to create hamon), but it is not an authentic Ichimonji.
