    Heathers interview on Hidden True Crime with Dr. John and Lauren Matthias from a year ago was absolutely fascinating. She had been a part of the Daybells family since she was 16 years old when she was dating Matt. She is no shrinking wall flower, and Chad always struggled with her being a strong freethinking independant woman. I think he felt emasculated by her. She also spoke of Chad's mother in the household. She was pretty much treated like a servant. Females were considered "less than"....

    I was "conned" into attending one of Chad and Julie's conferences in 2015, so before he met Lori. A friend had come to town for the conference and talked one of my kids into attending "a potluck picnic" claiming it was a gathering of people who had all lived in a particular place, and we might see friends we hadn't seen in a number of years. I then talked another one of my kids into going as well. It was a picnic in the park as billed but not a gathering of people as it had been explained. They were talking end of world stuff and earthquakes; they actually said it was all going to happen in September 2015. I decided not to eat anything, I'd brought my own drink, I was good. They also said we needed to wrap our cell phones and laptops in aluminum foil or put them into a special box so they wouldn't be destroyed by the fallout. We were told to pack our bug out bags and be prepared to walk up into the mountains of Northern Utah, so the date and place changed after it didn't happen in 2015. We had ridden to the picnic with the friend so we couldn't leave. The actual conference was at the University the next day. The adult child I had talked into going to the picnic opted out and I had planned to skip it as well, but my other child intended to take her infant and attend with the friend, she wanted me to go help care for the baby, so I ended up going. They were talking about their near-death experiences, and it was all so bizarre that I ended up taking the baby out and hung out in the hall for most of the day. Later in the afternoon, they persuaded me that I had to hear the keynote speaker which turned out to be another bout with Chad Daybell. After the conference was basically over people broke up into smaller groups outside and some were getting and giving blessings on the grounds of the university. totally out of the norm. A lot more went on but that's the jist as I recall it. As an aside , I've also eaten at the Texas Roadhouse in Idaho Falls. It all creeps me out! I decided to not attend any other events. When all of this broke in 2020, I called the daughter with the baby to confirm that this was the same guy. She texted me a flyer from the conference, and yes it was. She had also attended other events and bought several of his books. Run, Forrest run! So yes, I've followed you and this case since 2020. Keep up the good work!

    The Daybell’s and the Cox family allowed their children to carry on with dangerous nonsense while silencing and tossing away family members who voiced their concerns. The police and church also ignored the pleas of family members who tried to get anyone to listen. As a society we have a duty to protect people against evil.

    • @audrieking7109
      @audrieking7109 6 місяців тому +18

      I was thinking about this very thing today. We are always saying that Chad and Lori were the perfect storm because them coming together led to all this. I think theboerfect storm went behind them to their families. The Cox and Daybell families had that toxic loyalty, which created a bunch of problems until more of the truth came out. Not to mention the Gilbert Police

    • @kateashby3066
      @kateashby3066 6 місяців тому

      As a society sure, but these ppl are all narcissists and they don’t care about society. They care only about theirselves. Chads pop sounds like a narcissist too. Chad is likely his favorite (the favorites usually become the narcissist children). Hence why he covers for him and basically told Heather to shut her pie hole. Narcissist parents consider their children as extensions of themselves (not autonomous individuals) so they take it personally if you mess with them.

But its says more about them as people than about their faith. Chad said, “Tammy came downstairs and said she was feeling unwell.” I strongly suspect she may have been sleeping upstairs, ie they were sleeping apart. If that comes out, Chad is toast as his ‘story’ about waking up and finding her dead beside him will crumble. That’s why Pryor keeps going on about it - he’s trying to deny it before the prosecution even questions their sleeping arrangements. Also, I’d bet Lori (in her warped mind) would make sure that Chad would not be ‘lying with another woman’ after they had been ‘sealed for eternity.’ I don’t know if this will ever come out, but I strongly suspect Chad and Tammy were no longer sharing a bed.

      It was an odd moment. She just drops that in there to make herself look like a victim. Bet she's been doing that her whole life. She claimed Joe molested her children. She told her family Charles was cheating on her. I wonder how Adam felt when he heard that she'd told police he was trying to kill her. At her sentencing, the judge mentioned that she'd been diagnosed with narcissistic personality disorder, which confirmed my earlier suspicions that she was a narcissist. I read somewhere that they often accuse you of doing whatever it is they are doing. She accused Charles of cheating while knowing she was sleeping with Chad. She accused Adam of trying to kill her while she was conspiring to kill multiple people. So sick!

      He will have an expert forensic coroner for sure to say Tammy died of natural circumstances. I'm not sure what type because it wasn't anemia but he sure is trying to make that one happen so maybe it will be that and probably he will blame Melanie Gibb somehow he's totally obsessed with her. I mean most of think she was probably more involved in the group but none of us think she was involved in any murders especially JJs. But he's after her. Melanie B would have been a better candidate but I guess she's way to close to Lori and he's probably afraid Lori would turn on him if he went after her.

    And I absolutely did not think her response was judgmental whatsoever! If anything, I think it sounded to be more concern for Tammy and if she was dealing with some kind of abuse at home.
    And the stairs…. I think it made Prior look like even more of a buffoon when he brought it up again, instead of the prosecution having to revisit it, when Mrs Gilbert was on the stand. I got the impression from how he phrased the question to her that he wasn’t expecting her to know much of anything about the addition to the house. He seemed to switch subjects quickly a few times throughout yesterday afternoon when he obviously wasn’t getting the answers he wanted or expected. He seemed rather irritated by the end of the day. Although it was not approved to ever ever have a girlfriend this young, we couldn't stop it so we embraced them, her parents and us together talked and we always supervise and communicate. They are also best friends.
    Even if he broke up with her and brought a new girl home in 3 weeks I would be shocked and disappointed. Maybe it's because they're both so sweet and mature and I adore her and she's always around because we supervise I don't know but I would be really taken it back and that's a teenager if my adult son after 30 years of marriage and five kids and grandkids behave this way and especially around these circumstances I would be completely suspicious I would be talking to him and telling him he needs to tell the truth put it all out there and I would not lie for him for one second.

    "Don't talk to her, talk to me.." Major abusive husband alert!!! If my SO tried that, it would be the most awkward dinner because I would start yelling right there and then. Oh and if I remarried a week after my husband died, my mum would seriously question my sanity and morality. Though, in Islamic law, you cannot remarry for at least 3 months. It's like a mandated mourning period. Similar to how when someone starts divorce proceedings, there's a mandatory arbitration period before the court moves forward.

    First time I'd watched live yesterday and all those strong amazing women standing up to Chad and finally having a voice and being listened to was incredible. I think Heather was subpoenaed by JP to keep her out of the courtroom as much as possible because he knows it rattles Chad, he is the sort of person who has a quiet rage inside when he is not in control. I also think the death certificates thing wasnt explained properly, i think maybe him mentioning how many he had ordered was more strange than how many he had ordered as i cant imagine many people would be like oh yeah ive ordered this many rather than oh yeah i have one, if that makes sense? Just my opinion.
    Heather and Kay are incredible, strong women and refused to be quiet and let things go. I think its really sad that Tammy's spirit was destroyed by that bully who was clearly emotionally abusive and controlling, if they had got divorced, i fully believe she would have gone on to have a wonderful life without him and rediscovered herself but instead she never got the chance because he not only killed her spirit he took her life. I hope she is now resting happily and peacefully.
    I think Erica is spot on and not judgy at all. We should all stand up and say something when we see blatant control and abusive behavior and be there to support each other. Too many women (and men) from all walks of life are living in these situations day to day and it shouldnt be accepted as the norm because its not x

Tammy was doing everything in that family. Yet he roved about spouting rubbish and flirting with women. By the look of that yard he was ridiculousy lazy and not willing to improve the land or provide for his children

    Something that upsets me so much is how Tammy’s kids are so disrespectful, hateful towards their mother after all she has done for them. She loved them & was a good mother from all we have seen & someday those kids will know the truth & regret that. 😡. I just wish trial was done because Chud needs to sit in a closed cell & consider all his sins! Even if he gets death, takes 10-20 years! Take care! Lesa from Sacramento area, California.🤗❤️

    I work in a primarily male dominated industry. Sometimes my husband comes with me to keep me company and help with transactions and/or transport. Whenever we go, the client always tries to address my husband first. He always looks at them and says, “I’m just here to support my wife, please speak with her and address her for all of your questions and concerns.” He supports me in all my endeavors, even when they are “crazy,” and highly encourages me to get out with friends, host events and participate in my hobbies as often I can. When I hear stories like this, and how Chad treated Tammy, I feel so deeply for the women who live in the shadows of their partners or feel oppressed into submission. I so appreciate my husband and the fact that we are seen as equals and teammates rather than competitors.

    Kouri Ritchens also LDS who allegedly poisioned her husband in Utah, had a pretrial hearing where there was a Financial Forensics Expert. That is what this case needs. Its so confusing that he supposedly made $30G that last year. Could he have bought his own books to impress Lori? Because it doesnt cost $430,000 to go to Hawaii for a few months. Even with the condo rental. Rings & clothes bought on Amazon. She was getting almost $6000 a month by then since she got spousal money for Charles death- this was stated. And had Tylee's money by then and of course JJs Social Security. Theres some money missing.

      That would be very helpful.
      Here's my understanding of where it went. Obviously a decent chunk for the 2 trips to Hawaii, when they got married and then when they left after the welfare check on JJ. The trip to Knott's Berry Farm, his kids, their spouses, their kids, that couldn't have been cheap. He gave 3 of his kids $8000 each, I've got to wonder what the other 2 thought about that. He told Emma there was $9000 cash in an envelope when he was in the police car and also told her what account to use to keep paying the mortgage and the car payment, so some was in that account. My belief is that any money beyond that is what paid Prior until it wasn't enough and Chad signed over the deed to the house to him.

    @east idaho news Nate, Julie Rowe was on Nancy Grace around the time the kids were found. She said that Chad told her and Melanie Gibb that he was married to them in a previous life. That was a typical pick up line for him and he was just looking for who would take the bait.

      @@missmeow-eq9ur yeah, it was pretty disturbing when I heard about it. A lot of people were talking negatively about Julie Rowe back then and as much as I’d like to see her take the stand and talk about what she knew pre-Lori, I think Prior would decimate her on cross. With her wacky beliefs, she wouldn’t come across as credible. I do think she and Spud were having at least an emotional affair until he met Lori. Then he dropped her (Julie) like a hot Idahoan potato. 🤣 I also think it was when he was hitting on Julie when he started saying that Tammy was going to die an early death. I’ll see if I can find the reference.
