I’m so impressed by her. Yes, Lindsey Blake! She puts Johnny deep’s lawyer Camille, or whatever her name, to shame. Ms Blake had better get a promotion after these two trials!
Was she on the Prosecutions team during Lori’s trial? I just don’t remember a female Prosecutor from that trial being so succinct and on the ball..

@@misskelly9821She and Rob Wood were the prosecutors in Lori's trial. She did a good job. Lori's defense attorneys were less aggressive in that Lori didn't want a vigorous defense.
I think its sad that we don't take time to remember Charles. He would still be alive if it weren't for these wackos. I know he doesn't have anything to do with this trial but he was a victim just the same.
Those cops should have listened to him. They probably thought he was crazy when he was attempting to explain to police what was going on. 😢
He was a good man, husband, father, brother. Lori never appreciated what she had in him. She wanted to be a goddess.

Zulema's testimony is a real-life textbook example of how cults develop. How the cult leaders adapt their cult "doctrine" to manipulate their weak followers.

I live in east Tennessee. In my 47 years of living, I've seen a lot of reporters & news anchors. Nate is, by far, the BEST. Hands down. Personable, caring, intelligent, friendly, and compassionate. Just wanted to remind you, Nate....how awesome you are! 😁

I appreciate Zulema being so transparent, I felt her testimony was honest, even when it made her look incredibly foolish. I have felt for many years that Melanie Gibbs knows so much more than she lets on.
Monica: Zulema's reports to police and later testimony is self-serving. She is smart enough to know she could be in legal trouble. And all her reports are about Lori and Chad's crazy evil behavior.....and her slow awakening.
None of these followers deserve ANY credit or praise.
We should admire church members that rang alarm bells and those who were initially interested in the Lori and Chad teaching, rejected it, and walked away.

The entire group had no shame. They were more into Chad’s approval and fake adoration until they finally stood up to his lies. That’s why Alex died. I don’t believe that Chad has remote supernatural powers but his mortal influence caused his followers to the ultimate darkness. Did Alex end his life because he felt he had lost the approval of Chad and Lori? Lori was disappointed when Alex failed to shoot Tammy. Serena was removed from the group when she challenged Chad’s repentance views. Whenever anyone challenged Chad and Lori’s opinions, they were removed.
The “banality of evil” personified= Doublechin Chad.

As an Idahoan myself, I am so glad both Lindsay Blake and Nate Eaton are also Idahoan's! Lindsay Blake is excellent at what she does. And, there is nobody like Nate! A few reasons why I believe Nate is so successful is he loves what he does. He is truly thankful to all the people who watch him. Gratitude helps bring Heaven to Earth, and God knows we need that! Great fortune in your fortune cookie tonight, Nate!
I wish all the news was like Nate’s. I love how he balanced out the horrific stuff with pets if the week and secret Santa. And he speaks on these court cases in an objective manner. No sensationalism needed. We need more Nate’s in this world!

It's interesting that Chad told everyone Tammy died of a pulmonary embolism and that is how Alex died. Almost as if Chad knew.

Tammy's was pulmonary edema. Alex was pulmonary embolism. Whether Chad lied or misquoted Tammy's original COD or if everyone else is misquoting it, who knows. We hear pulmonary embolism more often than pulmonary edema. I read somewhere that the ME removed Alex's blood clots and gave them to LE. I wonder if it was done to show beyond all doubt Alex's death was natural or why they did that. I think Alex died from guilt. Obviously, he was unaware he had heart disease, but I wonder if opening his eyes about being the fall guy and questioning if he was a man of God, was him realizing the horrible things he let Lori convince him to do and it was more than his heart could take..

3:54 Prior wanted to impeach Zulema Pastenes because she spoke the fullest and most damaging truths.
She knew more except for MP
He DID impeach her. She was very inconsistent. She changed her statement to police so it would work in court (so she was also inconsistent with them), and she said she didn’t actually believe she had powers to predict the weather but then prior mentioned a text where she said she would send a storm to make something happen. Plus she’s only giving this testimony to save her own butt. If I was a juror and fence-sitting, I’d throw out her testimony. But luckily for the prosecution, her testimony is buttressed by loads of other evidence. So he did impeach her but does it matter? Maybe not.
I have a lot of respect for her for telling the truth!
I don’t think he’s “done” trying to impeach Zulema. He’ll try again when / if he calls her for defense. He’ll try again to get that 4 hour recording in.

Zulema literally brought the receipts with her testimony today.
This was the best court day yet, I think Zulema was a great witness and the things she said buttoned up a lot of loose ends. Really interesting testimony
East Idaho news is doing a great job covering this trial. I am in South Weber Utah following this trial closely. I actually knew Tammy when I was on my mission though she was a little kid :-) me and my companion would go to their house and play Atari and we thought they were rich because they had the basketball game :-) I barely remember that but she reminded me when Chad was publishing my book famous Mormons. I never did meet Chad or Tammy in their older years and I never had met Chad thank goodness.
I was watching EIN live and it was up to 83K people. So many invested in seeing lady justice hit Daybell over the head.

I’ve been following this case since the kids were originally missing, listened to all of Lori’s trial and this one and still find myself shocked and even crying a few times hearing about the bodies being discovered and autopsied. It will never not be shocking and heartbreaking no matter how much time passes. May sweet JJ and Tylee rest in peace in the arms of Christ 🤍
The best thing I heard was that JJ had alcohol in his system. I thought “ oh my god maybe he was too messed up to be terrified with what was happening”, then the guy said it could have just been residual from decomposition 😢

Zulema was unflustered by Prior. "To be ahead of what you're doing right now." I jaw-dropped. A perfect answer.

I listened to the entirety of Lori’s trial and watched ALL of Chad’s but ur live finally made me understand what was so important about tapping and being “exalted in a prior life”. They felt like they were IMMUNE

I can tell you, if my husband of less than 24 hours, who I barely know, said we needed to go buy a drop cloth, to protect a bed in a hotel room that we DIDN'T EVEN OWN.... not only am I not going along with that, but I'm making an excuse that I need to go to the gift shop to buy something. I would find any way possible OUT OF THAT HOTEL ROOM ALONE. And once I was alone, I'm contacting my family, on my way to the police station, and my ass wouldn't be leaving that police station without an escort to the airport, to get the hell out of dodge.
Not only does she go along with the drop cloth massage....but she wakes up like 12 hours later, feeling drugged, and STILL DOESN'T RUN FOR THE HILLS?!?! I just don't get what she was thinking!!!
Alex was 1000% "testing" the life ending drugs on Zulema. I'd bet my house on it. It's too weird how often Alex traveled to Mexico to buy his medications at a "cheaper" price, and he and Tammy, two perfectly healthy adults, just so happen to have heart failure in their sleep?!?????!!!!! And again, Zulema NEVER ONCE THOUGHT TO QUESTION THIS?!?!

Dude, you lay plastic on the bed if you're planning an adult activity that involves a lot of baby oil. It really is a thing that some couples do enjoy; it's not my thing, but I don't shame people's preferences in that department, as long as everyone is giving informed consent.
The first time I heard about the plastic sheet, one of the hosts of the show I heard it on was actually perplexed that anyone would find it odd to put plastic sheeting on a bed, because it means a particular type of adult activity that they are really into. Given Alex being into sex tourism, I kind think that it isn't beyond reasonable to think that he was hoping the massage would end differently than his brand new wife falling asleep. The silence afterwards could have been him feeling dejected because it didn't go the way that he wanted.
@@mightme6887 It was a massage. You must have never had a professional one before because they use oil and you lay on a comfortable sheet. If massage parlors used plastic, I think they would be out of business because no one would be going due to how uncomfortable and unpleasant and non-relaxing that would be.
Also, this took place in a hotel, so no need to worry about oil getting on the sheets or the bedding.
@@loveforeignaccents it wasn't a professional massage, nor was it a massage parlor; it was a newlywed couple in a hotel room. Therefore, what is done in massage parlors by professional masseurs and masseuses isn't actually relevant to the conversation.
For the adult activity, it's actually not uncommon to use plastic sheeting. Oils require non-standard methods of laundering, and can cause staining. If that occurred, a hotel would just consider the bedding a loss. Additionally, depending on the amount of oil a couple uses, it can go through the bedding and ruin the mattress. the couple could then be on the hook to replace it. Hotels keep credit cards on file in case of stuff getting damaged or ruined, and would have no problem charging for oil getting into the bedding or the mattress.
If all a person wants to do is give their partner a massage, a towel would suffice, and I think that anyone would has ever given or received a massage be aware of that. Plastic sheeting is overdoing it, if that's the goal. However, the presence of plastic sheeting isn't necessarily an indication of violent intent.
Have followed you for years from Barcelona, Spain. Zulema's testimony was the best and clearest yet.

I really get the feeling Chad had convinced Lori to sever their trials, plead incompetency and allow him to blame her in his trial so he could be free and then he would fight to free her. I could see him telling her God told him this is how it needs to play out and they will be free to live out their mission. That’s why she didn’t fight in court and just allowed it to happen, while he gets to blame her. It was all his manipulation of her.

There is something going on. Either they promised not to blame each other if they got caught or Lori thought by not blaming him at her trial, he'd extend the same courtesy. Their lawyers were working together at one point until Judge Boyce ordered them to do separate.
Good theory but they weren't allowed to communicate after Chad was arrested. Maybe they have "portals" in their cells? 😂 There isn't anyone left who could be their proxy either.
I think Lori is still under his spell, but Chad is out for Chad & has no problem blaming everything on that man-eating vixon. 🙄

It sounds to me like Melanie Palowski needs to be investigated. If I heard correctly, she was in on calling her own children dark!!! She told her daughter about it and she was ok with it??????????????????????? They should not let this go. Everyone that participated in this insanity needs to answer for their parts in this insanity!!! If not, they will do it again.

Chad did NOT like Zulema talking about Lori holding Chad’s hand, physically intimate, etc.” in AZ after Charles was shot. He frowned, shook his head and started writing notes for his atty 🧐😤😆

I believe LV unalived JJ to spite Kay due to her getting the million dollar life insurance. She could have easily given him to her but it was the ultimate kick in the head to Kay to end his life.
No she got 4,000 a month or more for taking care of J.J. It was all about the Benjamins. As one detective pointed out the only ones killed were those who presented a financial opportunity for them. Alex was not the beneficiary of Zulema's life insurance policy. He may have forged her signature by getting the form over the phone like they tried to do with Charles. But the plastic, it's weird. Maybe they wanted her killed because she knew too much, was a loose end. I believe Alex killed himself on their orders. The only other loose end then would be Gibb and David.
I agree. It was to spite Kay, because Lori had no patience for JJs needs and because she wanted to keep receiving his social security benefits from Charles and her benefits from being JJs surviving parent. She would have lost that money had she given him to Kay.

Zulema did a very good job today. She handled Prior better than many of the others. I hope the victims’ family are ok with this because I think Zulema’s testimony may be what tips the scales of Justice toward GUILTY on all counts.
It was interesting to watch Daybell’s demeanor as Zulema testified. He starts out sitting straight & tall as he has done before. By the end, he is slumped in his chair, shrinking into himself (probably trying to be as small as possible so the jury won’t see him).
Why doesn’t the State just parade Christina,Serena and Nicole through the witness stand and confirm the things Zulema is saying? That’ll shut Prior up. I don’t blame the jury for being in a “We’re over it” status with Prior. He is trying every angle to get his client off and it’s becoming tiresome and predictable. You cannot refute facts and truth.
Let’s all pray for a guilty verdict on June 9 !!!
I cannot say enough about Judge Boyce. Wow !!! His grasp of the law and ability to stay engaged and focused during lengthy, sometimes tedious testimony (much of which he has heard already and some of it TWICE) is amazing !!! I would love to sit down and have a conversation with him … about things other than this case or even the law. He must be incredibly intelligent, aware and articulate. So much to admire about this human being.
I’d also love to sit down and have a conversation with Ms. Blake. She is AMAZING !!!!!!

I am so happy that Zulema said that Alex Cox said to her that he hoped they were not going to use him for their fall guy. Hallelujah! OF COURSE THEY DID. I was afraid the idea would never be introduced.
I'm most shocked that Zulema is a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor. I'm currently utilizing the DVR because of a brain injury. I can't imagine needing job skills and learning that the Counselor who was guiding me was a part of this psycho-loony, woo-woo, crew. 😳

he's trying to give the impression everything was orchestrated by Lori and Chad was just following orders. if they could prove he was "brainwashed" by Lori he wouldn't get the death penalty. that's really the only thing he could hope for at this point.

You said that jurors looked tired of Priors line of questioning over and over but nothing against Prior. I can't imagine anyone not be annoyed at him. He doesn't listen to the judge or the objections that are sustained. He asks the same question over and over. I think he's horrible!! He might be a nice person in person but as an attorney no.

Hello Nate! Thank you for explaining all of this testimony from Zulema. I agree with you that it is baffling how they could remember all of this insane information! I am actually glad the Zulema took all of these notes - otherwise, we would probably never know what they believed in. Thank you for following this case from day one. The people involved are numerous, unlike most cases and it is/has taken so much time out of your life and away from your family. Again, thank you, Nate and East Idaho News!
I can’t get past Zulema saying that she had “visions” telling her that she should “protect Lori”. Holy smokes! I kept waiting for her to say “I certainly know now that this was delusional!” I’m sorry. I found her to be kind of a dim bulb.

I missed her testimony in Lori’s trial. I very much hope she had had some help after because by drawn into that fantasy world. I can just hear Chad on the phone with her, telling he all about her past lives, and being pleased with himself that he can choose the right people for his little cult world.

I think they wanted Alex to get rid of Zulema…Alex spared her, Chad and Lorie were pissed and started to treat Alex badly. She really lucked out. Lorie was probably berating him on the phone for screwing things up again and calling him a moron.
Theory is she was mad because he missed when shooting at Tammy.

Nate, I watch every night while I am on dialysis. I appreciate that you report the straight story not add your “spin”. One day I would love to hear your personal opinion of all this . Here is a thought about how Chad and Lori knew about Tammy’s exhumation. Chad used to work for the Springville cemetery. Is it possible that they (cemetery) knew in advance and someone tipped Chad off as to what was going down.? The cemetery would most likely be informed to make sure there would not be a conflicting funeral going on at the same time. Just a thought

I'm a court reporter. Think of our machine like a piano. A combination of keys can mean many things, including commonly said phrases like: State your full name; I don't recall; in your own words; beyond a reasonable doubt, etc., etc.
A simple name such as the name Jim on our machine would be SKWR*EUPL, which seems like a lot, but that is all getting taken down amongst several fingers within one keystroke versus three -- J-i-m -- on an actual typewriter.

I still can't believe this happened. How truly insane people can spread evil like a disease. It makes me wonder how people like this can walk around among us and we don't even see the pure wickedness that's inside of them. It doesn't seem real.
