Political parties are a con. They should be declared unconstitutional as they negate democracy by linking diverse jurisdictions together which often have nothing to do with each other, thus effectively rendering null and void the votes of the individuals in those jurisdictions.
The drafters of the Constitution did not have political parties in mind, but independents. Parties by definition and of necessity serve themselves first and foremost, not the people.
Similarly, a football team aims to win regardless of whether it has any supporters: it is an entity in and of itself: its actual supporters are the players on the field, rather than anyone in the stands.
At election time the parties pretend to be interested in the welfare of the voters, but as soon as the election is over it's party time again.

I remember being in the US in Jan 2020 when the Democratic Primary debates were going on... Joe Biden couldn't complete a sentence. That was 4 and a half years ago. Madness to make him the candidate then, madness to support him to go for another term last year. Suddenly, after last night they've all noticed, like him falling over a million times and losing his train of thought millions more didn't send any clues.
Some of us noticed and made waves. However, the level of delusion amongst Democrats is (was) about as great as it is on the other side. No argument could get through to people and criticism had been treated until late last evening as treason.
Those were isolated incidents. This was the first time he consistently showed that he is no longer in control of his mental faculties. He needs some supportive care at this point, and should not be commander in chief anymore.
@caseypenk repeated isolated incidents add up to a pattern. I've got no skin in this game, but anyone who thought nothing was seriously wrong with him until last night either has a massive case of denial or are so unobservant that they shouldn't be crossing the road by themselves.

The electoral college is enshrined in the US Constitution. Amending the constitution requires a supermajority, which neither party has. Furthermore, eliminating the electoral college would reduce the influence of small states and there are more small states than large.
In other words, changing the constitution is quite hard and removing the electoral college simply isn’t going to happen, regardless of your views about it.
