      Yes, it seems as if our cohesion as communities, as you are defing them, is being eroded by our out-sourcing to other 'interests' s though doing so would be a provision for or substitute for, losses or even to keep a lid on properly grieving or knowing a loss.
      It doesn't feel real...as if then people grow to feel/believe that they were justified to have what they had in the first place- even if its only an inkling of what it was that they had. And maybe that thing the had was their sence of community that has failed them or they have failed.
      It is so apparent when big land developers are able to work with city planners almost to the exclusion of the input of neighbourhood committees and their concerns about not being hemmed in or over-shadowed by their "inconvenience" to the developers.

      “Jordan”, the river where the Forerunner baptized Christ. “Peterson”; son of Peter. The Apostle who gets into trouble for being the first to speak, who’s title means “rock”-which can be either a solid foundation or can sink to the bottom of the ocean. Like Peter who was zealous enough to jump feet first into blessings and cursings, the one who denies Christ and yet feeds his lambs…. Peterson hasn’t made it across the Jordan. Hopefully, like Peter, he doesn’t take his eyes of Christ lest the Rock sink.

    So I’ve been going to Orthodox Church for a couple months and it’s been magical. Learning on UA-cam doesn’t compare to actually participating in the faith

    That gangsta rap reference blew me away - being a young black man who listens to gangsta rap and was once living by the lyrics - it made me smile. I respect Pageau more than ever now 🥲

    Heaven/Earth, Male/Female, Yang/Yin; “Earth” is the world of matter and “Heaven” is the world of patterns. Reality is made by patterns shaping matter. Which is why "pattern" means "father" and "matter" means "mother." Hence "paternal/maternal". This is even true in our biology. The mother grows the child, provides virtually all the material from which the baby comes. The father provided only one single cell, but that cell contained a pattern of information that tells the mother's body how to grow the baby.

      Interesting. Are you saying that paternal / pater has the same etymological root as pattern? Or just that those words by coincidence sound the same?

    • @AlexStock187
      @AlexStock187 2 роки тому +7

      @@ManiphestoMen Yes, they are etymologically connected. “Pattern” comes from “patron”, which is shortened from the Latin “patronus”, which came from the Greek word for father. Matter is also derived from the Greek word for mother.

      That's an extremely interesting piece of information, thanks a lot! It's always fascinating to learn of the origins of words that we use, and how they are connected to other words. I was baffled when I learned that the word 'symbol' comes from a Greek word which means something like 'that which brings together / unites multiple paths into one' while the idea of the devil / diablo comes from a Greek word meaning something like 'that which seperates one path into two/multiple'. The 'bol' / 'bolo' in the terms 'symbolo' and 'diabolos' has the same root and means something like path and 'sym' is to bring together while 'dia' means two (so to make two out of one). Lastly, the term religion then comes from the latin verb 'religere', which also means to bring things together. Thus religion and symbolism bring things into unity while the devil/diablo is something which seperates that which was in unity and splits it into multiple/many. I at least hope this is correct, it's something I heard somewhere but I am not 100% sure.

    • @AlexStock187
      @AlexStock187 2 роки тому +2

      @@candaniel2 Yes, you are correct. The “bolo” part means “to throw”. So a symbol is two things thrown together, while diabolo is to “throw through”, meaning something thrown in between to cause a separation.

    Yes, what we worship in each other . . when we come across it in its purest form we are moved to tears. Like what we see and feel in the Freedom Convoy. We are made in the image of God.

    If you're not aligned with yourself, you are not a good member of the community. Exactly. But what does it mean for you to be aligned in yourself?

    • @ManiphestoMen
      @ManiphestoMen  2 роки тому +4

      To be aligned with yourself means that all the various parts of you are aligned under one central principle which resolves all internal paradox and is also aligned with reality. There are different ways of conceptualising that singular principle. Sub-optimal ones would be ideological principles such as "justice", "freedom", "equality" or "individual responsibility". Better would be something like "love" in the broadest understanding of the word. It is what Eastern religions refer to with ideas such as nirvana and Christians mean when they say "God". It enables the full integration of the whole without destroying any of the uniqeness of the parts. I recommend Matthieu Pageau's book "Language of Creation" to understand this better.

    • @ManiphestoMen
      @ManiphestoMen  2 роки тому +2

      Hi Gregory, we do have men of different sexual persuasions and tendencies joining our events. We request that we maintain a "desexualized space" while at the event - especially no flirting or cruising. Feeling attraction to other men is not a problem. But acting on and expressing physical attraction is not allowed at our events as that would be a distraction from the work we are doing and detract from the intimacy we are creating.

    Why can’t it be called Father/Mother God ?

    • @ManiphestoMen
      @ManiphestoMen  2 роки тому +1

      Using Jonathans terms, the father provides the seed, while the mother provides body - as is the case with human reproduction. Given that God the Father never has a physical body, he provides only the seed, or blueprint, or "revelation", he is always in the fatherly position relative to us. So it does not mean that God is male. It only means that we are always is a feminine, receptive position relative to God.
