The only thing Eclipse has over Roar nowadays is that it's recastable by default. If Rhino gets a definitive soft rework, Roar just might take the top spot.
Love these UmbraGuides, but I was wondering if you could do a Nyx one? She doesn't get much love, even though I've been loving her playstyle with subsuming pillage over her four to stay alive(I like assimilate but not for team play) I'm thinking with the eclipse changes maybe she can be viable with it?
shield gate with her 2 then you can do anything you want with her brief respite and 2 augur mods makes her “viable” (i’ve levelcapped cascade with her)
For me, I use breach surge on banshee with silence weapon on exilus slot. Right after silence stun then they got blind. With that, almost no enemy was able to attack me even with overguard. Cause the AI can't pinpoint my location. Way safer than relieve on DR when I try enemy over lvl 300. Below that DR is fine.
@@UmbraGuide oh, they nerf it? Edit: I just test decoy with Citrine 3. It does not work. Edit: they just include missing nerf in Dante's release to 35.5.3 patch. Yeah it was fine before Dante's release. Rip.
Shields damage reduction hasn't mattered since they made all damage reductions function seperately. Having 88% damage reduction instead of 50%on just shields specifically is not a good reason to build a tanky banshee bro.
I don't think I've ever Seen such Very Informative Video that's less than 6 Minutes. Infact ... I would Say there's too much Information Density Given the Time Window. 😱
TLDR; I'm not even sure if I've ever experienced the Solar Eclipse Buff, but I enjoy the DR buff to Lunar. I honestly have limited experience with subsumed Eclipse I mostly have experience with Eclipse on Mirage, me as a secondary Mirage/Gauss user (Kullervo main). I will say since the toggle change I mostly just use the Lunar DR because I forgot/forget about the toggle and have noticed that my Mirage has been tankier in Requiem Fissures and the new Lua/TenZero Fissures. Honestly I have not noticed a change in kill rate, or overall damage in those tile sets with me forgetting to hold for Solar/Light buff. I mostly use Mirage in Axi/Requiem/Omni Fissures with a Kuva Ogris, I have notice a decent incoming damage reduction change because Eclipse no longer fluctuates due to lighting. Mostly I've noticed Mirage can now take a hit, our Harlequin is no long as fragile with Lunar Eclipse as she was before the change. I'm starting to remember to toggle to light before using the disco ball, but mostly I've always just been using Mirage as a weapons platform for my Kuva Ogris. Here recently I've ACCIDENTALLY been making good use of the BUFF TO LUNAR eclipse because again I forget her 3 is now a toggle. The only frame I subsumed Eclipse onto was Titania, and I haven't used the Fairy Queen since the update so I have no personal experience to share about the Helminth version.
Generally, you will eventually reach a point in the game where a base +30% damage bonus (for both Roar and Eclipse) is more feasibly replaced with a Primed Bane unless your damage is coming from abilities; which, in turn reduces your rotation by one ability to simplify gameplay! There is just going to be a time where you won't need the 30-90% damage buff, as there's more than enough sources for multipliers elsewhere. Meanwhile, damage reduction is next to impossible to slot in a consistent source. ie, Adaptation requires buildup, Rolling Guard having an internal cooldown, Arcane Aegis requiring Brief Respite to proc regularly etc. Night Eclipse provides a flat 90% damage reduction for the duration, without any fine print at the bottom. So for a frame that is already absurd on the damage front and won't need the damage boost, it's a no brainer to slot it in for survivability such as the notorious Banshee. I've even had some success for frames such as Equinox and Octavia as well, as it allows them to remain in SP without spamming 200+ actions per minute at all times.
@@hothstorm not worthless and not placebo. I don't think you understand how DR works in Warframe. The difference in final DR on shields between Mirage and subsume is only 7.5%. The point at which it would become irrelevant due to enemy damage scaling is going to effectively be the exact same whether it's on Mirage or subsumed, and the majority of the playerbase simply will not ever reach that point anyway
This is just the most absurd take. Enemies that are dead can't hit you? What about the enemies behind you? The ones that spawned in the instant you turned your aim away from the last enemy you killed? The ones that are _right now_ ALREADY SHOOTING YOU. Take *off* adaptation? Are you mad? You saw a stacking multiplicative 75% DR and your first thought _wasn't_ "let's turn that into a 97.5% DR"!? If you have at least 500 armor, make that 99%. This is not a game where glass cannons succeed in anything but the most specific of circumstances. Not every frame has another defensive tool. Dark mode eclipse is never coming off of my Lavos, my Banshee, my Excalibur, my Nova, or my melee Wisp build. Every frame can be Revenant levels of safe now!
agree with you, with my 4k hours in the game taught me one thing, it is to enjoy your favourite warframe at base steelpath without jumping hoops and as slowly time is passing by I am prioritising generic fun builds where I pick the loadout and get into game. The whole point of this game is to enjoy versatility and not the very specific synergies to do 2 billion DMG while stressing yourself for rest of the mission. This has been my take, peace.
Entirely disagree. In fact, glass cannons played effectively are some of the easiest frames to take to level cap. Usually you’re only going down if you get overwhelmed, if you kill them first you never get overwhelmed. Invulnerability stacking and gating is much more effective long term than health tanking. Literally skill issue. The fact you even bring up Revenant kinda shows that you don’t want to actively learn how to survive.
@@lucfal5978 Nobody is taking health tanking to level cap. My goal is to survive up to around lvl 1300, or 10-15 rounds in the Circuit. 99+% DR does that. I won't disagree that it's a skill issue, but we simply have different goals. I want every. Single. Frame. to be capable of comfortably taking on lvl 1000+ enemies, but not much beyond that except in very specific circumstances. With the power that we can get from weapons these days, most frames don't *need* to buff weapon damage much to succeed, so I tackle the next point of failure: Defense. As to why I use Lunar Eclipse on Lavos, well, it's because I don't use any of his other abilities. With his new augment, he has become a pure weapons platform frame for me, so the only reason to push a button is to apply an element. That let's me use a comfy, DR and armor stacking setup to basically ignore defense. It's cozy.
@@GlamadorI can’t fault you for wanting cozy. I enjoy level cap runs with my clan a ton and minmaxing team synergies so that’s a lot of how I base these balancing changes on. In Duviri if I get a good combo I’m trying to carry that all the way through till I’ve maxed all the ranks tbh because I don’t want to be at the mercy of a reroll. I don’t enjoy all weapons so I don’t have purposed builds for them all. Also agree with the Lavos decision, he’s an incredible ability nuker, but I don’t have the dexterity to play him like that so I’d rather use the weapons platform build on him as well. My tendency is to lean more on CC than tanking when possible so that’s why I prioritize helminth decisions on frames that already have the damage. Except Banshee where I lean in further on overkill with Xata’s and just make all the enemies kill themselves for me 😂

Never forget that DE almost made Eclipse's damage boost additive.
Not gonna lie I would’ve been perfectly fine with that outcome.
#JusticeForChroma
Instead they just heavily nerfed it instead
Honestly an additive 500-700% increase is no joke would have been better than an on average 80% multi
The 350% they said they were giving would be a bigger eclipse type buff than current eclipse in most situations.
I really like these videos on the second channel I wish more content had quality like this put into them
can you post the full build? (like a picture or something)

Imagine if they released a helminth ability that taunts enemies, tank mains would be happy
The fact you don't realize that there's a mod that already does this speaks volumes to how nothing of an idea this is.
