I just purchased a new 2022 Enclave for my family (we have 3 kids). It was a fantastic hassle free buying experience. The Enclave ride is very smooth but also very powerful (effortlessly gets above 80, even 90 mph). So much room inside, the most cargo space of any 3 row SUV. I disagree with ACCELER8, we have found it to be quite premium (ride, comfort, touches, safety features), but most of all it is an easy car for a family to own and drive. I also like the fact that I can use regular 87 octane fuel, and we average around 22 MPG on long trips.
I own a 2021 enclave. It's fantastic. Comfortable, quiet, screen is smaller and simple to use, no 48 inch screen like most new cars, fits everyone just fine in the back, perfect for us. A family suv when the value brands aren't classy enough, and the luxury brands are too much of a statement. I actually get compliments on it from time to time.
I LOVE the Buick Enclave! Currently have a 2011 model with 225k miles on it. It has been a great vehicle for me and my large family. I'm looking to get a new one in the next year or two.
2012 223,500 looking wife likes them looking for another right now. Learn to work on it. Just replaced front valve gasket and and high pressure fuel valve. Stabilitrak/engine light issue.
@igottaspeak I actually found a really good deal on a pre-owned 2021 Avenir trim level back in November 2022. It only had 6k miles on it, and it was $14k less than a '22 model. It is so nice and smooth riding.
Buick is not a 100000 car,it spent its money not on jazzy interior or audio, but rather on luxury that you can feel but cannot see,i love the quiet and comfort elegance and practicality, i feel few can compete in quietness or comfort.
We have a 2018 Premium AWD for the wife mobile and we think it's best in class for a large family. More room and faster than most of the competition and it's simply amazingly comfortable. As a performance car guy I still think it handles great and is pretty fun to drive for what it is. Strollers fit nicely behind the 3rd row, more room than the standard Expedition we looked at. Everyone says it's the smoothest and quietest vehicle they've been in. Drinks some gas in aggressive city driving (~17mpg) as they all do but does pretty good on the highway (24-30mpg depending on conditions).
I’m on my 2nd enclave. And thinking about a 3rd. Can’t find another vehicle with all the features I currently have. BMW and Mercedes have 90% but the other 10% I’d have to pay for. But with Buick it’s got everything.
The Enclave will be my 3rd Buick. Had a 03 Buick Regal had 355,000 miles before I sold it. Now own a 15 Buick Verano with 86,000 miles with zero repairs. We need something to tow our New Fishing Boat but don’t want a Pickup Truck. 5000Lbs Towing is more than we need. We Love our Buicks. Plus the Enclave is made in Michigan.
You are the only reviewer I've seen to call out the lack of a head restraint for the center passenger. It's the same for the 2nd row in the Traverse if you get a bench seat. I believe GM is the only company left that omits them, and there is simply no excuse for that in a family vehicle. This should get called out in every review and be a big fail in crash test ratings.
I am a car enthusiast and am seeing a lot of these Buicks in upscale ski resorts in Colorado. The styling is impressive, and the vehicle looks premium. This review was overly negative and a bit patronizing. Automotive reviewers have become painfully myopic in their review criteria - performance is all they care about. And please spare us the comparisons with German suvs. Their price point is higher and their long term reliability - especially BMWs, is a joke. I know - I’ve owned several Merceds and BMWs.
Yea, I’m wasn’t shopping the Buick vs the bmw, totally different. His remark about the second row doesn’t add, the door in the second row is finished in material just like the front door, the minivans I had were not.
its almost automatic that after driving a BMW x-7 they expect the same kind of performance for 50000 less,it seems they pooh pooh american cars, the word to use is ELEGANT american premiumness.
I have a 2019 and I’ve traded vehicles literally every 2-3 years for new prior to this Enclave going back to the late 80’s. I miss the last, a 2017 GMC Sierra, but this fits the garage better and thanks to COVID and work from home, I’m still under 15K miles on this 2019 Enclave at the end of 2023. It’s plenty of luxury enough for what our family wants in a car. Attractive, plenty refined for us, comfortable, reasonable gas mileage and when I was putting about ~45K miles per year prior to Covid, it’s practically still new 4 years later. I can’t believe I’m still driving and enjoying a 4 year old car, but I am. GM/Buick hit it out of the park with this one IMHO.
This vehicle is very impressive to say the least. Extremely quiet, smooth ride, very comfortable and roomy. The third row seat is very roomy even for a taller person. Has a combination of a luxury and sporty feel and drive. Nice power and great gas mileage. On top of all of that, it looks very good outside and inside. The tech is fairly simple to use, but I like that. It's the real deal! I am impressed.
A little old manish but it’s definitely got the space we need for 2 kids and a large dog. The Durango v6 has more power but this is fine considering its space. It’s sexier than the Traverse and a lot bigger than the Acadia or XT6. We like the Telluride but the demand and dealer fees are ridiculous! How much should I pay for a ‘22 Avenir trim model? Also glad they finally got rid of the stop/start.
I just bought my 2023 essence..I didn’t think I would like it when my salesman sent me pics but when I saw it in person I was quite happy..really like it
It is tough for auto enthusiasts to review boringly competent cars, but people buy hundreds of thousands of boringly competent cars every year so. I bought an Enclave in 2012 and a few months ago gave it to my 21 year old daughter. 145K miles, some cracked plastic and worn off buttons, but the leather has no peeling like you see on Hyundai or Kia after 8 years. Every single thing works; moonroof, power liftgate, DVD-nav system, heated and cooled seats, etc. I mean what more can you ask for? It just runs forever carrying your whole family in comfort and it won't cost you an arm and a leg. Boring.
Bad examples of suv, that come with a lot of choices on quietness, the CVT on the Subaru Ascent is not quiet. And a glass windshield that is quiet is not very common in other cars.just saying.

Comfy, quiet, spacious, does everything how you expect. Totally inoffensive. Good value. There is a market for that. Ultra luxury features be damned.

Does the rear camera in the center display turn on automatically when you are backing up, or is that manual as well?
That is automatic yes!
Buick used to be one of the luxury brands in China, but for now it’s at Toyota’s level
It looks and sounds great ,except for the price. I think there’s just so many more better choices for that price.
It looks nice
