Friends this video tooook it OUT OF ME! But mostly in all the good ways! Many of you have asked for a slowed-down version of this with instruction and it's COMING! In October the Joy Maker tier for my Patreon members will include how-to and behind the scenes video of the painting process for this all blue tile art! And good news, sign up for this tier and you'll get access to the downloadable version of my TILE ART! www.patreon.com/kristyrice/membership
Organized all my blues, took 2 minutes 😂 but seriously can I vote for purple for next challenge? 1. Because it's my favorite color and 2. It's the one I get most frustrated with painting.
This is stunning and I would love to see something similar in greens. I always feel so inspired when I watch your videos. Thank you for the awesome amount of work that went into this - both planning and execution.❤
I am blown away, that was amazing! I hope you had fun! The preparation alone looked like a huge task! I can't even think about having to put all of that paint back in the palettes! 🤦♀️😂 If you do it again, I would love to see pinks or purples!
@@KristyRice well it might be a teeny bit worth it because the painting was so great. On the other hand, it could be a huge pain in the butt. Good luck!
I’m glad you told us how long it took. I was imagining the painting part took an afternoon. Whew! So not accessible for me! Next? Pink! was my first choice, within a heartbeat!
It’s beautiful, who doesn’t love blue?? I view every painting done in a single color as a value study. I had one teacher in high school take the class outside with nothing but brushes, paper, water and instant coffee. That was fun!
I can't even believe that you did this loo! Incredible - 1 I'm amazed by your sketch on the ipad - stunning. 2. The idea of even pulling out all my blues gives me palpitations, talk less painting with them. 3. Lol I can't imagine the work that went not only painting but also the recording & editing. Amazing! I'm blown away. xx
Should you do this again?? I wouldn't dare to ask! The planning and prep that went into it is mind-boggling. But boy have you nailed it Kristy, its stunning! Congrats.😍
When I started watching this video, I thought you would have trouble getting enough contrast. But you have plenty of contrast, and the tile design gives it a sort of rhythm. I can’t begin to imagine all the blues you used, but I love the result!
This could be the mother of all mothers' comparison of watercolor brands. This is absolutely stunning and I can't begin to wrap my head around how much work was involved to plan and create this painting. Thanks so much for this wild experience! 💙🩵
I see these as tile mosaics, you should get into the tile making industry that would be awesome. Backslashes shower back behind the stove, the kitchen sink bathroom sink everywhere. Maybe you could design bathroom with this all blue tile because I am just that close to wanting one
Four hundred + blue watercolors! I cannot even imagine. I have been feeling a little guilty because I have quite a few watercolors. And I am not a professional artist…just enjoy playing in the paints. You have made my day girl. On a serious note, I love this post. You must have spent hours and hours doing this. Thanks
professional artists don't tend to hoard the quantities of paints that youtubers do. UA-camrs tend to do haul videos or reviews for extra views so I think they end up hoarding way too much. Professionals settle on a few they know and trust and then work with those. This hoarding trend is absolutely monstrous.
@@wynngwynn Well I don’t feel monstrous, lol. And most of the youtubers I have seen have told beginners that you don’t need a house full of paint to be able to mix colors. I see it as a hobby. I know people who collect glass figurines and have a house full. That is why they make vanilla and chocolate.
My goodness!!, I don’t even have a quarter of the number in my entire watercolor library . How amazing!!!, and LOTS of work!!. Good for you, hope you had fun!!. ♥️
Sooo exciting! It is past midnight here in France, I have been indulging in binge-(re)watching your videos on youtube, and this has just popped up, totally gloriously joyful - I now I should sleep???
Wow!!! I am just amazed at what you come up with every time. It is absolutely beautiful and soooo much work!! Thank you Kristy for sharing this. No, it is definitely not flat. What an endeavor, and to think you might want to do it again, yeah would love to see some greens or reds, that would be incredible.
WOW!!! That was incredible!!! I wish you had made a longer video of the whole process. I like all colors so seeing it again in pinks, purples, oranges, yellows, even reds or greens would be awesome!❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤
I love this! It reminds me of tile... and the gorgeous blues... well, it's pretty fantastic! No, not flat... never Kristy! Yes, do a vivid pink/ magenta, etc. next time!!! ... or reds!!! ... or greens! with Phthalo! How about yellow/oranges!!! Thanks Kristy! A California Gramma ❤
Blue is literally my least favorite color of the rainbow. You outdid yourself!!! This is fabulous. Next color...I was going to say orange, because it's my favorite color. But, pink is second and YES, DO IT!!!! You are so inspiring.
i hope this will be in your next coloring book! ot available to download its so pretty i want to paint it! I haven't particularly enjoyed watching one color challenges but at least watercolor made it more interesting, and it did come out gorgeous

OH MY GOODNESS!!!!! I can't even express properly how much I love this! Blue is my favorite color, flowers are my favorite thing to paint, I LOVE both Delft style and Italian tile style and this feels like both! THANK YOU for going through that incredible effort to actually get all your blue paints, and do all the amazing things 😁😁😁 I believe I've mentioned contact wallpaper I got (actually covered a table, not a wall, lol!) That reminds me so much of your artwork. If you ever explore that avenue, this piece would be incredible as a faux tile wall 😍 or even real tile but I imagine that would be way more expensive 🤪 And yes, I would love to see you do another one color challenge! Artist's choice on color 😊

It has to be pink. Everyone is requesting pink!!
Wow, after ALL that effort, the final painting was absolutely gorgeous. You are extremely talented Kristy. ❤
Thank you so much!
I love the blues. Do more !! Or a tutorial on each square!! Please. ❤ They are all so different. They remind me of portugals' beautiful ceramics

Actually, it is amazing how beautiful this turned out.

I did have fun. All the steps, although laborious were meditative and cathartic most of the time :)
That was my question as well. How long did it take you to put all that paint back?? Loved this so much ❤
My guess is the most difficult part of this was getting all those pans back in their original pallettes! This is fantastic!

You would be correct. I still have some that I have no idea where they go!!
@@KristyRice well it might be a teeny bit worth it because the painting was so great. On the other hand, it could be a huge pain in the butt. Good luck!

aww thanks :)
most difficult...putting all the paints away. pulling out is fun, search, treasure...easy...blue. found it! putting away, not so much.

@@KristyRicevery wise.
