We'll also explain the difference between steering wheel technologies: spring, gear-driven, belt-driven, direct-drive.
All the information is applicable to American Truck Simulator as well.

Mouse actually works perfectly for me, just like a wheel its really precise and not as clunky as a keyboard. You just have to use it with low sensitivity
In terms of controllers/gamepads, I find the Sony DualShock 4 and DualSense (PS5) to be the best in terms of steering, when configured through Steam Input.
The analog sticks can go really low in terms of deadzones, responding practically immediately, even on slight stick movement. Steam provides a ton of customizability, even including things like setting up double tap and hold modifiers for buttons.

Im using a G923 without the shifter. I think that this wheel is budget friendly, and for the quality and build, it's fun in games like euro truck simulator 2. I see how moza sponsors you in literally every video, but their wheels are REALLY expensive, and only for people that have a lot of money. The price of a G923 setup covers the price of just the moza motor. It's really crazy that you can spend less money on a good setup without overpricing, but having fun. Also, I think that a VR headset brings a more immersive feeling, than a moza wheel. If you would give us a discount code (in hundreds not tens of pounds), i will be interested in their products. Of course, everyone wants the most premium option of steering wheels, but let's be honest, no one is that rich to buy them. I recommend sticking to the medium-shelf ones. Anyways, i also recommend to try out the Meta quest 3 VR headset, because it has just came out on the market. You could make a video of playing it with the headset or something more entertaining like idiots on the road in TruckersMP 😉👍
Again it all depends on the individual and their budget. If someone is starting out yeah totally go for something on the medium range like a G29 or maybe even something cheaper if the G29 is still too expensive for you. If you are an enthusiast or someone that is looking for an upgrade to their wheel and most important if you have the budget I don't see any reason not to go for a more expensive direct drive wheel to get best experience, I think everyone in that position would make that decision. The most important is that anyone that is deciding on buying a wheel makes the proper research to see what to buy. I've been playing ETS2 with a Thrustmaster t150 for the past 6 years now and although I'm satisfied with it and have no reasons to complain, if the opportunity arises I would definitely buy a direct drive wheel.
@@dmdm597 Yeah, I agree. The thing is that a steering wheel is a toy that could be used for a bit, but then starts to get borring. The Moza steering wheel which costs a lot, is only designed for truck simulators. I think that spending so much money on something only compatible with trucking games is just not worth it. A G923 perfectly fits all the needs, it doesn't need to be upgraded, because it is all in one piece, and fulfills you in every kind of experience. Of course, it's your own money, but my opinion is clear - if you have thousands of dollars to throw to the left and to the right, you will be happy with what you got, but if you're living on multiple debts and think of a one time satisfaction, a Moza wheel is absolutely not the right choice. Did you know, Moza steering wheels aren't buyable in one piece? You have to pay separately lots of money for them. You can drop your credit card balance if you already have a high end setup with everything ready, but not the steering wheel. I am not a UA-camr, I Play games only for fun. Maybe because Tony is sponsored and has the money for a wheel, he isn't complaining or being drowned in money. As I said, I play games only for fun without the need of everything being diamond quality, therefore Moza wheels aren't my focused point. The moral of the story is that if you want to get the best possible experience with a couple of truck related games and you have a lot of money, spend it on a Moza wheel. But if you are looking for an cheap experience that will satisfy you, get a budget wheel, like the G923.
@@WinterIsMyFavrSeason Yeah I know about having to buy the wheel separately, but that's just how it is with direct drive wheels, the same goes for Fanatec also it's not just Moza. They are simply put it high end products and definitely not for everyone. Moza also has the bundles for those who want to buy the full kits without buying it separately but for now there's no bundle with the truck wheel. In my eyes if one has the budget and can afford it's 100% worth it plus you have access to whole Moza ecosystem you aren't stuck with just the truck wheel. They are expensive but they are very high quality products you just have to look on youtube and some forums on the internet to see that everyone talks in high regards about the Moza products, so if one buys a Moza product although it's expensive they are not wasting their money in a bad product. But again it all depends on the budget and is definitely not for everyone, and there's nothing wrong with that, there's quality products in all prince ranges and with the proper research it's impossible to make mistakes, one just has to know what they are buying and be intelligent on where they are spending their money.
@@dmdm597 I used to run with controller setup, then this year around April I got myself a G29 setup with shifter, but rn I just assemble the wheel itself most of the times cuz it's easier to assemble and disassemble without the shifter. And my shifter has been sitting in the box for 1 month or smth (I only used the shifter with the wheel for like half a month to a month)
May I ask which country are you from? Because at least here in Finland you can get yourself Moza R3 bundle for a couple tens cheaper than G923.

Of course not everyone has the money, so play with what you have. I personally play with a keyboard and I love it. Would I like a wheel? Yes. Can I afford one or do I even have the space for it? No
Well, i use the mouse as steering wheel BUT, with the DPI low, makes it really playable
yep, and there is no need to make a quick turn if you are driving at a reasonable speed
I found that the Steam controller is really good for Euro Truck due to the amount of buttons / inpurts that it has. I was using that before getting a steering wheel.
I agree with Steam controller. I enjoy it better with it than wheel.

First for me mouse must be the easiest for me because keyboard you cannot do smooth turn with it but if you set up the mouse correctly you can drive it like normal steering wheel

I really appreciate you going right into your lack of knowledge about driving simulators and using a mouse in general. It saved me a lot of time that I would have wasted watching the video just to realise youre clueless.
You mention realism and then talk about a mouse being unable to adjust the steering at high speeds while driving in a housing area and approaching a roundabout. Not to mention, you definitely can be precise with the movements and adjust quickly with a mouse - you need to adjust your mouse settings and DPI I'm guessing considering you think that.

A good budget wheel is the "genisis seaborg 400" which does have weak force feed back, but it has 900 degrees of rotation(you can change it to 270 degrees)for117.10 usd or 113.76 euro
The trick for mouse steering is, set the input sensitivity very, very low. Also bound: LMB to throttle, RMB to brake, MMB to engine brake, SCROLLWHEEL to retarder, BUTTON4 to shift up, BUTTON5 to shift down. I use cruise control a lot, automatic shift but sometimes sequential in low speed maneuvering.
MOZA does seem like the best solution but you really need dedication to ETS2/ATS and physical desk space.
I thought the same at first, but it actually takes the least desk space I’ve ever seen. The desk clamp is very small and you can place the keybord on top of it the maximize space.
I started playing with keyboard, and upgraded to a wired Xbox controller. I then upgraded to a Logitech G920. Now, I have a full blown sim rig with Moza gear and a gear stick from a real Scania😅
I think the SimTask steering kit is pretty good if you want a heavy vehicle experience that doesnt break the bank.

The one thing I hate about using ETS2 with a controller is that the wheel takes AGES to turn, so sometimes you can't avoid an accident AND you can't quickly manoeuvre the truck so that is why I am getting a G29 as my first wheel
i use mouse steering. its like steering wheel but fore keyboard and mouse and with the right settings its pretty good
you also should say the bad thing with a direct drive wheel, is that some of them can be really powerful and can easily hurt you:))

@@lanfenglxfI agree with you but we ain't playing F1 or Asseto/project cars.. we're playing ETS2 .. If you're playing all those game than yes, the HORI isn't for you. If you're are playing only ETS/ATS .. Then the HORI is definitely for you !!

@@omsitnh you should look it up before commenting... 1800 degrees of rotation... It is inclined as a truck wheel.. for the pedal set .. Did you try it by yourself ? How do you know?

Moza looks nice but almost 10X as expensive as other steering wheel setups to get shipped to my country.
Would love to get the TSW, but the wheel + base + pedals equals roughly $3841 in Brazil, and Moza does not ship directly to here, so... guess I'm stuck with my 10 years old G27 =/

The problem with Keyboard is that it’s not the fastest thing and sadly I got no money for wheels so I do have to use the keyboard. One thing tho is that since I got so use to the keyboard it’s really easy for me to use now.
I spent many hours on configuring my mouse steering settings and I must say that it's much better than driving on a controller.

I think I'm 18 I get my driving license and get car and than later getting my truck license so that why I play ets2 on thrustmaster t150 I not see spending that much in a simulator game
