I understand the Apollo x6 would be the same setup as this but my question is am I able to use the 2 additional outputs on my Apollo twin duo in conjunction with my Apollo x6 to make a total of 8 outputs which then allows me to use all 8 summing channels on the dbox? Or is this not possible.

Yes! If you go to the D-Box page on our website (youtube won't let me put links in here) there is a document in the downloads section called "Setting Up D-Box and RME UFX." I know the ff800 is slightly different than the UFX, but the setup is almost identical.
Technically, you can actually use this to compare d/a converters, as long as the signals are level matched. If you put the same signal out of both the Apollo spdif out (feeding the D-Box d/a) and the Apollo analog out (feeding the D-Box analog in), you are listening to the analog outputs of 2 different d/a converters through the same monitoring path.
Summing boxes typically do not have d/a. The only reason the D-Box does is because it's meant to be more of an all in one. Creating multiple stems and them re-summing them might possibly be beneficial, but it really depends on your converters. Unless they are really high quality, you are doing a lot of stages of conversion which will affect signal integrity. That being said, 8 channels of summing is awesome and will give you great benefits by itself.
amazing, I can't wait to set everything up, yes they are good pieces, and old UA urei 1176, Distressors, API 5500 and some speck eq's, but man UAD plugins are just amazing... I wish I could buy them all... lol thank you very much Sr.
Would it be possible for you guys to write a short article or shoot another video with genius FAb Dupont on how to go about this same Tracking/Mixing/Summing set up with the new Apollo 16? cheers
The D-Box would be a great addition to the Omni. The only thing you have to know is that the Omni has an inherent limitation where it only allows you to have 8 outputs at a time. That means that you can only have 6 channels of summing, because you need two channels for the digital output that feeds the DAW input of the D-Box. I have spoken to customers though who are totally content with just the 6 channels of summing.
this is normal- you are comparing two different D/A's (the D-Box and the Apollo) and they are different calibrations, so will be at different levels. If you want them to be matched, you can adjust the mix volume on the print track for monitoring.
It would be a pretty different setup because you don't have the Analog Summing or the D/A with the ST (unless you add the DAC-ST), so it would really just be plugging a pair of the Apollo Line Outs into the ST Input
This is awesome!!! But I am thinking of buying another Apollo interface as UA will deliver an update to allow the ability to cascade two Apollos to increase inputs/outputs - could you please provide a new video explaining how to use a D Box with two cascading Apollo interfaces?
I'd say you are going to hear an improvement over your old setup. I would definitely incorporate the eq's and compressors, as long as they are decent pieces of gear (otherwise just stick with the UAD plugins).
I know this video is crazy old, but I’m trying to figure out if I could mirror this setup with a Focusrite Clarett 8pre Thunderbolt which has a very similar output scheme. I believe you can setup the spdif in Focusrite control to mirror out 1-2 as mentioned here but I’m not sure if I should be going about the routing differently due to any latency discrepancies between the two types of Interfaces. Any thoughts on this would help as my head is spinning with all these connections that are new to me 😳

+1 with William - Can you pretty pls do an updated version w the new Console software? Also, FYI everyone Mirroring the spif in the new console has changed to "DIGITAL MIRROR" which you select on and off fromyour main page in system prefs. Thanks Fab!
Thank you. In what regard, summing amp? I personally use a 2-Bus+ and an original 2-Bus. Often times you'll see the combination of a 2-Bus+ with a 2-Bus LT for 32 channels of summing and the color features on the 2-Bus+. Sometimes someone will prefer just to get two 2-Bus+ units for double tone shaping options. You can also rock a 2-Bus+ with a D-Box for 24 channels of analog summing, with the D-Box handling monitoring duties and D/A conversion for your monitoring path.
very informative video. I finally bought one of these. the only thing i'm wondering is what kind of cable did you use to hook your ipod to the d-box? also, since i have the console application for apollo, would it make a difference if i apply the plugins in the console on the return for the analog summing? or is it no different than placing it on the aux input that the tracks are fed to inside the DAW?
Buy this system pro tools I was looking for something small but high quality. The other option was the apollo but I decided on the pro tools hd. Then I realized what you are saying about the connections that I have limited the omni to expand my setup.
I just got my Apollo Quad w/thunderbolt,macbook pro w/retina running PT10 sweetly fed into a Dangerous D-Box. This is one mighty powerful mobile recording rig! Tracking with fx without latency issues, the digital output mirroring outputs 1 &2 and the analog summing capabilities from the D-Box. I'm good to go!
I had to think through this for a minute. Downside is you have to upload every song if you want to use multiple refs. Then again, you could route your iTunes to the KA6 via system prefs if you want to do that.
I currently have the Apollo, I'm not sure if this set up would benefit me as far as summing stems after the fact. AS far as I'm concerned the conversion on the Apollo is up to par with other units that are priced way higher. I'm still very interested/curious about adding analog summing to my set up!
Almost the exact same. Just the "monitor" outs on Ap16 are XLR instead of TRS and AES out instead of SPDIF (the D'Box receives either in the DAW or CD ins). Use DB25 -> DB25 cable to plug line out 1-8 to the summing input of DBox.... I think it's all the exact same other than the slightly different names. Should be, I do a similar thing with an Aurora16 and use the digital out of my Mac Pro via a little CO2 converter to the "DAW" in on DBox (sum 16 via folcrom).
Please, how it works in an apollo 8 quad? because the new model has only 8 outputs and 4 inputs, so on this video - Summ Outputs from d-box is going to 1-2 inputs of apollo. My question is on apollo 8 quad should be Summ Outputs from d-box is going to 5-6? Thanks
The new apollo 8 quad has 8 inputs & 8 outputs. The new black apollo 8 will hook up exactly the same way. You have 4 mic inputs/ TRS combo and then you have the 4 TRS (the 4 holes) inputs, which equals 8 inputs. Then you have 8 TRS outputs. The Summ Outputs from the d box can go to 5&6 or 7&8. However I wouldn't choose 1-4 (the mic inputs) because this will overload the summ output. I hope this makes sense.
Would a setup like this work between an Apollo 16 and the Shadow Hills Equinox? Possibly even being able to use 2 x Apollo 16s to take advantage of the Equinox's 30 channels summing capability?
i have this setup and i am loving it. now when mixing i send all my channels to the 8 sums and then it goes summed out of the d box back to the apollo. now i havent used any of the plugins through the summing out of the d box into the apollo . do i still have to mute like you said as the sidenote??? i mean when i am recording the summed signal from the dbox to my apollo into my daw am i supposed to mute the ins on the apollo console
Hi there... I used to have a toft atb32 along with motu hd192... then I decided to go for a smaller setup, so I bought the apollo quad and a D-box, I haven't set'em up yet, my question is, would this new apollo/dbox setup sound as good as my previous setup? or hopefully even better? I plan to conect outboard eq's and compressors in between them so add more flavor to the sound, is this a good idea? thanx
You will need 1 8 channel snake with Male DB25 on one end, and TRS on the other end for the Apollo Line Outs to D-Box Sum Input 1 Digital Audio Cable (75 ohm) with RCA on one end and Male XLR on the other end for the SPDIF out to D-Box DAW In 2 Female XLR to TRS cables for the Sum Output to Apollo Line In 2 Male XLR to TRS cables for the Monitor Out to D-Box Analog In And then whatever cables you need for your Monitors You can buy these at your local audio dealer.
In an AVID HD I/O 16x16 analog setup using the DBox, can I go out of the HD I/O to the summing inputs of the DBox via DB25, sum out from the DBox to input 7-8 via XLR into an API Lunchbox utilizing pass thru, out of the Lunchbox via DB25 back into the HD I/O via DB25 using inputs 7 & 8 to print back into PT? Would I be able to use the digital out from the HD I/O to the DAW input on the DBox for monitoring? In a setup like so, how could one utilize the analog inputs on the DBox? Sorry for the million questions, but all I have now is the Lunchbox with a couple of mic pre modules as my only form of hardware and a Focusrite 2i2. Been using PT for years primarily in the box and I would like to take my mixes to the next level and integrate analog summing (the DBox particularly) using PT HD so I can take my sessions into a larger studio in the future. Any feedback is appreciated
I'm not seeing the Control Room Outputs in Pro Tools. I clicked default in the I/O setup in Pro Tools but I'm still not seeing CRL / CRR (Stereo) -> MON L/R that Fab is saying to use instead of S/PDIF. Also, does using "PT Mode" in the Console Interface settings change the setup Fab is explaining?

Hi Guys, coming back for more assistance. Have been using the dbox and apollo successfully after this vid, now my question is, I have a 500 series chassis now, how can I plug it int this equation? Is a deca dent model so it has the db25 input and outputs apart from the normal xlrs. Thanks for your assistance
Depends how you are attempting to use gear in your 500 series chassis. Using DB25 to XLR snakes will be key to accessing inputs/outputs of the 500 series pieces so that you can use them where desired. For example, if you want to use a stereo compressor on your mix buss, you'd need to go SUM output from the D-Box into the inputs of the 500 series piece being used, then the output of that piece into two line inputs of your Apollo (where your SUM output currently feeds). Make sense? Contact us via email or on the phone if you have more questions on it.
Hello! I just bought the HD Native and HD Omni and I would like to know what you recommend or summing box that setup would use to get a lot more out of the Pro Tools HD system
Mogami, Gotham, Canare... All good quality cables.. just make sure its quad cable... The ones Fab is using are called vovox... Great cables base price is 80 for xlr to trs, the DB25 to TRS is about 700-800... You can get all Mogami cables you see in the video for $240 at this link: www.proaudiola.com/product-p/dangerous-dbox-apollo-package.htm
HI , great tutorial !! Dbox its a great piece of gear..... my question is , it is possible in this setup to get more outputs for cue mixes hooking up another interface from the adat out of the apollo? im planning to use the adat ins in the apollo to add inputs from other preamps, no the ones in the interface that i would use to get more outputs , is that possible? ... i hope you can help me , and thanks again for all the tips !
Best guess (I sum & use Dbox, not AP tho) PT Set indiv. ch. outs to Ap's analog out 1-8 (however you divvy them). Then route master ch (or aux) in PT to CNTRL L/R (pretty sure, if not could route it to "spdif", depending on whether you have "mirror spdif/out 1-2" checked in the console.)... And set INs of said master to whatever you physically plugged the DBox sum outs to (analog 1-2 or whatever). When done mixing, route your master channel to a stereo audio ch in PT and print it. Boom.
I have a setup question for you..i have an Apollo and dangerous d box..can i put say an 8 channel preamp between the Apollo and dangerous d box ..would that work? Or damage the signal, is it a waste of time?..

I use a D-box with a Symphony i/o, my problem is when i switch from sum to daw the signal comes extremely loud. Its possible to trim or calibrate the output volume from the daw input to match with the signal thats comes from the summing output? By the way my spdif signal replicate the 1-2 output in my apogee maestro software.
Dangerous Audio/Fab- If I create stems and then sum the stems again for a final stereo print..is that degrading the signal? Also..do all summing boxes have D/A conversion or is that unique to the D-box?
I have everything connected as per this video... When I am in "DAW" mode I can hear and see the playback in console - However, the audio is not going to inputs 1-2 and I am unable to add a compressor or any stereo bus plugins to run the entire mix through... Has anyone else had this issue? Am I missing something. Thanks in advance.
Tried to replicate this set up with Logic-Apollo8-Dbox but for god sake I can't make the I/O channels work the same, no spdf, and the apollo shows something different than the video, analog works but Daw doesn't, any help will be really appreciated
The setup with 2 Apollos would really be the same thing, because the D-Box only has 8 summing inputs, so there isn't really anything on the second Apollo that would get hooked up to the D-Box. If you wanted to use a 2-Bus, that would be a different story...
Great tutorial, I am confused by one thing - Fab says hit DAW input for mixing, would it not make more sense to mix with SUM input ? I would like to be able to hear the effect of summing while mixing, rather than after it is printed...am I missing something? Is the SUM copied to the SPDIF? Not clear on that yet.
Hello, many users will still use plugins on their master bus post-summing so that may be on reason why you'd want to reference and compare the SUM vs. the DAW inputs
@@dangerousmusic After some experiments, if the Apollo Monitor outs are set to monitor input 1&2 and then you use the DAW input on the DBox, you are then monitoring the post sum (with master bus processing if present) the current drawback though is not being able to monitor anything that is not summed. Ideally, I could monitor post sum but also including any audio at the DAW level that has not been assigned to the Sum mix.

i have an apollo but I would like to use it with the dangerous monitor st instead (really like the remote console), anyway someone could help me with how the wiring should go?
synectic You need analog cables for the analog outputs from the Apollo, and a digital cable for the SPDIF output of the Apollo. This document covers all that info: 50.116.63.248/media/hooking-up-d-box-with-ua-apollo.pdf
I got the Apollo but I was thinking that the patch was inputs and they're outputs how do I do the routing matrix in pro tools you recommend do a stereo buss for vocals .. And when I recording I put the Dbox in analog
I have a Saffire Pro 40 and just bought a D'Box. Would this set up work the same with the Saffire Pro 40 since it has 10 outputs? There are 2 dedicated outputs for monitors and another 8 line outputs. I want to be able to track without any latency.
Hello, You can certainly connect the D-Box with the Saffire in the same fashion as the D-Box and the Apollo. However, the zero latency monitoring comes from the Apollo. I'm unsure if the Saffire has zero latency monitoring, so it would be best to check with someone from Focusrite. If you have any other questions, please contact us via email of phone.
No you cannot record anything with the dbox single handedly...1 because it is converter not an interface, 2 because there is no usb or firewire connection to your computer... what kind of audio interface do you own?
I am an actual gigging musician and a teacher so affording an extra $1500 to route the routeing I already have seems, as you would say Fab fruitless. I get the Idea of the summing, but I do summing just by coming out of the Apollo and go back in and I use all the unison pre's like you talk about. I understand I have to do a little setting up but it is essentially the same thing, except you can do it with more channels on just the apollo. 8D
Hey Arthur, The D-Box is more than a summing amp, it also is a monitor controller with a mastering grade reference D/A converter for your monitoring path. RE: Your workflow, are you doing passive summing through a box (different than the active summing in the D-Box), or do you mean you are just routing a stereo signal out from your Apollo and then returning it? If it's the latter, you aren't doing analog summing. If it's the former, it's a very different world than active summing. Give us a call or email when you can so we can discuss. -DMI Support
@@dangerousmusic $1500 for summing, monitor control and high end digital audio converters is still over priced for me. I will stick with saving for the Drawmer CMC3 at $650 it costs less than half and does the job in a table top setup just fine and the converters sound great.
Sure, but that's apples and oranges. It doesn't have analog summing, so it's not like the D-Box. It's more like our Source unit. Comparing the two, the CMC3 has more analog inputs, an extra speaker output, and built in talk back. The Source on the other hand has the better DAC, and actually two of them (two separate digital inputs, can be used simultaneously). If you want something from Dangerous, would be worth checking out. If you go with the CMC3 anyway, we still appreciate you! -DMI Support
i’m using an ensemble thunderbolt but i can’t seem to figure out how to set my spdif, there’s no output. can anyone help me figure out what i’m doing wrong?
Hello, Apollo Twin only has 4 analog outputs so you could not take advantage of the full 8 channels of summing on D-BOX. Please contact us with additional questions - T: 845-202-5100 E: info@dangerousmusic.com
Hello, Mic preamps would feed the analog to digital converter, and then be sent via ADAT through your interface into your DAW. They would not interact with summing. However if that devices has analog outputs, it could be used to feed summing. Please contact us directly for more information.
SilverSulu Just ordered my 2-bus+ and I’ll be using it my x16. Along with my current Apollo 8 blackface and Dbox combo. I can’t wait to hear the 24 channels of summing. Maybe I’ll do a video of the connections.
Dangerous, Because I am a Studio One user, I am waiting for the new Presonus "Studio192" unit they just announced at Messe 2015. It appears to have the same exact I/O set up as Apollo. It's not shipping yet (at the time of this writing), but was curious if you could tell me if it will work the same exact way or what the different variables might be. I've been holding off on the Dbox, but this would make the decision easy!!!!!
Alexis Ortiz hi Alex . Have you tried it for yourself to see if the 192 is compatible with the D BOX. Because I would love a source video or something . The sad part is .. I’ve called the presonus headquarters and couldn’t get in answer . Plz help lol 😎
FAB- I can not figure this out for the life of me. its been months now. when i switch the audio input to daw i get no audio out of the monitors . i have it connected to spdif out of the apollo to the digital input and nothing- the signal is hitting the apollo console meters are ripping away but i get no audio. looped spdif out to in on the apollo and the signal is there. by the way i'm use logic 9.1.8-- i'm thinking a possible routing issue... but i have no idea.
CTRLSHFT yes- everything is set correctly- the damn unit needed a power down. i removed the power cable from the back. waited 10 sec then connected power cable and everything worked. i didn't think of that because 1. theres no power button in the front 2. everything else worked on the box except the "daw and cd input"
Just place the analog compressor between the SUM outputs of the D-Box, and the line inputs on the Apollo. Here is an example: D-Box SUM output -> Dangerous Compressor -> Apollo Line inputs 7-8.
He covers this. Instantiate the plug in in Console (not your daw) on the inputs you are printing your mix to. Make sure UAD REC is enabled. Unless you mean a hardware compressor in with case you would plug the sum outputs of the D-box into the comp and then plug the compressor outputs into the Apollo channels you are printing to.
thinking is having 2 outputs, in most traditional audio interfaces, using summing can be problematic, since we will have run all busses one by one. Does anyone do this way? Is there any dangerous gear with just 2 summing channels for the basic interfaces, where we ca run individual channels one by one? thats would be highly inconvenient but perhaps more affordable to try dangerous equipment for starters like me.
Akshat Mehrotra Analog summing always requires multiple output channels. We usually recommend a minimum of 8 channels. Having 2 channels does not allow you to sum in analog. Just running single channels out and back in one by one will not really give you any benefit, because in the end you are still summing those channels in the DAW.
Dangerous Music i see your point about re summing all tracks in DAW if 2 channels are summed which defeats its purpose. I wish we could demo your products here in India. So I will have to invest on: first an 8 channel Audio Interface and then your summing gear. Cool.
Nearly nine years later this is still a phenomenal tutorial!
Apollo and D-Box combo is an incredible duo!
can you do and up to date video setup with the now dboz and the apollo console 2 please looking how to setup the ins and outs in the console thank you

i have this setup and i am loving it. now when mixing i send all my channels to the 8 sums and then it goes summed out of the d box back to the apollo. now i havent used any of the plugins through the summing out of the d box into the apollo . do i still have to mute like you said as the sidenote??? i mean when i am recording the summed signal from the dbox to my apollo into my daw am i supposed to mute the ins on the apollo console
Would a prism Orpheus be the same setup?
Hi there... I used to have a toft atb32 along with motu hd192... then I decided to go for a smaller setup, so I bought the apollo quad and a D-box, I haven't set'em up yet, my question is, would this new apollo/dbox setup sound as good as my previous setup? or hopefully even better? I plan to conect outboard eq's and compressors in between them so add more flavor to the sound, is this a good idea? thanx
You will need
1 8 channel snake with Male DB25 on one end, and TRS on the other end for the Apollo Line Outs to D-Box Sum Input
1 Digital Audio Cable (75 ohm) with RCA on one end and Male XLR on the other end for the SPDIF out to D-Box DAW In
2 Female XLR to TRS cables for the Sum Output to Apollo Line In
2 Male XLR to TRS cables for the Monitor Out to D-Box Analog In
And then whatever cables you need for your Monitors
You can buy these at your local audio dealer.
can someone list all the cables needed for this set up and where to buy them? thanks
I need the cords to connect i my uad Apollo 8

can you post a video with same setup how you set up the pro tools ch?
What brand of cables are best to use? What kind of cables is Fabian using?
Mogami, Gotham, Canare... All good quality cables.. just make sure its quad cable... The ones Fab is using are called vovox... Great cables base price is 80 for xlr to trs, the DB25 to TRS is about 700-800... You can get all Mogami cables you see in the video for $240 at this link: www.proaudiola.com/product-p/dangerous-dbox-apollo-package.htm
can anyone help me with the routing in pro-tools

HI , great tutorial !! Dbox its a great piece of gear..... my question is , it is possible in this setup to get more outputs for cue mixes hooking up another interface from the adat out of the apollo? im planning to use the adat ins in the apollo to add inputs from other preamps, no the ones in the interface that i would use to get more outputs , is that possible? ... i hope you can help me , and thanks again for all the tips !
Dangerous D-BOX IS AMAZING SOUND *****
Best guess (I sum & use Dbox, not AP tho)
PT
Set indiv. ch. outs to Ap's analog out 1-8 (however you divvy them).

Hello, I have the 2 Bus and a Universal Audio Apollo FireWire, How can I hook up the hard wires cable setup?
Please show me the diagram! Thank You!
Would this set up work the same if I was using a 2-bus+ ?
Dangerous Audio/Fab-
If I create stems and then sum the stems again for a final stereo print..is that degrading the signal? Also..do all summing boxes have D/A conversion or is that unique to the D-box?
I have everything connected as per this video... When I am in "DAW" mode I can hear and see the playback in console - However, the audio is not going to inputs 1-2 and I am unable to add a compressor or any stereo bus plugins to run the entire mix through... Has anyone else had this issue? Am I missing something. Thanks in advance.
Hello, please contact us for assistance - www.dangerousmusic.com/contact
I have the Monitor ST. There is no Spdif input. how would I do this?
Can you upload or point me to documentation on how to connect the Dangerous Music CONVERT-AD+

I don't understand how the talk back function is routed. Just to the Dangerous HP output? My HP outputs go out of my Apollo Console via the Cues.

i have an apollo but I would like to use it with the dangerous monitor st instead (really like the remote console), anyway someone could help me with how the wiring should go?
Incredible!
That was great! THanks!!!
this seems quite obvious, but i want to make sure do you need analog or digital bus cables? what difference would it make to apply one or the other?
synectic You need analog cables for the analog outputs from the Apollo, and a digital cable for the SPDIF output of the Apollo. This document covers all that info: 50.116.63.248/media/hooking-up-d-box-with-ua-apollo.pdf
I have Apollo 16 channel silver its same connection or hook to D-Box?
I got the Apollo but I was thinking that the patch was inputs and they're outputs how do I do the routing matrix in pro tools you recommend do a stereo buss for vocals .. And when I recording I put the Dbox in analog
That makes literally no sense..
it almost makes sense. but i agree Ryan Hyde . i have no idea what David Torres is saying either
I have a Saffire Pro 40 and just bought a D'Box. Would this set up work the same with the Saffire Pro 40 since it has 10 outputs? There are 2 dedicated outputs for monitors and another 8 line outputs. I want to be able to track without any latency.
Hello,
You can certainly connect the D-Box with the Saffire in the same fashion as the D-Box and the Apollo. However, the zero latency monitoring comes from the Apollo. I'm unsure if the Saffire has zero latency monitoring, so it would be best to check with someone from Focusrite. If you have any other questions, please contact us via email of phone.
can i record vocals with this thing connected . and how cause your already using all the inputs . i just want to record a vocal
Hey Arthur,
The D-Box is more than a summing amp, it also is a monitor controller with a mastering grade reference D/A converter for your monitoring path.

Is it possible to use the D-Box with the IK Multimedia ARC 2 system and if so how would I incorporate it into the D-Box and Apollo setup?
Hi George ! Great question. I also have arc2 and want to use it whithin this system. Did it work well for you finally ? Thanks, Felix
I decided not to get it.
How much better is this than using Apollo for summing? Is it golden ear stuff?
crisps clean , best sounding summing
Where can that exact dock be purchased
could you help us how to connect appollo x16 with dangerous dbox
i’m using an ensemble thunderbolt but i can’t seem to figure out how to set my spdif, there’s no output. can anyone help me figure out what i’m doing wrong?
How can I connect the dangerous dbox to my Apollo twin 😩. I would lien to do summing with my twin how can this work someone help.
Hello, Apollo Twin only has 4 analog outputs so you could not take advantage of the full 8 channels of summing on D-BOX. Please contact us with additional questions - T: 845-202-5100
E: info@dangerousmusic.com
Hello. I have a question. If mic pre's are connected via adat will they be summed by the D-box? Or would a 2bus or 2bus + be better?
Hello,
Mic preamps would feed the analog to digital converter, and then be sent via ADAT through your interface into your DAW. They would not interact with summing. However if that devices has analog outputs, it could be used to feed summing. Please contact us directly for more information.
Is there any documentation covering D-Box set up with a Presonus Studio 192? I'm currently having this integration issue 😩
Dean Giroir I can help you with that
Very good
Thanks Fab!
Can someone please recommend an iPod dock with a digital output that isn't $300!!
Thanks
Be awesome to get this updated to 2-BUS+ and Apollo x16
SilverSulu
Just ordered my 2-bus+ and I’ll be using it my x16. Along with my current Apollo 8 blackface and Dbox combo. I can’t wait to hear the 24 channels of summing. Maybe I’ll do a video of the connections.
@@RodneyD Excellent! Can't wait to hear about it.

Be here tomorrow 😀 😀 😀
yeah rather interested in this, gotta check out some A/B's
Dangerous,
Because I am a Studio One user, I am waiting for the new Presonus "Studio192" unit they just announced at Messe 2015. It appears to have the same exact I/O set up as Apollo. It's not shipping yet (at the time of this writing), but was curious if you could tell me if it will work the same exact way or what the different variables might be. I've been holding off on the Dbox, but this would make the decision easy!!!!!
Ben Orlando Did you purchase these two units? I have the same set up and was wondering if you were able to hook everything up correctly🙂
Nope, sorry I can't help. I went with a different set up all together.
it will
Alexis Ortiz hi Alex .
In the Console settings> Outputs is S/PDIF Mirrors Monitor checked?
CTRLSHFT yes- everything is set correctly- the damn unit needed a power down. i removed the power cable from the back. waited 10 sec then connected power cable and everything worked. i didn't think of that because 1. theres no power button in the front 2. everything else worked on the box except the "daw and cd input"
Having this setup, how can I add let's say an analog compressor in the stereo mix bus?
Cool.
Thank you 👍👍👍👍
does this also work with the apollo twin?????
+Ed Myszkier Why would you want it for an apollo twin? :) You can't sum anything as it only has 4 outs 2 of which are monitors.
massive attack at the intro... :) great.
This is very informative and f***ing hilarious. Omg you will notice my computer is made by a fruit company!
