    Summary:
    1) Important thing for the young architect is to care for the people they are designing for. A good design is a careful design and a bad design is a careless design.
    2) Architecture is the Art and Science of accommodating life.
    3) Young architect should learn the tools and languages to interact with Common people

Oh my god....what a revelation. Thats is just pure genius. Is design theory and Architecture and building theory that out of whack, that this is considered some supreme wisdom.

"You have to care" and "We (architects) are here to build for all of human kind". He is very focused on the "user". Brilliant speach - I must hear it again soon

Aside from the actual content of Ingels' monologue I thoroughly enjoy hearing him speak in a rhythm that reminds me of Bjork's speech patterns. Those wonderful pauses as they both think about what they are about to say in English (not their native tongue).

Bjarke Ingels is what an architect should be..He is compassionate about his client, work and world as a whole. Would love to work with him for one of my future projects.

Interesting speech as always. I like that Bjarke is theoretically pretty adept as well. Just a wee corection...species also optimise their niche, they are simply adapting, they are adapting the context as well. Beavers are ecosystem engineers for instance.

The utmost important question running through my mind is: "Did Bjarke Ingels quote Spider Man on purpose?"
If so... I feel even more curious about him.
BIG creates really some of the most innovative projects of our time... Thanks for some advice!

Build for all humanity and build for eternity - but also give back to nature, society and the world, the space the building is placed on. Those are the highest maxime of any structure.

Architecture embodies a people's values, wisdom, mythos, technical knowledge, and distinct culture. It embodies the human soul itself with zero hyperbole. Architecture can/should act as a tool for the spiritual ascension of a people, and as a means to raise their base standard of living. The most important thing you can do is to know and develop yourself, and build upon your knowledge and wisdom - only then will you be able to see the world as it can be, as it ought to be, and begin designing it accordingly. Bit deep... but if you're an architect, then at the very least just design something that inspires people and makes their lives easier. Also, don't be afraid to demolish a beloved dump (cough cough medieval Paris cough cough). Everything can be better. Everything.

I think its just the state of modern architecture, glass towers and replica modern apartment buildings with no style are rife. seems like architects are restricted from interacting with the pulic, people like old architecture for its balance and proportions not cus its old. The complete lack of symmetry is baffling and must only come from minimising costs.

Aybek Ogobaev I don't think you are even watching to the title of this video. I'll repeat it here again
Bjarke Ingels: Advice to the Young.
He is not going to explain the techniques to design architecture but just advice. And i believe the urban planning shown just a background.

Philosophy is phylosophy...dualism, Aristotel and etc. Urban plannig must include first of all knowledge and understanding of coommercial part of city and city laws. All over it - making fancy one day decicions. *flies away

Like a lot architectural discourses, this is a mix of inspirational grandstanding and word salad. Sometimes I wish architects would talk less and just keep designing.

If he designed the whole time during this interview, this wouldn't be an interview.
This is not a presentation of his design process and solutions. He has to answer the questions at hand.
