That trunk is something special. Just incredible fabrication ability. Your offer to help people is a tremendous credit to your integrity. You helped me without a second thought when I was installing my system in model s in 2018. Couldn’t have done it without that help. The car audio community is miles better because of people like you.
What was the power source, since these cars don’t have alternators? And how many amperes does it supply?
Absolutely amazing job Matt
Nice work Matt. As always. Respect
True master craftsman! Amazing work!!
Crazy impressive Matt, wish you could show us some video of the owners reaction too.
Great explanation! Thanks for sharing your knowledge about the Tesla Model 3 ultimate audiophile stereo upgrade. Your enthusiasm for high-quality audio is contagious and has inspired us all to explore new ways to enhance our car's sound systems. We appreciate your dedication to creating the best listening experience possible and look forward to more informative content from you in the future. Keep up the good work!
Hey Matt. Podcast is great.
I have to say that you never dissapoint on any of your installs ,very classy and precise.Good job sir!
Thank you sir!
Amazing job like alway 👍👌🏻🔊
Can't wait to see this masterpiece !💪👀
Hi Matt, I absolutely love your content. I know you're in the US - some of us are in Europe. Maybe down the line it would be good to have a certification program for tuners in the EU that can offer your services locally on the back of your expertise. Absolutely love this.
Awesome work as always!
Thank you!
I would really like to see how you actually fabricate the pillars. I know that there are many videos on a pillar fab but, I would like to see how you go about it. 👍
Can we get a tutorial on how to install multiple amps, for the DIY’er? More importantly, the integration of the higher 15.5 volts. TIA!
This is one of the most beautiful things I've seen on yt, great job! I've just ordered my very first Tesla (2024 Model 3 LR) and I'm already thinking of what I could do. I currently have a 1800W system in my Mitsubishi Lancer sportback, and am concerned about the electrics of audio builds in a Tesla. Does the factory step-down transformer (from the main to the 12V battery) play well with bigger current draws for a system like this? I read somewhere that too large a current draw may cause faults in the factory electronics. Is this something you had to deal with for this build?
Q: Since the speakers arent sealed to the inside cabin, will you lose Bass, or pressure since the cambin isnt sealed from the trunk?
work of art man
Thanks bro!
These are some amazing builds! Any recommendations for a more budget friendly 3 way set for the common folk? Audio Frog GB series perhaps or some Focals between 1K-2K for the set. Thanks!
Another sick install. I take it you used the HLA-SUM to get access to an input for the AK DAC?
Awesome!! Can I have a link to the Astell & Kern SP3000 DAP? Thanks in advance!!
Wow, this upgrade looks amazing! I love that it includes a subwoofer too. The sound quality will be incredible. Thanks for sharing this informative video! 😍 #TeslaModel3Upgrade #AudioUpgrade #SoundQuality
Another Masterpiece
Hi Matt, I've got a new Model 3 LR with the 16v power. From my old car, I've got 12-14v compatible equipment. What are my steps to connect it in the new Tesla? I assume a stepdown is needed. Can I use a capacitor block (say Sinfoni Power 300) instead lithium batteries? My amps are a handmade 1.5kWrms 6 channel amp for RS audio Stream 3way, and Steg k 2.04 that feeds RS DVC Competition 12 inch sub. DSP is Resolut T.
If only I had the money to get an install like this. I'm always pinching pennies and doing my own installs. But that is some phenomenal work. I'm not worthy
u sould include video of owner reaction
Have you ever notice those hidden storage areas get hot when owners using the sound system and my question is would you create sort of like air ducts that give cooling from the Teslas AC and harness that cold air and let it radiate where the amp and those Titan batteries are hidden at. And the magnetic pieces that come off is so genius 🔥🔥🔥 and going with the French Focal speakers 😚💥 sound shielding too so nice creating a quieter cabin. Like I would go more subtle and work with the chasis of Teslas
This upgrade is a game changer for anyone who loves their car's sound system! The Tesla Model 3 Ultimate Audiophile Stereo Upgrade is a must-have for any audiophile on the road. Highly recommended!
Did you scrape up all the factory spray-in insulation before laying down the soundshield?
Hi. On preset 2 or 3 do you still hear the sound of blik lights and parking sensors?
Would be great to see a component listing in the description.
All the components are listed in the video
How way to installing an audio auxiliary input in my 2022 Tesla model Y?
Nice work. Have you done any with the new 16vdc? Do you isolate the system?
Yes. We have many videos of us doing systems on the 15.5v platform.
Hey Matt, beautiful build as always. Quick question, if you would have sealed off the front of the enclosure to the cabin instead of venting back in the trunk, wouldnt that have created more pressure/ bass for the listeners in front? Kinda like ib with a sealed enclosure behind the woofers?
Remember. In this case the seats are always folded up. Therefore we need some space to vent into the trunk and to the pass through. This would be the case if the back seats were not there.
@@therealmatty_s great thnx for the reply! By the way, love the Audiofrog/ Andy episodes on the podcast! When is he going to release that upmixer? Im ready to start working on a 2 seat tune!lol👍
How much this exact set-up would cost ?
How much did this all cost ? I wanna get some custom thing done to my model 3 as well
How much would a system like this cost
Awesome job didn't know you can install class A amps on Tesla model 3 do you use some kind of isolator or charger for those lithium batteries?
The most important job is how to manage the DC power from the battery bank 16v
A current limiter device is need
How much does a full custom job like this go for?
Anyone know how the bass (re)produced from the Focal M Series 10s compare to the bass from the JL w6, or w7s? 🔊 🔊
I have the Utopia M 8” in my model 3. I’m having trouble with the crossovers for the mids (K2 KX3 mids n tweeters) where do you have the crossovers set to for each speaker and what are the measurements for the time alignment? I feel like mine don’t all hit at the same time
You would need a measurement device to find your crossover points and time measurements. Putting a number in for a crossover is only for a safe starting point. Each speaker will react different in each car based on where it’s mounted and reflections in the vehicle. Therefore crossover points are always different from car to car. Crossover points are even different from left to right. You need a measurement device to know how to set it
@@therealmatty_s got it! I measured the distance from door to door but the left woofer closest to me sounds boomier than the passenger side. I’ll try changing the left to right crossovers to balance this. I just finished sound treating the doors
@@nickvanp4740 blindly changing cross over points is not the answer. Unfortunately you need a program like REW with a mic or a measuring device like JL audio MaxTun to see how the signal is playing in the car.
When you have all the time alignment, phase and EQ correct you shouldn’t be able to single out any speaker in the car.
@@therealmatty_s I have a JL VX600/6i so the max should work out
Analog from A&K then A/D filter, EQ, etc then D/A in the DSP. Why not digital out from DAP?
Multiple reasons here. First is that I would only be subject to 24/96 - 24/192 files (depending on the dsp). I would not be able to play any DSD files that I may have since we are capped at what the DACs processing is. Secondly, we have A/B compared going digital in with 24/96 track and had a second preset using analog in (utilizing the DACs of the player). It was a night and day difference of going analog in with separation, width and depth. Going analog in gives us the ability to play any file format while having the benefit in added separation, width and depth. Hope this helps.
Tesla will be moving to a 48v architecture in the near future. How will that affect these types of installs?
Yup. Manufactures will have to adapt.
Once the hardware is available, this is actually a good thing.. more efficient power for less current, smaller gauge cables required.
You didn’t play it? 😅 I know it’s hard to appreciate the sound whilst watching on a computer or phone but still people want to see that but! 🙂
You only have 4 channel summing? Is this not a premium audio Model?
What leads you to believe I am summing only 4 channels? The front stage is an active 3 way. So 6 channels for the front. 2 for the rears. And 2 for the Astell. We are using a HLA sum on the front mid and tweeter to give us 2 outputs to free up 2 inputs on the DSP.
Looks fantastic. Shame he is riding glasshouse, may want to tint those windows.
💪🔥💪🔥💪
They don’t soundproof the floor because there is a huge battery under there that soaks up all the road noise.
How much would this cost?
I would guess $15k-$20k. Focal Utopia is off the charts in price.
@@6ixbanger dayum
@@6ixbanger it’s way more than that. Equipment alone is nearly $15K. Install cost would add about the same, so closer to $30K.
the sound deadening and the addition of the extra pieces of gear will affect driving performance and such though - i'm doing my own model 3 at the moment and just the sound deadening material in the back half has had a noticeable impact.. still worth it
How about a demo sound? Having fancy high end speakers and equipment is great, but how does it sound?
A demo through UA-cam? How does that work. Lol.
@@therealmatty_s PSSOUND does it all the time. And the sound is amazing on UA-cam. I'm sure 1000x better in person.
@@6ixbanger I don’t do it for the fact of some people actually thinking their phone speaker is an accurate representation.
