- This music "La misionera" is originally composed for the piano by "Fernando Bustamante" and arranged for Guitar and played by the guitarist "Lily Afshar", the record is taken from her CD "Hemisphere" .....
There is also a famous arrangement for "Jorge Morel" ...

I went to school with Lily at the Boston Conservatory Of Music and remember with great clarity how driven she was and how she would not get enough sleep. We had the same initial teacher, Neil Anderson. She was clearly on a path to victory. Bravo, Lily you are Spectacular!!

Lily’s playing is artistically brilliant in technique and dynamics . I am taken aback that no credit was given to Jorge Morel who adapted this piece back in the sixties and whose video can be seen on UA-cam . Great Argentinian guitarist . Let’s give him credit . RIP !

Todo bien. Pero Misionera es una -polca-galopa. Se percibe claramente en la obra. Y todos cometen el error de rasguearlo como HABANERA.
Asi mismo, es música paraguaya, polca-galopa.

gracias por el dato, estaba buscando juntar dos solos de guitarra de musica paraguaya, uno era llanto en la selva que es una polka paraguaya y me acorde de misionera dicen que es de un argentino pero el ritmo es el de una polka paraguaya.
bueno yo soy de Perú pero hay muchos extranjeros que hacen canciones en tiempo de vals peruano tambien y el que es musico sabe distimguir a donde tira el ritmo

Soy la hermana de Jorge Morel. Cristina Scibona. Me siento muy apenada por lo que ha hecho esta Joven atribuyéndose el arreglo de Misionera cuando en el ambiente guitarrístico todo el mundo sabe que hace más de 40 años mi hermano hizo el arreglo de Misionera. Mi sobrina Francesca Scibona, hija de Jorge debería ocuparse de ésto pues no es ético lo que hace esta mujer.

Efectivamente. Hay otro video en YT de un guitarrista haciéndole un par de cambios menores al arreglo de Morel y diciendo que es suyo. Parece que es costumbre

@@jaungiga Hola Santiago, soy la hermana de Jorge Morel y tal como tu dices, ese arreglo lo hizo mi hermano hace 50 años aproximadamente. Y lo han tocado cientos de guitarristas.

La verdad, nadie dijo que es una cosa muy grande. Simplemente es un areglo de una musica famosa para disfrutar. No voy a discutir la interpretacion de maestra Lily, no soy un experto.

Me gusta mucho esta interpretación! Es una gran cosa porque me ha dado algunos minutos de alegría.
Además de ser muy pobre la interpretación el arreglo es de mi hermano Jorge Morel,
esta joven está cometiendo un grave error ético, todo el mundo sabe que el arreglo de Misionera es de Jorge Morel hace más de 40 años. Pienso que se aprovecha pues mi hermano hace 1 año que murió.
Su hija Francesca Scibona debería saber de ésto. Una vergüenza.
