Except LOGIC is not Andy's forte. Logic can defeat stats at times. Andy is an obvious bigot, and bigotry is selective, just as is racism.

He also said it is actually to early to have this discussion. Everyone who is not denying the fact that sports is about records and wins (like who cares about guys with a nicer running style when it is about who is the fastest sprinter e.g.) knows already he is the GOAT. I really enjoy it every year more and more how ridiculous the explanations are why he is NOT the GOAT. Look at Mcenroe and Chris Evert. True alphas who have no problem to look at the facts and say it, obviously not dependent on a presstitute job creating a "boat" just because it is not welcome to praise him.

Phenominal skill ??? Djokovic has in his later career a very very good well rounded game ; i mean he beats ALL his young rivals in 2023 simply because of his well rounded game - he can play any part of the court UNDERPRESSURE - all the rest cannot ( except maybe Alceraz) - this and a weak field generally the last 4 years sees him out gun & outlast the other two

it is just so much easier to win today, in most of the relevant sports, records have been broken constantly in recent times. Take F1 till 1987, Jackie Stewart was record-holder with 27 wins, then Alain Prost extended his record to 51 wins till 1993, obliterated it, nobody though it could be brooken. Along came Michael Schumacher, 91 wins, destroyed the record again. For sure - unbeatable for 1000 years. 1 generation later Lewis Hamilton, still driving reaches 100+ wins, still driving. Now this will last forever. Wait a minute .. Max Verstappen has won 16 races this year, 53 in total, and is only 26 years old. At this pace not only will he easily break the all-time record but might even reach 200 career wins. And this same argument could be made many other sports, particularly all the winter sports, alpine skiing, cross country skiing, biathlon, speed skating, (Hirscher, Shiffrin, Sven Kramer, Ireen Wüst, Brörndalen, Böe, Björgen, Klaebo, etc etc etc) had their all-time records in several categories pulverized in the past 10 years.
So it is trend to be found in many, many sports that record breakers have become increasingly pre-eminent in recent times. Dont ask me why. In a world of growing competitiveness and bigger competition one would rather expect the opposite to happen. Maybe this would be a nice question to be answered in a thesis by sports-science students.

IF CAN be applied when opposing biases and prejudices pushed by the ATP and ITF (and WTA in women's). Had Clay been played on as much as hard court (I can't say grass because it is only used in the UK and a few others), Rafael Nadal would be THE GOAT. Rafael would have won quite a few more majors, masters, 500's and Olympic gold(s). Likely a few Finals but not too many. Winning more non-majors would have given Rafael the motivation and focus to win more on other surfaces. 2. Until the ITF and ATP and Others look deep (bank accounts, transactions, cell and computer use including public ones) into the possible Bribery of the top two hundred (200) since at least 2022 to lose to Novaq, the Bribery is and has happened. White people will dismiss this, and also those non-White who want to be White. It is brainless to believe tennis is the only major sport where cheating is not allowed. The question “what do you think” by itself implies personal preferences with endless debates. If there’s not a committee that can establish the criteria for “greatness” then there’s no goat. But if there is, they can’t certainly use criteria like “beauty”, “sportsmanship” because, remember, “beauty is in the eye of the beholder”, so they’ll have to use numbers, and, in that case, Djokovic clearly wins the tittle.

Tennis, like any other sport, is competitive. Tennis players fight for victories on the court, for titles in tournaments, for cups and medals. The matter is simple. Whoever collects the most titles, in the strongest competitions, is the best. End of story. If it's about beauty, grace, likeability... Determine the criteria, then organize a competition in those disciplines, maybe a competition for the best favorite of the audience or journalist or ... all that is fine, but when it comes to the competition, undoubtedly and without any discussions Novak Djokovic is the best tennis player of all time. Maybe someday someone will surpass him, but until that happens, Novak is the best tennis player who ever picked up a racket. Anyone who tries to disprove it disqualifies himself. These are either people who hate Novak or love someone else. They wanted to reduce Novak, so that they, or their pets, would "grow". Bro, it doesn't work that way. You don't become great by convincing someone of your greatness, either you are great or you are not.

  • @dakarcrew2-437

Novak Djokovic is, above all, human greatness, he has united virtues that few can boast of. He is a realistic person, who loves people and the world, he does not hate even those who persistently want to harm him and steal what belongs to him. And that is that he is the best tennis player in history. He is actually one of the best athletes in general. His talent may not have been so pronounced and dominant when he played in the younger categories, but that makes him even more the best of all time. You are born with talent and with hard work and mental qualities you become the best. He did exactly that, he came to the limelight when Rafa and Fed were at their peak and managed to reach and overcome them both. It is also necessary to take into account the circumstances and the position they had at the beginning of their journey to conquer the world of tennis. To compare the conditions for playing tennis in Spain and Switzerland with the conditions in Serbia where tennis hardly existed as a serious sport. It's funny to say the least. First of all, Novak had to overcome the circumstances that surrounded him and in which he grew up. He then had to defeat his opponents on the field. In the end he had to do the hardest thing, beat himself to become better than the best. Versatility and adaptability are also virtues especially in sports. He had to change his game to beat Rafa and Federer Novak succeeded in everything he set out to do. He was able to improve his clay skills to beat Rafa. God knows how hard it was to achieve. He had to do the same on grass to beat Federer. He succeeded in both missions and that alone makes him the greatest. Getting better than the best on their field when they're in the prime of their careers is something we don't often witness. When we add to that all the other numbers and records in Novak's hands, it is easy to state that Novak is the best player in the history of tennis. As a comparison, Tennis is a significantly more complex sport than, for example, table tennis (the tables on which the game is played are standardized all over the world), unlike tennis, where there are many different surfaces because the same surfaces are of different hardness and speed. The achievement of playing equally well on all surfaces is unheard of in the history of this game. Novak is also unique in that. Not recognizing Novak as the best of all time and not loving him and respect as a person who has done a lot of good for sports, the young players he helps and people he doesn't know (he pays for medical treatment and operations, finances the construction of sports fields, kindergartens, school equipment, helps the poor ...) is malice, hatred and mental disorder. You sick people learn to live with it. While Novak writes history, you rot in your wickedness.

A lot of people hold some sort of attitude based on I feel instead of I think. On other words you might as well judge someone on their smile instead of what they've achieved. Also, I wonder if the other greats were born as Novak was, out of western(read prejudice) aggression. As Nole began his career he lived under the ever present threat of an early death, killed along with other Serbians by American bombs.
He achieved his greatness despite such a threat, he has achieved his wonderful goals by being steady in his self belief. He could rely on lesser players approbation, he just got on with it , no matter whether he was liked or not. He's not only the best he genuinely deserving of the goat title, unless or until someone can beat his record sometime in the future. I wish that super human luck, they're going to need more than just that. Lastly, Laver achieved his double grand slam pinnacle despite prejudice against his need to become a professional in the face of amateurism. He is respected and lauded on that basis while Novak has togain approval over prejudice despite his dominant record. Once Jimmy Connors was considered unbeatable, until they discovered ways to beat him, well he survived 109 titles, and that should be his record as a player, not his manner or smile.
I think Nole will for ever now be the measuring stick in this game of tennis. Other sports measure greatness by records too, basketball anyone, soccer another and so on.
Novak deserves GOAT in Tennis and long may his record stand.

People can argue or fans between themselves, but that wont help nobody. The facts are clear. I liked Federer statement, very respectful towards Novak, he knows for quite some time now, that clearly is gonna be Novak. I understand Nadal, he was in the race but only in slams, teoreticaly he is still is, but all other results doesnt come close to Novak, Its obvious that Roger is second because of his grace and beauty. Im joking of course, its because he is more dominant in results than Rafa all around, no doubt. Novak Djokovic firmly holding first position of greatest player of all time. Can we just hold for a second and think, the guy hasnt won all 4 slams in one year,

Tennis is an individual sport, facts are on display, no room for personal interpretation. It's about accepting or not accepting those facts. Someone's bias can't change facts and they are more than clear. Simply put - *Novak is the current tennis GOAT with no doubt at all based on the simple fact that he is holding the greatest records of all time, period.* If someone doesn't want to see it, it's only that someone's issue.
Should absolutely be only about stats. Big titles, slams, masters, weeks as No1 etc.
    Stats are not disputable.
This isn't gymnastics where you get points for style neither a popularity contest...
    2️⃣4️⃣ Grand Slams🏆🎉
    4️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ Weeks No🥇🎊
    7️⃣ Year-end Championship titles
    4️⃣0️⃣ ATP Masters 1000
    8️⃣ year-end No. 1 finishes
    The undisputed tennis GOAT 🐐🎾
Only biased and salty fools can argue at this point.🤦‍♂️

I know the comment section favors Djoker by a mile, which is fine. If someone wants to say that Djoker is the greatest, then I can understand that. He had the most successful career. For me, however, Fed will always be my favorite, and that isn't me trying to hate on Djoker. I just remember being a kid watching Fed in his prime, and he was pure magic. Winning 15 slams in 6 years and having the most consecutive weeks as number 1 is something that is overlooked a lot. I think that, even to this day, Federer may have been the best at his best. There's obviously no way to prove that, and that still may not be enough to make Federer the GOAT if that's true. I think it's a shame that he fell off so quickly though; he was a candle that burnt too bright and too fast.

the goat isnt about numbers or stats or really even wins, (tho those things are part of it). the real measure of the goat is one who captures the hearts minds and imaginations of the era: think ali or michael jordan, neither won the most fights or most titles, but each is considered the greatest of all time. similarly, federer is the goat: did he win the most titles, no, but he above all others captured the hearts minds and imagination of all of use tennis fans to the greatest degree. he is the goat.

fact is that N.J. have won more G.Slam that anyone and maybe get more before retirement, so by numbers is the best of history.
But i consider also truth that he start winning RF and RN when injuries diminished play levels of the last two and not when they where at their maximun level.
Now whitout RF & RN, Nole is alone at pinacle of faculties between arising and growing players wich is a very favorable scinario for his achievents facing the next 2 years. ( my stimation)
So if he don't get any serius injurie, perhaps could get easily 2 or 4 more G.Slam before retirement for a total of 26 or 28 or more.....amacing.

Poor Novak, I'm not a Novak fan, like at all, but now they are trying to figure out different terms so as not to give him the GOAT title. I mean, please, at this point the conversation is moot. My favorite player, ever, is Wawrinka. Period. But I think even Wawrinka would agree that the GOAT is none other than Novak. Did I say I'm far from being a Novak fan, yes I did. Bordering on Novak hater ha ha. But there comes a time, when the results, the stamina, the will power.. speak. NOVAK is the GOAT, the BOAT, whatever term they want to use or make up to not fully credit or recognize him. There i said it. Ha ha 😂😂😂

It means that numbers alone don't say everything about a player. Djokovic wins his battles mostly off the court, with his nutritional and physical discipline which he adopted due to health issues earlier in his career, therefore he has a mental edge over other players, many of whom have more tennis talent than him but simply lose due to lack of focus and being impatient, getting overly excited over winning a set or two against him. They fist-pump and celebrate way too early. Lorenzo Musetti for example should have beat him in Roland Garros, he's an amazing talent, probably the most talented one together with Carlos Alcaraz. It's a sheer delight to watch him play. But he didn't keep up the determination to see it through. He is too playful, not a bad thing for it shows his love for the game, but it's not efficient enough in order to beat the other guy. Djokovic's nutritional discipline also makes it easier to read his opponents' next move. He is mega-rich already, so there's no need or pressure to achieve anything. All he has to do is wait until the other guy makes a mistake. After losing to Alcaraz in Wimbledon he got very emotional and said himself that maybe he had won a few matches that he shouldn't have won. Like the one in Wimbledon in 2019 against Federer for example, where Federer had two match points and right before the serve for the first match point some idiot in the audience screamed: 'Go Roger!' - He jinxed it. It was Federer's match, he scored way more points than Djokovic, but what can you do....Needless to say, Djokovic deserves a lot of respect for what he achieved in his life, through thick and thin, growing up amidst so much political turmoil. He learned to fight with all resources, better than anyone else - his success is well deserved. --- However, in terms of raw & natural tennis talent, nobody can reach Federer, although Alcaraz is outstanding of course. When Federer touched the ball, something beautiful emerged from the strings of his racket, not just power and precision. Dominic Thiem called it 'Magic'; you can call it anything you like, it doesn't matter. He didn't need to bounce the ball a thousand times or stand in perfect symmetry awaiting his opponents serve; he was a natural. More than anyone else. He didn't need attention or a spectacle. He also didn't need to urge the crowd to applaude, why? - Because it wasn't necessary, they applauded by themselves. It's pretty boring how every dude on the court nowadays feels the need to urge the audience to applaude. It's like saying: 'Hey, come on, clap your hands so I can fool my ego into believing that I am special'. Most of nowadays tennis is based on sheer force of impact. Boris Becker pointed it out very precisely, that what's missing in tennis today is the setting up of points. A thousand balls are hit across the net, with lots of speed and power, but there's nothing special about that. - Federer is for tennis what Buddy Rich is for drumming. When Buddy started a solo, only playing a drum roll or some diddley-doo on the hi-hat - the audience almost immediately started clapping. Why? Because what he did was special, and they could feel and witness the energy he exuded on the drums. Same goes for Federer. He just went on to the court and served, sometimes winning games with aces only. Aces which came so naturally, one might wonder if he had an invisible string attached to the point of impact. So, to argue about some GOAT title is quite dull, superficial and meaningless. Because no title, and no amount of titles is ever gonna determine someone's talent. I am pleased that Richard Gasquet and Stefan Edberg agree with that, together with many others I suppose. Beauty and grace. - Ask Rafael Nadal, he is one of the few professionals who will genuinely tell you in all honesty how great Roger Federer's talent was and is. And I admire him for that. Anyone who is trying to win more titles than someone else in the hopes of being considered better or greater does so because they actually know deep inside that they aren't. Numbers can't do that. Plus, in the end, it's not important enough of an issue. People should focus on their own lives. That's much more important :-)

Yeah right, Roger played tennis just to prove his talent and not to win! describe talent my friend? what does talent in Tennis means and how it reflects on the game, and second question..what is the point of the Tennis game? why professional Tennis Players all over the history played and competed?..not just in Tennis game, in all sports all together, even in card games, even in Monopoly!?!? 😬
There are 3 categories of people in Games..1: Winners 2: Losers..and the third category is "sore Losers"..
First two categories are natural, normal and healthy and that's why sports and games still exists today, there is a point, on the other hand "sore Losers" will make Games and Sports to lose their point of existence by manipulating the simple rules and values of sports to fit their own needs, and will kill the sports and point of the Games at the end 🥸
You should try Fashion section next time 😉
