+Blackkadder l 1080 is a poison that the Department Of Conservation drop through our mountains to kill all the animals, it also kills a lot of birds and causes plagues of rats that in turn eat more birds...
+Josh James Kiwi Bushman They dont kill rats? Are they resistant? And why do they want to kill literally everything? I know that there are alot of invasive species in NZ but kill em all?
+Machinee it kills rats but they are the first animals to bounce back, and their populations reach higher levels than before the area was poisoned. Their stated intention is to rid the country of pest species and protect our native species particularly birds. Unfortunately 1080 kills everything from bugs to birds to introduced mammals
easier said than done sometimes when the river rocks are very slippery, you have just hiked 10 km in challenging terrain and are fishing water you are not used to, everyone seems to be a couch expert and happy to critisize people who are out there doing it, pushing their limits and getting better with every cast. A positive word can go a long way Hank
Howabout a bit of encouragement, we cant all be experts like yourself can we. Did you just pick up a fly rod and become an expert caster without learning any techniques and practicing? did you just manage to tie all the required knots the first time you tried? Did you ever push your personal boundaries and boldly go where you have never gone before and put yourself on the screen in front of thousands of people? Antonio did, and he gets better with every cast.... so next time you comment - put yourself in the persons shoes and say something nice. Cheers, Josh James
Josh James Kiwi Bushman maybe if you'd explained he was new to it at the beginning it might be viewed differently but you presented him with a case of flies that he apparently tied himself, like he's some kind of expert, or at the very least, experienced. Happy to encourage anyone and I have certainly done more than my fair share of long treks into the bush to chase trout.
