In 1986 I worked at a small country station in Danville, IN. We got a press release that Keith was coming to Indianapolis. I thought we should promote it, give away tickets, etc. There was a number on the press release. I thought, I'll call this and see if I can get any more information, maybe an interview and, to my surprise, Keith actually answered the phone. And some of these comments allude to the fact that he really was a super nice guy. Invited me to the after concert on his bus. Was very nice to me even though I didn't know a lot about him or country music at the time. Stupidly, I let some conflict get in the way and didn't meet up with him and a year or two later he was gone.
My Mom passed recently...I was never a "country music" fan...but in 1998..she gave me a cassette tape for my travels from illinois to Russia ...Im thankful for that tape..
