But she wouldn't lie about consequential things, rules or plot points in the show. At most she's evasive or finds loopholes in her wording. Lying to the fans about the show in this way (I.E. someone asks her if Jax will die, she says no, he dies, there's no coming back, no loopholes to be found, it's perma death) Would be bad storytelling and an insult to fans of the show, and Gooseworks ain't about that. Now, lying visually, or in the show, is another thing. She's not lying, a character is, or we were purposefully meant to misinterpret a scene, like plot twists and all that. People take Gooseworks saying that she lies, and believe that means she's lying about anything and everything, including what we know from her mouth to be canon, when it is in fact, the show will make you perceive some thing, when it's just a flashy distraction for a bigger problem under the surface.
Sometimes though...the calmest and light hearted episodes end up being the most psychologically damaging. I mean "Queen Bee" and "Western Energy" were supposed to be "bonus episodes" and light hearted fun compared to the heavy "Stolitz" stuff, but they're both where we saw Loona treated the worst and both episodes...rather hypocritically treated HER as the problem even though she has admitted the whole reason she's angry all the time is because people keep treating her badly because they assume she's a terrible person. It lead to a lot of extremely hateful comments about her because no one in the show came to her defense. and ironically, despite being the episode that gave us the lovely Beelzebub, Season 1 Episode 8 is often panned as the hardest to sit through for Loona fans, especially with the trauma she suffered as a child, both explained in that episode AND Seeing stars (Vikki, the mean dog literally says that Loona's old owner got rid of her because he thought she was crazy and mocks her when she puked, then when Loona calls her out for making fun of her, everyone yells at Loona for calling her a b8tch, only to hear Beelzebub, the host herself, call her that (granted Bee wasn't being insulting, but it kind of reinforced the double standards people have for popular people vs nobodies.) BUT it seems in response to all that, Viv actually seemed to retcon all that as now we see Loona is not only a huge fan of Bee, but has hosted several parties and even invited Vikki to a few of them before deciding she's too egotistical to be worth hanging with anymore. and all that happened off screen. So who even knows, this "Calm before the storm" episode may be the one that people keep going back to over and over again just to make sense of it.

Lots of possibilities, but like Digial Void said, Her line about "I hate you, but I want you to like me" may be a hint, since the episode did open up wtih them arguing like an old couple and Jax even saying things like "Why do I always have to be the bad guy?" as if he genuinely wants Ragatha to respect him. and yes he's aware of his jerkish behavior before as he says shortly after "If I did that on purpose I'd have been glad and bragged about it!" you couldn't hear him in the episode, but Gooseworx deliberatley uploaded the whole argument and it kind of reveals a LOT more about Jax than most thought. that his bullying isn't a result of sadism, but actually has a purpose.
I'd like to be positive and hope it's a response to whether she hates Jax but idk I feel like he'd fuck up badly in some way with his unacceptance of his emotions and because he likes to derail/change adventures from their intended scenario

A sadist can and will do things on purpose to entertain himself (or otherwise satisfy his desires), but they can also slip and do something by accident instead. I personally don't think the "purpose" here changes too much of who he is. It depends on how you interpret "on purpose". In general it just means "I meant to do that" for xy reason, which, as mentioned, can still just be him having fun.

Honestly this makes sense to me. They seem almost like perfect opposites, where Jax is a dickhead who’s honest about it, whereas Ragatha is nice to the point of disingenuousness. As such, exploring both characters at the same time seems like a great character opportunity

On glitches channel in the video "POMNI WAKE UP WERE GOING ON A ADVENTURE!" There was a screenshot of a unfinished set that looked like a stadium of some sort for like baseball or softball. And in ep4 Ragatha, Jax and Gangle are playing softball. It makes me wonder if the next episode not just stars Ragatha and Jax but it's around a sports like episode where they have to compete against a team.
Goose did say that people getting attached to the evil ragatha would make episode five much more interesting, so my theory along with this idea is that maybe the other team will be alternate versions of the characters/parallel versions
I do keep thinking back to that moment in ep2 where during Pomni's dream we see specifically only Ragatha and Jax next to Cain. Sure, this was only a dream, but it still feels like it's hinting at something. The more I think about it, Ragatha and Jax are really kind of two sides of the same coin in many ways. One is overly hostile with the other being overly friendly, both of which possibly being a front for their own personal issues.
One thing I noticed is, after her stupid sauce reference I watched the source being raggedy ann and andy and noticed something interesting. Ragatha and Jax share aspects of them. Ragathe being obvious but jax has a similar voice and dungarees to raggedy andy. Maybe I'm looking too into it but, it does make you think; especially if they came to the circus together. Like either they were in a relationship before they put the headset on or maybe twins? So if they were together, why would he hurt ragatha? Well besides a coping mechanism or sibling rivalry, Jax clearly doesn't see consequences to his actions and their past memories do get wiped a bit on entry. Maybe Jax being the opposite of ragatha who helps others as a means to cope herself. The stupid sauce probably acts like drinking where your true self is shown and typically your true self is often the opposite of how you actually act. While Jax would end up possibly vulnerable and scared, Ragatha could end up aggressive, easy to influence and not caring at all. Which makes what Goose said in the video make sense if they are a dangerous pairing. Because ragatha under stupid sauce is pretty much Jax 2.0 and what's worse than 1 jax? How about another without any boundries?

Here's my theory on what's gonna happen in Episode 5: Ragatha will be costantly walking on the eggshells, fearing that the stupid sauce incident might reveal her as a monster to others. It would be kinda funny if Ragatha becomes distrustful of others projecting their good faith as a shallow politness she always resorts to (especially if she doesn't remember EXACTLY what slipped of her tongue and how others reacted to her). And maybe at some point Ragatha's anger will be unleashed in the worst way not just at Jax, but at everyone (maybe she'll even say a couple of 'boink'-'bloop'-'pop' words... something she never did so far)... And after coming to her senses, Ragatha would totally shut down scared and embarrased feeling that she just lost all her friends because of that episode. And for a crowd-pleaser like her that might be the worst thing ever that might end with her abstraction. But then Pomni plays the shrink again (this time with Ragatha)... however that doesn't work this time (Ragatha is too distrustful of everyone because of her own deseats). Maybe Ragatha says out loud that she never actually forgave Pomni abandoning her - and we see Ragatha getting abstracted in real time right before Pomni's eyes. Yes - I believe we will lose Ragatha in episode 5 (right at the end... as a cliffhanger). That would devastate Jax - and really give him something to contemplate about in Episode 6. It will also shift the tension for the second half of the season. I mean - we already went past midpoint and resolved conflict no 1 (Pomni's introduction to the world of the Circuis) now it's time to set the ongoing conflict number 2 that has to be much darker with higher stakes than conflict number 1: Will the characters hold? Is there any way to restore oneself after the abstraction?
@Madieeeeee We saw in episode 2 that he takes abstraction very seriously. Combined it with the fact that he always took Ragatha for granted trolling her every time he could, but never taking advantage of her (like when she was drunk) - that might jump-start his issues in a New way and make him much more volnurable than we're used to see him.
Well, Goose said that both Episode 5 and 6 will be Jax and Ragatha focused AND that Episode 5 will be one of the more lighthearted episodes (if not the most lighthearted episodes). So all that you said could happen...but the inciting incident would be Episode 6...not 5 since Ragatha and Jax are confirmed to be in 5. Also...the whole Ragatha holding a grudge for Pomni ditching her in Episode 1 seems like a stretch. I think she understood that Pomni needed to save herself given the circumstance. And then in Episode 2 she questions to Kinger if Pomni likes her, and Kinger says that she probably does but is having a hard time adjusting to everything. Then in Episode 3 Pomni flat out tells Ragatha that she's sorry she didn't make it clear that she appreciates Ragatha being nice to her... The point I'm making is at this point...I don't think Ragatha thinks Pomni hates her. That would be a bit...weird I think right?! Hopefully that makes sense! lol :P
I'd like a "personality swap" episode where Jax tries to be nice for a change, and Ragatha is just mean. I think more likely Jax will probably try to continue building a friendship with Pomni or might even do "something nice" for Gangle or Ragatha after episode 4, only for all three of them to reject it and he immediately goes back to bullying them or something while the other characters are trying to help Ragatha with her addiction or her addiction gets worse and she starts acting even worse than last episode. Bonus if Kinger is involved in both of these plotlines. theres a lot of fun ways they can do two episodes about Ragatha and Jax tho, so I think no matter what, the community will be eating happy when they release.
and the fact that at the beginning of episode 4 Ragatha was teaching Gangle how to throw a ball, it makes me think she was into sports before she went to the circus
Wow. The fact these next 2 episodes are basically build ups for *both* characters is very interesting to me. They'll probably have a huge conflict with one another is my guess -shrug- I'm mostly excited to see what happens *after* the character episodes. I heard that Jax is gonna do something pretty unforgivable and that's probably whats gonna cause those mystery episodes to occur >:]c! Very excited to see what happens. (great video btw! I'm starting to think Jax's unforgivable mistake is going to be abstracting someone, likely Ragatha or maybe even Kinger. Regardless who, I imagine he'll only realize the true weight once it's to late, making things dangerous for him.

A weird idea that I've had bouncing around my head since Episode 2 is Ragatha being an NPC that slipped by Caine. She seemed kinda nervous about Gummygoo being brought back. And Caine straight up implies this is something that has happened before. In Episode 4 she gets affected by the "Stupid Sauce", a "sauce" that we see works on NPCs. And isnt it odd that she references Raggedy Ann and Andy, a fictional story, while under the influence and seemingly recalling elements of her life? Yeah it's an direct reference/easter egg, but Gangle recalls elements of her life and she isn't reciting lines verbatim from a manga or webcomic. Maybe she's an NPC from a toy or doll themed adventure and her in-universe personality is based on that cartoon. Hell, shes the only main cast member whose entire character is based on a single reference and not some random word or surface level trait. And Goose's nervous laughter about Caine not being able to control minds would make sense if its because Ragatha is a part of the "game" and while Caine can't control "PLAYERS"/people he CAN affect NPCs and game assets. Hence the "Stupid Sauce".
There's one more teaser for Episode 5 that I think is very important: Goosework replied to fanart of evil Ragatha on Twitter saying "People getting attached to this evil version of Ragatha is gonna make Episode 5 so much funnier". And Episode 5 being confirmed to have Ragatha as a focus only makes this more suspicious. My theory for how things will play out is Episode 5 will be all fun and games with Ragatha slowly breaking down in the background until a cliffhanger ending where she finally snaps and becomes an antagonist, which leads into Episode 6
In Episode 5 of TADC, I predict that Jax and Ragatha will tàlk about their problems with eachother to hopefully get why they do this to random people, and to hopefully understand eachother more (if Ragatha doesn't have the Stupid Sauce anymore)
I think Ep 5 will be Ragatha trying to be extra nice because she’s horrified by what she said under the influence of the stupid sauce. But this only makes her feel extra “fake” to everyone else and just puts extra pressure on her. Maybe she won’t be in danger of abstraction immediately, since this is supposed to be a lighter episode, but it’ll set it up for possibly episode 6. Meanwhile I wonder if Jax is still suffering from the “brainwashing” effects of episode 4, which were weirdly underplayed there. Maybe he wants to put on his usual jerk attitude but can’t muster the will/energy for it, and this makes him feel extra vulnerable. In episode 6, Ragatha will be in danger of abstracting, and Pomni (and maybe others) will have to actively calm her down (versus when Pomni just happened to stop Gangle from abstracting by helping close the store). Jax, however, WILL fully abstract because he’s just that closed off and can’t accept help. But that won’t be the end of Jax. This series has a lot mental health parallels and I think one of those parallels will be learning to help someone recover from a bad mental breakdown/episode of psychosis, which abstractions could stand in for. So the following episodes will be trying to find a way to treat those with abstraction rather than just shoving them away in a cellar like Caine does. Speaking of Caine, I think he’s in danger of abstracting himself. He’s more and more unstable and keeps glitching out. More importantly, remember how Kinger said that the worst thing you can do to someone is make them feel unloved? Well everyone actively spurs Caine and his adventures, and it seems like that’s getting to him, judging by the “therapy” in episode 3. So I think the cast will need to learn to care about Caine as well, and that will be the real ticket out of the circus (or, if they can never leave because they’re just digital copies, they’ll use that to build a better world for them to live in)
This is highly reminiscent of one specific jax line we were teased way back. Which is him say "i want you DEAD!!!" Or something like that. Whooo boy. This can be interpreted in a lotta ways. Jax could be shouting this out loud as a joke to mess with someone cuz dark humour exists,he could LITERALLY have his nerves off towards someone and genuinely not want to talk to them or even hear them breathe....and,well....yeah! But again,like always, it's not a matter of what or when.... it's a matter of WHO. The sooner we can unravel who jax is referring to (Pomni and kinger are already off the table... though Caine is a bit Sus to me) the better chance we'd have to recognise the mood of this [no can-do attitude] phrase.

Considering how Jax tried to use Pomni as a bridge in episode 2 and Pomni expressing suspicion when Jax asked her how she was doing, i would say that Pomni definitely has a negative impression about Jax.

I think those two have the most interesting dynamic of the characters. They were put into roughly the same situation (trapped in a digital world in the bodies of toys with little to no memory of who they are with a bunch of other people in the same boat), yet had completely different reactions. Ragatha chose to be a leader and be strong for the others, while Jax chose to be a jerk who dealt with everything around him by bullying others. After some of the development we saw from Jax in the last episode, I'm curious to see what happens next (for a lot of reasons).
tbh i kind of view them as having a sibling like relationship since theyre based off the brother and sister dolls from the movie raggedy ann and andy are from with their designs/jaxs voice/ragathas physics and they fight like siblings (experience) i doubt theyre related but maybe they came into the circus within a small time of each other? anyway everyone can ship whatever im just so excited for the episodes >_
I think since ragatha has always tried to be someone the other circus members can lean on for support, then seeing that Pomni has taken up that role instead, as well as her hurtful comments under the influence of the stupid sauce, it will lead to some real drama Maybe since jax seems to be a lot more casual and less sadistic in episode 4, those two might have a heart to heart about wanting to be more or different than how you’ve set yourself up to be
I think Ragatha is addicted to the stupid sauce, and in this way this will be a silly episode. Either everyone's gonna get high or they will have to get Ragatha sober.
I know Gooseworx confirmed that Jax and Ragatha would share the spotlight in Episodes 5 and 6, we already knew this at least partly with the tweet from months ago where we knew Ragatha would have a focus in the 5th episode and Jax would have his in the 6th, but it makes me wonder. Since Ep5 is supposed to be more light hearted it makes me wonder if they're still keeping that same sentiment from the original tweet, but the episode focuses on the two's relationship but slightly leans to Ragatha on the 5th and slightly more to Jax on the 6th, and if things are gonna get darker in episode 6, and with Jax still going to be a focused on character, it makes me wonder what direction they'd go. Not to mention we'd need to watch Jax's behavior in episode 5, and see if we notice anything off from how he's typically been acting, in comparison to after he had his training re-evaluation in episode 4, and to see if that was him just being tired from the whole day, or if something stuck

Zooble and Gangle remind me of Loona and Octavia. Two backgroundish characters, one judged constantly (negatively) by her looks and thus her cynical nature that's a response to the negativity and the other extremely insecure about her duties and situation slowly standing up for each other when they realize they're kind of in the same boat.
Ok but like, imagine a Jax ragatha prank war that shows us a different side to ragatha where she's a menace when she let's herself be? Probably not what will happen but I can hope
I feel that's only half right. Like JJ Abrams is obsessed with the whole "Mystery Box" thing yet he can't end a story to save his life and people have rightly criticized his approach to story telling multiple times. On the other hand...science fiction is basically just fantasy where everyone pretends to understand how the magic works...but compared to real life, its all still just made up stuff...what makes it magical...ironically...is that you believe that its possible or real in some sense (same applies to fantasy mind you! As religion is a pretty credible concept for a reason!). (Look at a show like TTGL for example, its very high sci fi but most of its concepts aren't explained in much depth, so it ends up giving off a strong fantasy vibe as a result. Same for Star Wars...albeit to a lesser extent but still! :O)

I have a feeling that according to the others you are lying about yourself…” And she’ll reply “…not anymore.” With this answer it isn’t clear which one of the things she answers and this way she probably would feel more secure. Or she could that about her self to Pomni and say something like “I was also worried and scared when I entered the circus but… not anymore. I realized that if I’m kind and helpful maybe I’d prevent you and the others from having a bad time…” She’d say something like that too because as Kinger said she had a difficult time at first in the circus. But yeah both of those stuff are possible. Please tell me in the replies if I made any mistakes or you have a 3rd theory on why she would say that.
My personal headcannon is that Cain borrowed Kinger’s hands to keep Jax still during his remedial training and that’s why Kinger’s solo adventure was represented as bull riding.
I wonder whether it will turn out that Jax previously had an emotional connection to a character and that characters abstraction turned him into a nihilist. So now he is afraid to form any attachments to characters he feels he will inevitably loose, hence why he behaves the way he does to push them away. As well as a "I'm on a sinking ship, so I may as well have fun as it goes down" attitude. It would also explain why he was seemingly indifferent to Kaufmo's abstraction and funeral, since he has essentially considered everybody to have already been lost for some time already. In his mind, he's already done all the grieving for other characters and has moved on.
the way Jax and Ragatha go back and forth and bicker im wondering if they were both a couple as humans or considering that theres hints that ragatha was wealthy she could have been set up with Jax who was from another wealthy family.
Hmmm given their ages, more like Ragatha adopted him as an adult. I thought about it and it may be like how Blitz (who's also in his mid 30s) adopted Loona (who was 17 at the time of adoption but is 22-23 now.) Jax is also about 23 and Ragatha is in her 30s. Too young to have given birth to him, but old enough to have maybe picked up a kid who lost both his parents and gave him a chance. When I see it that way, I think I can better see why Jax acts the way he does. Just like Loona, a troubled teen who isn't trying to be a bad person, but is trying not to let himself get too emotionally attached for fear he'll lose even more. The parallels are there (and like with Loona, "only true Jax fans will still like him" is so true.... having to fight off the numerous incels who think Loona's a terrible person cause she isn't a "model daughter" to them.)

While reading the comments, I suddenly had the idea of a DID system ending up in the circus and being split into multiple characters. How strange would that be to see someone that previously only existed in your head. Would they be completely separate characters or characters that could join together? Now I want to see that so badly but I don’t trust myself to properly represent a condition that I have no experience with. Any systems out there want to do something with this?
IF this is true,the only noticeable thing is that there's no longer any need for Gangle to worry about her comedy mask getting shattered since she no longer has any need for one.

But she wouldn't lie about consequential things, rules or plot points in the show. At most she's evasive or finds loopholes in her wording. Lying to the fans about the show in this way (I.E. someone asks her if Jax will die, she says no, he dies, there's no coming back, no loopholes to be found, it's perma death) Would be bad storytelling and an insult to fans of the show, and Gooseworks ain't about that.
Now, lying visually, or in the show, is another thing. She's not lying, a character is, or we were purposefully meant to misinterpret a scene, like plot twists and all that. People take Gooseworks saying that she lies, and believe that means she's lying about anything and everything, including what we know from her mouth to be canon, when it is in fact, the show will make you perceive some thing, when it's just a flashy distraction for a bigger problem under the surface.

I was relieved when goose said that the one revolving around ragatha was silly and light but that relief was immediately taken away again
Sometimes though...the calmest and light hearted episodes end up being the most psychologically damaging. I mean "Queen Bee" and "Western Energy" were supposed to be "bonus episodes" and light hearted fun compared to the heavy "Stolitz" stuff, but they're both where we saw Loona treated the worst and both episodes...rather hypocritically treated HER as the problem even though she has admitted the whole reason she's angry all the time is because people keep treating her badly because they assume she's a terrible person. It lead to a lot of extremely hateful comments about her because no one in the show came to her defense. and ironically, despite being the episode that gave us the lovely Beelzebub, Season 1 Episode 8 is often panned as the hardest to sit through for Loona fans, especially with the trauma she suffered as a child, both explained in that episode AND Seeing stars (Vikki, the mean dog literally says that Loona's old owner got rid of her because he thought she was crazy and mocks her when she puked, then when Loona calls her out for making fun of her, everyone yells at Loona for calling her a b8tch, only to hear Beelzebub, the host herself, call her that (granted Bee wasn't being insulting, but it kind of reinforced the double standards people have for popular people vs nobodies.) BUT it seems in response to all that, Viv actually seemed to retcon all that as now we see Loona is not only a huge fan of Bee, but has hosted several parties and even invited Vikki to a few of them before deciding she's too egotistical to be worth hanging with anymore. and all that happened off screen.
So who even knows, this "Calm before the storm" episode may be the one that people keep going back to over and over again just to make sense of it.

Lots of possibilities, but like Digial Void said, Her line about "I hate you, but I want you to like me" may be a hint, since the episode did open up wtih them arguing like an old couple and Jax even saying things like "Why do I always have to be the bad guy?" as if he genuinely wants Ragatha to respect him. and yes he's aware of his jerkish behavior before as he says shortly after "If I did that on purpose I'd have been glad and bragged about it!" you couldn't hear him in the episode, but Gooseworx deliberatley uploaded the whole argument and it kind of reveals a LOT more about Jax than most thought. that his bullying isn't a result of sadism, but actually has a purpose.
I'd like to be positive and hope it's a response to whether she hates Jax but idk I feel like he'd fuck up badly in some way with his unacceptance of his emotions and because he likes to derail/change adventures from their intended scenario

A sadist can and will do things on purpose to entertain himself (or otherwise satisfy his desires), but they can also slip and do something by accident instead. I personally don't think the "purpose" here changes too much of who he is. It depends on how you interpret "on purpose". In general it just means "I meant to do that" for xy reason, which, as mentioned, can still just be him having fun.

On glitches channel in the video "POMNI WAKE UP WERE GOING ON A ADVENTURE!" There was a screenshot of a unfinished set that looked like a stadium of some sort for like baseball or softball. And in ep4 Ragatha, Jax and Gangle are playing softball. It makes me wonder if the next episode not just stars Ragatha and Jax but it's around a sports like episode where they have to compete against a team.

I do keep thinking back to that moment in ep2 where during Pomni's dream we see specifically only Ragatha and Jax next to Cain. Sure, this was only a dream, but it still feels like it's hinting at something. The more I think about it, Ragatha and Jax are really kind of two sides of the same coin in many ways. One is overly hostile with the other being overly friendly, both of which possibly being a front for their own personal issues.
One thing I noticed is, after her stupid sauce reference I watched the source being raggedy ann and andy and noticed something interesting.
Ragatha and Jax share aspects of them. Ragathe being obvious but jax has a similar voice and dungarees to raggedy andy.
Maybe I'm looking too into it but, it does make you think; especially if they came to the circus together. Like either they were in a relationship before they put the headset on or maybe twins? So if they were together, why would he hurt ragatha? Well besides a coping mechanism or sibling rivalry, Jax clearly doesn't see consequences to his actions and their past memories do get wiped a bit on entry. Maybe Jax being the opposite of ragatha who helps others as a means to cope herself.
The stupid sauce probably acts like drinking where your true self is shown and typically your true self is often the opposite of how you actually act. While Jax would end up possibly vulnerable and scared, Ragatha could end up aggressive, easy to influence and not caring at all. Which makes what Goose said in the video make sense if they are a dangerous pairing.
Because ragatha under stupid sauce is pretty much Jax 2.0 and what's worse than 1 jax? How about another without any boundries?

Here's my theory on what's gonna happen in Episode 5:
Ragatha will be costantly walking on the eggshells, fearing that the stupid sauce incident might reveal her as a monster to others. It would be kinda funny if Ragatha becomes distrustful of others projecting their good faith as a shallow politness she always resorts to (especially if she doesn't remember EXACTLY what slipped of her tongue and how others reacted to her).
And maybe at some point Ragatha's anger will be unleashed in the worst way not just at Jax, but at everyone (maybe she'll even say a couple of 'boink'-'bloop'-'pop' words... something she never did so far)...
And after coming to her senses, Ragatha would totally shut down scared and embarrased feeling that she just lost all her friends because of that episode. And for a crowd-pleaser like her that might be the worst thing ever that might end with her abstraction.
But then Pomni plays the shrink again (this time with Ragatha)... however that doesn't work this time (Ragatha is too distrustful of everyone because of her own deseats). Maybe Ragatha says out loud that she never actually forgave Pomni abandoning her - and we see Ragatha getting abstracted in real time right before Pomni's eyes.
Yes - I believe we will lose Ragatha in episode 5 (right at the end... as a cliffhanger).
That would devastate Jax - and really give him something to contemplate about in Episode 6. It will also shift the tension for the second half of the season. I mean - we already went past midpoint and resolved conflict no 1 (Pomni's introduction to the world of the Circuis) now it's time to set the ongoing conflict number 2 that has to be much darker with higher stakes than conflict number 1:

@Madieeeeee We saw in episode 2 that he takes abstraction very seriously. Combined it with the fact that he always took Ragatha for granted trolling her every time he could, but never taking advantage of her (like when she was drunk) - that might jump-start his issues in a New way and make him much more volnurable than we're used to see him.
Well, Goose said that both Episode 5 and 6 will be Jax and Ragatha focused AND that Episode 5 will be one of the more lighthearted episodes (if not the most lighthearted episodes). So all that you said could happen...but the inciting incident would be Episode 6...not 5 since Ragatha and Jax are confirmed to be in 5.
Also...the whole Ragatha holding a grudge for Pomni ditching her in Episode 1 seems like a stretch. I think she understood that Pomni needed to save herself given the circumstance. And then in Episode 2 she questions to Kinger if Pomni likes her, and Kinger says that she probably does but is having a hard time adjusting to everything. Then in Episode 3 Pomni flat out tells Ragatha that she's sorry she didn't make it clear that she appreciates Ragatha being nice to her...
The point I'm making is at this point...I don't think Ragatha thinks Pomni hates her. That would be a bit...weird I think right?!

I think more likely Jax will probably try to continue building a friendship with Pomni or might even do "something nice" for Gangle or Ragatha after episode 4, only for all three of them to reject it and he immediately goes back to bullying them or something while the other characters are trying to help Ragatha with her addiction or her addiction gets worse and she starts acting even worse than last episode. Bonus if Kinger is involved in both of these plotlines.

A weird idea that I've had bouncing around my head since Episode 2 is Ragatha being an NPC that slipped by Caine.
She seemed kinda nervous about Gummygoo being brought back.
And Caine straight up implies this is something that has happened before.
In Episode 4 she gets affected by the "Stupid Sauce", a "sauce" that we see works on NPCs.
And isnt it odd that she references Raggedy Ann and Andy, a fictional story, while under the influence and seemingly recalling elements of her life? Yeah it's an direct reference/easter egg, but Gangle recalls elements of her life and she isn't reciting lines verbatim from a manga or webcomic.
Maybe she's an NPC from a toy or doll themed adventure and her in-universe personality is based on that cartoon.
Hell, shes the only main cast member whose entire character is based on a single reference and not some random word or surface level trait.
And Goose's nervous laughter about Caine not being able to control minds would make sense if its because Ragatha is a part of the "game" and while Caine can't control "PLAYERS"/people he CAN affect NPCs and game assets.
Hence the "Stupid Sauce".

Shes not an NPC
There's one more teaser for Episode 5 that I think is very important: Goosework replied to fanart of evil Ragatha on Twitter saying "People getting attached to this evil version of Ragatha is gonna make Episode 5 so much funnier". And Episode 5 being confirmed to have Ragatha as a focus only makes this more suspicious. My theory for how things will play out is Episode 5 will be all fun and games with Ragatha slowly breaking down in the background until a cliffhanger ending where she finally snaps and becomes an antagonist, which leads into Episode 6
In Episode 5 of TADC, I predict that Jax and Ragatha will tàlk about their problems with eachother to hopefully get why they do this to random people, and to hopefully understand eachother more (if Ragatha doesn't have the Stupid Sauce anymore)
I think Ep 5 will be Ragatha trying to be extra nice because she’s horrified by what she said under the influence of the stupid sauce. But this only makes her feel extra “fake” to everyone else and just puts extra pressure on her. Maybe she won’t be in danger of abstraction immediately, since this is supposed to be a lighter episode, but it’ll set it up for possibly episode 6.
Meanwhile I wonder if Jax is still suffering from the “brainwashing” effects of episode 4, which were weirdly underplayed there. Maybe he wants to put on his usual jerk attitude but can’t muster the will/energy for it, and this makes him feel extra vulnerable.
In episode 6, Ragatha will be in danger of abstracting, and Pomni (and maybe others) will have to actively calm her down (versus when Pomni just happened to stop Gangle from abstracting by helping close the store). Jax, however, WILL fully abstract because he’s just that closed off and can’t accept help.
But that won’t be the end of Jax. This series has a lot mental health parallels and I think one of those parallels will be learning to help someone recover from a bad mental breakdown/episode of psychosis, which abstractions could stand in for. So the following episodes will be trying to find a way to treat those with abstraction rather than just shoving them away in a cellar like Caine does.
Speaking of Caine, I think he’s in danger of abstracting himself. He’s more and more unstable and keeps glitching out. More importantly, remember how Kinger said that the worst thing you can do to someone is make them feel unloved? Well everyone actively spurs Caine and his adventures, and it seems like that’s getting to him, judging by the “therapy” in episode 3. So I think the cast will need to learn to care about Caine as well, and that will be the real ticket out of the circus (or, if they can never leave because they’re just digital copies, they’ll use that to build a better world for them to live in)
This is highly reminiscent of one specific jax line we were teased way back.
Which is him say "i want you DEAD!!!" Or something like that.
Whooo boy. This can be interpreted in a lotta ways. Jax could be shouting this out loud as a joke to mess with someone cuz dark humour exists,he could LITERALLY have his nerves off towards someone and genuinely not want to talk to them or even hear them breathe....and,well....yeah!
But again,like always, it's not a matter of what or when.... it's a matter of WHO.
The sooner we can unravel who jax is referring to (Pomni and kinger are already off the table... though Caine is a bit Sus to me) the better chance we'd have to recognise the mood of this [no can-do attitude] phrase.
2:41 tbf those lines weren't specified, so abstracting someone on purpose might still be on the table. Gooseworx probably didn't specify because it could spoil future plotpoints, but the vagueness can still be telling.
Considering how Jax tried to use Pomni as a bridge in episode 2 and Pomni expressing suspicion when Jax asked her how she was doing, i would say that Pomni definitely has a negative impression about Jax.
Theory with no proof: Ragatha came off the stupid sauce a while ago, she is just pretending to be intoxicated by it to have an excuse to be more honest.

I think those two have the most interesting dynamic of the characters. They were put into roughly the same situation (trapped in a digital world in the bodies of toys with little to no memory of who they are with a bunch of other people in the same boat), yet had completely different reactions. Ragatha chose to be a leader and be strong for the others, while Jax chose to be a jerk who dealt with everything around him by bullying others. After some of the development we saw from Jax in the last episode, I'm curious to see what happens next (for a lot of reasons).

I know Gooseworx confirmed that Jax and Ragatha would share the spotlight in Episodes 5 and 6, we already knew this at least partly with the tweet from months ago where we knew Ragatha would have a focus in the 5th episode and Jax would have his in the 6th, but it makes me wonder. Since Ep5 is supposed to be more light hearted it makes me wonder if they're still keeping that same sentiment from the original tweet, but the episode focuses on the two's relationship but slightly leans to Ragatha on the 5th and slightly more to Jax on the 6th, and if things are gonna get darker in episode 6, and with Jax still going to be a focused on character, it makes me wonder what direction they'd go. Zooble and Gangle remind me of Loona and Octavia. Two backgroundish characters, one judged constantly (negatively) by her looks and thus her cynical nature that's a response to the negativity and the other extremely insecure about her duties and situation slowly standing up for each other when they realize they're kind of in the same boat.
Ok but like, imagine a Jax ragatha prank war that shows us a different side to ragatha where she's a menace when she let's herself be? Probably not what will happen but I can hope

I feel that's only half right. Like JJ Abrams is obsessed with the whole "Mystery Box" thing yet he can't end a story to save his life and people have rightly criticized his approach to story telling multiple times.
On the other hand...science fiction is basically just fantasy where everyone pretends to understand how the magic works...but compared to real life, its all still just made up stuff...what makes it magical...ironically...is that you believe that its possible or real in some sense (same applies to fantasy mind you! As religion is a pretty credible concept for a reason!). (Look at a show like TTGL for example, its very high sci fi but most of its concepts aren't explained in much depth, so it ends up giving off a strong fantasy vibe as a result. Same for Star Wars...albeit to a lesser extent but still! :O)

And she’ll reply “…not anymore.” With this answer it isn’t clear which one of the things she answers and this way she probably would feel more secure. Or she could that about her self to Pomni and say something like “I was also worried and scared when I entered the circus but… not anymore. I realized that if I’m kind and helpful maybe I’d prevent you and the others from having a bad time…” She’d say something like that too because as Kinger said she had a difficult time at first in the circus.
But yeah both of those stuff are possible. Please tell me in the replies if I made any mistakes or you have a 3rd theory on why she would say that.

My personal headcannon is that Cain borrowed Kinger’s hands to keep Jax still during his remedial training and that’s why Kinger’s solo adventure was represented as bull riding.

I wonder whether it will turn out that Jax previously had an emotional connection to a character and that characters abstraction turned him into a nihilist. So now he is afraid to form any attachments to characters he feels he will inevitably loose, hence why he behaves the way he does to push them away. As well as a "I'm on a sinking ship, so I may as well have fun as it goes down" attitude.
It would also explain why he was seemingly indifferent to Kaufmo's abstraction and funeral, since he has essentially considered everybody to have already been lost for some time already. In his mind, he's already done all the grieving for other characters and has moved on.

the way Jax and Ragatha go back and forth and bicker im wondering if they were both a couple as humans or considering that theres hints that ragatha was wealthy she could have been set up with Jax who was from another wealthy family.
Hmmm given their ages, more like Ragatha adopted him as an adult. I thought about it and it may be like how Blitz (who's also in his mid 30s) adopted Loona (who was 17 at the time of adoption but is 22-23 now.) Jax is also about 23 and Ragatha is in her 30s. Too young to have given birth to him, but old enough to have maybe picked up a kid who lost both his parents and gave him a chance. When I see it that way, I think I can better see why Jax acts the way he does. Just like Loona, a troubled teen who isn't trying to be a bad person, but is trying not to let himself get too emotionally attached for fear he'll lose even more. The parallels are there (and like with Loona, "only true Jax fans will still like him" is so true.... having to fight off the numerous incels who think Loona's a terrible person cause she isn't a "model daughter" to them.)

What if Caine causes abstractions when he gets “bored” with certain characters
While reading the comments, I suddenly had the idea of a DID system ending up in the circus and being split into multiple characters. How strange would that be to see someone that previously only existed in your head. Would they be completely separate characters or characters that could join together? Now I want to see that so badly but I don’t trust myself to properly represent a condition that I have no experience with.
Any systems out there want to do something with this?
