Outlander is a worldwide phenomenon that has affected the lives of millions of people. Next month, the University of Glasgow will be holding the first academic conference devoted to the books and show, with Diana Gabaldon giving a keynote. Sam Heughan and Caitríona Balfe have played leading roles in the success of this whole enterprise. They are great ambassadors for Outlander and for Scotland.
We have many Scot’s coming to the small town of fergus in Ontario to celebrate the Scottish Highland Games and it’s culture in the past and the present. Fergus festival has some outlander cast coming here to our small part of the world and I’m Pumped!!!
The best casting decision in the history of television . Both are extraordinarily gifted and perfectly cast in these roles. They are the glue that holds this series together. Epic accomplishment !
Bailey: years ago when I first discovered the books and avidly awaited the next to come out at my local bookstore, I honestly believed there would be no way they could EVER cast Jamie. But they did. The lady clerk asked if she could help me and I asked if the new Outlander novel was in just sighed, “Jamie … !” To which I articulately responded, “Oh, yes! Jamie!” We looked knowingly at each other and then she helped me find the then most recent instalment. I am so glad I was found to be wrong. Sam is perfect casting as is Catriona Balfe. To respond to the lack of awards for the two of them. I was gob smacked when Sam did not receive awards for that epic performance during the torture and rape scenes at the hand of Captain Black Jack. Menzies as well. Those must have been the most gruelling scenes to perform ever. The novel are the best “ ripping tales “ novels that are the speediest page turners ever. Gabaldon’s 800 page (on average) novels provide the speediest page turners in my reading experience.
They BOTH need BAFTAS! They're waiting too long and are beyond deserving! Great interview that answers some of the questions that I hadn't seen answers to from Stateside interviews.
The real stand-out great thing about this show for me is the genuine feeling romantic love story with fantastic chemistry, especially between lead actors Sam Heughan and Caitríona Balfe. It's sadly missing in media today within movies and TV shows and great to see again with incredible acting :-)
They are super amazing and love OL i watched it after mom died in 2014 and love Mr. Heughan and ms Balfe and love all they have done they inspire me always and are super expectional and bring this world joy and love these two earth angels.
I agree with lots of comments excellent actors SH and CB amazing and they showed the world how beautiful Scotland is and deserves more recognition.Long live the Outlander amazing beautiful and unforgettable 😊🎉😊❤
Wonderful conversation! #SamHeughan and #Caitriona Balfe are Outlander, and terrific Ambassadors for Scotland. The show has not only increased the awareness of Scotland’s beauty, history and culture for viewers around the world, but also expanded the TV and film production capabilities and tourism. Kudos to the entire cast and crew for their hard work and dedication to this incredible show!
I watched all seasons of Outlander in about three weeks, from mid-May to early June this year. Once I started watching, I couldn't stop until I watched everything.
This is probably one of the best interview Caitriona has given. She has allowed Sam to speak. Finally!!! She didn't monopolized the whole conversation. This is simply great!
She has allowed him to speak? Seriously, you want her to shut up so you can just listen to him. Don't you Sam fans get tired of trashing her? She deserves better than many of you in this lousy fandom.
It's been my thought that Sam lets Caitriona lead in interviews most of the time because he is a gentleman. When two people are being interviewed, you don't want both people speaking at the same time. That would be awkward. He sees where she wants to take the conversation, and then he gives his point of view. They know each other so well that their comments are usually equally articulate and supportive of the other's.
I've watched all seasons and now I'm rewatching from season 1. Love this show and I've just ordered the book as i heard it's even better than the show. These two (as well as the rest of the cast, except Brianna) are exceptional actors.
People are finding lost family connections, picking up the folk skills again, traveling to historic places in Scotland, North Carolina, and soon New York.
Stateside interviewers are not skilled at their craft; their questions lack originality and depth and are often embarrassing and insulting to those being interviewed

So glad they have returned to the normality of giving an interview together- in person.
They BOTH need BAFTAS! They're waiting too long and are beyond deserving! Great interview that answers some of the questions that I hadn't seen answers to from Stateside interviews.
Jamie staying true to the oath he made to Claire. The protection of his body as well. Mr. Brown is in deep trouble! Amazing performance by Sam. ❤️

She does the same for him. Quite often she shortens her answers, looks at him and cues him to respond.@@marlenemorgenstern7288

Brianna is a terrific character very well portrayed in the show…

So lucky for the interns
If they don’t grant Sam Heughan a BAFTA, it will be an utter disgrace.
