    Nice. You guys were on fire. I've seen guys use those bigger tapered grey trash cans for rope storage and the rope drops right in, nicely coiled. Tight lines

    Simply the greatest of all crabs I love Dungeness especially the merus section along with halibut cheek it’s the best bite of seafood in the world. In fact a Dungeness crusted halibut filet with a lemon buerre blanc is one of my favorite meals.

    Question ❓ have you seen other videos like yours crabing, well all videos are basically the same but those who go little longer film a little more and show us viewers in detail how you're cooking and eating them because that's the difference between a regular video and a really good one hopefully you start implementing this,
    I would like to see you doing cooking and eating them in some good recipes

    Nice haul, great vid, just subscribed.
    Question. So ive always wanted to do a camp trip with multiple fishing days... with that being said is it legal to have in possession multiple day limits for one person on land or in transit going home?

    • @letsgooofishing1
      @letsgooofishing1  2 роки тому +1

      That’s a really good question. All the codes that I’ve read do not mention a transport limit. I’ve also heard it’s double the daily bag limit. To be safe, we just transported double the daily limit. I’d love for someone to find and tell me the written code though.

    Nice going, pretty convenient staying at doran. How far in advance did you have to book?

    • @letsgooofishing1
      @letsgooofishing1  2 роки тому

      Man that place was great. My buddy booked it a month before but I know it’s pretty popular. We already booked for next year and they said only one sight was available for the days we chose.

      I am not sure. That was our first time over there. We went north because they said south wasn’t producing as much.

      Hello, I went to the Promar website. They have a variety to choose from. I think they range from 50-200. Buoys and rope cost around another 50-100.

    They call that a hot pot . This means that there is an electric field around the pot. This caused by the different kinds metals in the building of the pot. So you have to hit with a hammer and ground it out .take a pice of bailing wire around the escape tunnel and make loop and twist it supper tight . That should spot it from being hot and then you will catch crab. Alaskan Don

      I have heard of electricity affecting dowmrigger line but didn’t even think about metal pots. I will absolutely try that out. Thank you Don!

      Yes but don’t be afraid of muddy areas either. Thanks for watching!

    RE: XLHD -Make sure you are weighting it enough. Moving pot= low yield.

    How are you preserving the crab? I’ve read/watched that storing them in buckets of water ain’t a good idea, setting them in a cooler ain’t a good idea…some folks say they use ice in a cooler, place a towel over the ice and then put the crab on top.

    • @letsgooofishing1
      @letsgooofishing1  2 роки тому +2

      I’ve heard a lot of those same things too. While crabbing they did great in the live well. Day 1 and 2 we processed them immediately. Day 3 we put them in an ice chest with a little ice for transportation. I took the plug out so the melted ice wouldn’t fill the bottom. They stayed alive and healthy for 10 hours until they were processed.
