      Just to clarify on the Portuguese occupation. It was over some parts of the coastal side of the country, not the whole country. I think you have selected the wrong time of the year, it's Ramadhan and temperatures are going up. Oman is best visited between November & February.

    NIce one. Oman is so beautiful country and people there are really nice and helpful.
    The "cruise ship" is actually Sultan's yacht. I really loved the colour of it. In the end of the promenade in Mutrah there is a newly built fish market I wanted to go to, but it was in construction the time I've been there.
    Hope you will visit Nizwa and also Wadi Shab for walk along the river in canyon which has a cave with waterfall in it's end you can jump from. Wadi Shab is also famous because Red Bull Cliff Diving was happening there. Very nice place worth visiting.

    I have visited Oman once and actually enjoyed Muscat - did a few day trips from there too.
    I loved Sultan Qaboos Masjid especially at night. I have visited 100s of masjids around the world (being a Muslim from the UK) and this is one of my favourite masjid. I would recommend going to Salalah in the south of Oman

    I loved Muscat!! I was in Oman, February 2020....and left right before the borders closed due to Covid. I would DEFINITELY recommend using the city buses to get around. They're safe, clean, have WiFi, and were very economical!!! The people were nice, and very diverse. There are some really great day trips from Muscat as well.

    Another good one. When I first went to Pakistan I learned to eat hot food as it cured disentary. Hard to believe but the hot spices killed bacteria in the gut. You both are young and this is the time to explore the world. I started at 23 and continued until I was 39. I lived in 14 countries and learned a lot. Now back in Canada in a much tamer existence. Travel as much as you can.

    Beyond beautiful! I've heard the people are so sweet too. Also camping in the desert is a big thing apparently, maybe you will get to go on an adventure out there! That was the most beautiful place I've seen you go in the middle East. The WW2 fort was so awesome too. I didn't know there's no water during Ramadan either. This place is obviously so much more cared for than other places you've been.

    Very cool visual in the last few seconds of this video…panning down the gorgeous tiles. The more I watch your channel, the more I’m discovering why I like it so much…for example these unassuming but very thoughtful details. Also the music is expertly not overdone…simple and chill, just enough to create a relaxed vibe without distracting from the content. Super well done. Bravo! 👏👏

    Thank you for introducing such a beautiful country, that mosque is really magnificent;
    Not only the carvings on the walls are very fine, but also everywhere is as beautiful as a painting;
    I think it must have taken a lot of time to install that chandelier, it is huge;
    The beach is so beautiful, according to your introduction, for me it can be called a white paradise, thanks for sharing!👍😄👏
    謝謝你介紹這麼美麗的國家,那座清真寺真的很宏偉;
    不只牆上的雕刻很精細,到處都美得像一幅幅的油畫;
    我想當初要裝那座吊燈的時候,一定是非常地費工夫;
    那片沙灘好美,根據你們的介紹那裏可稱為白色天堂!

    Hope you enjoy your stays - it's starting to get hot now but nowhere near peak summer. Get out early have siesta and then go out again in the evening. Hope you get around. Sur is also nice where you can see the turtles and visit Wadi Shab. O taxi is great as the taxi drivers in Mutra are very expensive. Good luck and enjoy your trip. The number 4 bus from Mutra goes to the main bus terminal in Ruwi if you need to know.

    Tip for ladies and gents going to the Middle East when it is hot.
    - Buy white good quality linen clothing. That will keep you cool.
    - For the ladies have a white veil/headscarf. For the men, have a hat to protect you from the sun. And also have a UV umbrella to protect you from the sun. I have a cute cloth sun umbrella.
    - Wear sun cream and drink water like a camel to keep hydrated.

Go somewhere you can bear the heat and enjoy sightseeing and maybe even enjoy a swim! All of Oman looks amazing but that heat can take away the pleasure! Whatever you do, enjoy! can't wait to see where you end up. By the way Davidsbeenhere has been eating all over OMAN lately. Maybe you can get some yummy ideas from his Vlogs.

    I will suggest you favorite cities to visit these days:
    1. The Bride of the Red Sea / Jeddah is the most important tourist and economic city in Saudi Arabia. Its most important landmarks are the tallest fountain in the world, Old Jeddah (Al-Balad), Abdul Raouf Khalif Museum, the Sea Corniche, and its most famous mall, Red Sea Mall and Al Salam Mall are the best shopping places in Saudi Arabia and many distinctive restaurants in Jeddah.
    2. Taif is called the Bride of the Summer Resorts, and these days the sectarian rose festival has begun, which will last for only two weeks. The city is famous for its mountainous areas in Shifa and Al-Hada, in which Taif’s famous fruit trees are planted, such as prickly pears, figs, peaches and apricots. Honey in the world, Barha Al-Qazzaz is the old Taif market, and Okaz market is the oldest Arab market in the past, and an annual historical and cultural festival is held in it.
    Taif has historical importance, and Al-Abbas Mosque is the most famous of its mosques, because it was the place of the cousin of the Prophet Muhammad pbuh when he settled in Taif to teach them Islam.
    3. Abha: It is the city of fog and is famous for its Jacaranda trees that bloom these days. It is the summer resort for the Saudi people because it is a cold area and Jabal Al-Soudah is the highest peak in Saudi Arabia. You can visit Al-Raqidi Museum. In the world
    You can visit the Al-Qatt Al-Asiri Museum, ask about the symbols and meanings of these drawings, and visit the honey hut in this city famous for mountain honey

    Where are you headed after Lebanon? You have now visited all Arab countries in the Middle East that are both interesting for tourists and currently safe to travel to. If you have a Middle East checklist there are only Iran and Turkey left or do you maybe plan to visit other Arab countries? Then Tunisia would probably be a good option as it is almost as liberal as Lebanon and has some very nice beaches. Personally, beaches are not that important to me, so I like Lebanon the most. Your travel videos are by far the best on UA-cam because your travels don't feel so rushed and you always come across as authentic; keep it up !

      After Lebanon we are going to Greece so Lebanon will be the last of our middle eastern countries for now. We do plan to come back though, we wanted to go to Iran but then we wouldn't be able to get a tourist visa to go to the US for around 5 years so we might try to go after we get the new tourist visas.

      Wish we had spent longer in Lebanon, we didn't expect it to be so good and we missed out on many places.

      @@JumpingPlaces Greece always looks great in pictures, but unfortunately I've never been there and my knowledge of the country is very thin, apart from the ancient history. I heard about the visa regulations some time ago and forgot it again, it's a pity that it is like that, but Iran is an extremely interesting country and you should bring some time with you if you go there because the country is quite big. You probably already know that if you have planned to travel there anyway 👍🏻

      @@JumpingPlaces Yes, you can spend a lot of time in Lebanon and the food there is just fabulous. Nonetheless, it might be better if you leave the country soon, because the general elections are on Sunday and you never know what that might lead to 😅
