Intelligently, beautifully written, this movie has a lot of depth and it is impossible to grasp everything in a single viewing. I'd recommend watching Cyrano more than once in order to appreciate this masterpiece.
Saw this yesterday, what a spectacular musical love story... message, don't wait. Beauriful, visual, elegant, poetry... the magic of words song expression of love, and the accident that misses... those who deserve it most.
One of the many things I liked in this movie was that there were these comic elements at the beginning. They made the longing, and ultimately the tragic ending that much more poignant. Movie ended in one of the best possible tearjerkers.
The three soldiers who sing the song near the end of the movie are behind Cyrano in this scene… I’d recognize Glen Hansard anywhere and had a laugh in the theatre
Finally saw this yesterday! It’s such a touching, perfectly romantic love story. The entire cast was incredible, and the blend of music, poetry, and language in this adaptation was artfully resonant. I was singing this song on my way out of the theatre.
I really loved the choreography they used. It felt natural and never for the sake of spectacle alone but for the sake of the story. The fluttering of emotions, the easiness of loving even when unrequited, flowing so wonderfully with the music.
@@angeladoll9785 Amazing how many potentially award - winning movies just seem to fly under the radar. They need better promotion such as the big - budget action movies get. More & BETTER coverage.
@@DanielAppleton-lr9eq From what I've seen of Peter im interviews I doubt he plays the Hollywood political game. A lot of these awards depend a lot on popularity among peers & bribes. His talent & range is so underated & will probably stay so cuz he's content with doing good work with or without recognition ❤️
@@angeladoll9785 Maybe he just wants to stay away from show - business politics, keep a relatively LOW profile, avoid unwanted attention / reasons to generate gossip, etc.
Roxanne: Hey! I’m love with this guy…His name is Christian! Be nice to him… Cyrano: I don’t think I’m gonna like him. *Later* Christian: *Is an Actual Cinnamon Roll* Cyrano: Okay fine I like him…
I'm smitten by this movie and shocked that it wasn't received by general public as a masterpiece. I guess fast food has created a generation of fast and artificial art crowd. I feel lonely in a world where this movie flopped and those marvel movies soar. I've tried watching cgi movies but they bore and abhor me. I have bought 5 movies my entire life, this will be the sixth one.
I hope the entire movie is as good as that video "Every Letter." I am familiar with this classic, tragic love story. I am going to watch this adaptation tomorrow on Amazon Prime.
I couldn't agree more...you said everything my soul screams about this masterpiece. The movie is magical, dreamy, deeply human with beautiful messages. And the music...oh the music of heavens!I just can't stop listening the soundtracks....you are not alone dear Cristine, thank you for your wonderful post :)
Peters smile is the most genuine thing in this film. This film changed my life❤️
Try the Gerard Depardiue version too.
But this was so enveloping.
Dinklage is stunning in this role
He’s adorable
Such an underrated movie. I absolutely love it, and I can't get enough. Peter dinklage is phenomenal!

I watched it 3 times already.

I couldn't agree more. I heard Peter say this is a sad movie. No! He will look back and see this as his greatest work!
The whole message..DON'T WAIT!
Maybe if the french military didn't drill with theater choreography they would be winning their war and the entire 3rd act gets a happy ending!
XD
Good fighting is dancing. To be able to flow from one form into the next.
Ah but then the play wouldn’t be a tragedy

Yes, but they wouldn't be losing so *fabulously*
Roxanne: "And be his friend."
Cyrano: "I may not like him."
*this song*
Cyrano: "...okay, this kid's not bad."

2:01 random guy start break dance 🤣

A masterpiece, a jewel... Watched it once, but it deserves to be seen few times at least...
I've watched it twice in a weekend. I'm addicted to the soundtrack of this movie.
This movie is so beautiful. Everything was done so well and with so much care. It's going to be greatly under appreciated.
Peter Dinklage is woefully underappreciated. Very likely he'll be remembered for GOT ( which I never got into, beyond bits on the internet. ).
I really loved the choreography they used. It felt natural and never for the sake of spectacle alone but for the sake of the story.
The fluttering of emotions, the easiness of loving even when unrequited, flowing so wonderfully with the music.
I watched this today, was in love with it, it's a classic story, till I thought, this is the original catfish story.
This was such a beautifully made movie. Smart, perfectly cast, heartfelt. I don't know why it didn't get more Oscar buzz.
It has HEART, just going by this number alone.
It deserved ALL the awards TBH

super movie I love LOVE the music 🎶 🎉❤
I love the facial expressions.. this dude looking at him like bro, you're an idiot and the irony of it all omg 🙄😅
Edit.. Peter is hot 🔥 lol
The message that lies in the unspoken word.. oh my!
@Jazmine I agree. He commands a presense.. He's a great actor.
'Magnetic🎉
This movie wrecked me ❤❤❤ i love it so much for so many reasons
Considering this movie is by Joe Wright, I can't help that this scene reminds me of Anna Karenina's waltz scene.

After watching the soldiers dance and thinking of all the time going into that number I think I know why they lost the battle.
THAT'S THE GUY WHO VOICED MIGHTY EAGLE IN THE ANGRY BIRDS MOVIE!!
Roxanne wanted Ralph Waldo Emerson and Ryan Gosling combined…that’s a bit much wouldn’t you say
Love this song but envision a different man of courage and steel.
great music, but I wonder if it would be better without Christian getting surrounded by a punch of dancing poofs.
Right?? Lol. I’m a gay man but even I was like “BUTCH THIS UP A LITTLE, MEN!”
@@HauntFreak13😂 Everything in this scene is stunning, but it would have been less jarring with more of the initial rhythmic fencing
