    My youth pastor turned us on to this song in the 70s. It always makes me cry. I'm 60 now. The song still brings tears to my eyes. It is beautiful and reverent. I'm not entirely sure but the song may have been released in 1980. In any case, it was part of the Christian Rock movement.

    No longer the young man's voice, but still the joyful enthusiasm of pure praise to Almighty God, who will receive all glory and honor eternally with our heavenly voices - no matter how young or mature sounding!

    Unless your an experienced musician, you can't really appreciate the immense talent of Phil Keaggy. There really is no one else like him. It makes it glaringly obvious that his talent and abilities aren't just natural, they come directly from God. And actually, he's a gift to the rest of us.

    I saw Phil do this song live over 20 years ago and it stood out in the mind of that innocent 15 year old. Now I'm 37 and struggling with doubt and questions but hearing it again brings back some of the hope there was in that teenager. Thanks Phil.

    You are, by far, my favorite Christian artist. There is a complete peace that washes over me when you sing...every time I play your music. This has been true since the late 70's. You are anointed by the Holy Spirit and it flows through your beautiful voice and amazing guitar playing. Best guitar player EVER! Thank you for using your gifts to glorify the Savior!

    This yet another example of the blessed talent that the Lord has heaped upon Phil. In writing, singing, and guitar playing per excellence all dedicated to the Lord. It is my opinion, that Phil is the Christian equivalent to Paul McCartney especially in this song.

    Cuando llegue a casa veré todo Los hombres santos sobre los que leí Pedro y Juan, Santiago, Lucas y Pablo Y el hermano Tom sin duda Y creo que habrá Rey David al arpa Un canto de alabanza con cada acorde Qué espectáculo para ver, los redimidos y Los ángeles se reunieron adorando al Señor Que dia sera ese ¡Oh, qué día será ese! Cuando lleguemos a casa, nuestro hogar eterno No habrá más enfermos y moribundos Nadie está triste, nadie está solo Y no habrá mas llanto Secará cada lágrima De los ojos de sus hijos Y poner una sonrisa en sus rostros Que feliz dia cuando vemos Nuestro Señor en el Paraíso Coronado como Rey de Reyes Que dia sera ese ¡Oh, qué día será ese!

    • @efficiencycounts7669
      @efficiencycounts7669 9 років тому +2

      +O'frabjous Day Hi! :-) I don't think you are an atheist... I don't think you have had very many good examples of Jesus to relate to. Phil Keaggy is a good example. A true athiest hates the beautiful soul as much as a true believer loves the beautiful soul... because God is Love, and to hate God you would have to hate Love.

    • @ofrabjousday1
      @ofrabjousday1 9 років тому

      +Efficiency Counts Hello and thanks for your post. Well, I'm definitely an atheist, and one of the reasons for it is because of the misconceptions that churches spread. Here's a classic one: A true athiest hates the beautiful soul. That's just not true. A true atheist believes that it is exactly that, our beautiful souls, which is capable of getting us past all of our differences and hatreds and lead us to love one another. A theist is simply someone who believes in a higher power to do that for us. An atheist is simply someone who believes we have to do it ourselves. A true atheist doesn't hate God because one cannot hate what one knows doesn't exist. Therefore they don't hate love. They love love, most especially within the urgency of attaining it for us all within the here and now.

    • @efficiencycounts7669
      @efficiencycounts7669 9 років тому +1

      I don't know what atheist means. But I do know that "...love comes from God and anyone that loves belongs to God and knows God. Anyone that does not love does not know God because God is love." ~ 1 John 4:7-8. :-)

    • @ofrabjousday1
      @ofrabjousday1 9 років тому +1

      +Efficiency Counts Thank you for your kind reply. I don't think that John quite knew himself well enough to express his love without having to credit it to a higher power for which he had to worship, not knowing for sure where or who this higher power really is. The Apostle John, however, was so in tune with the true power of love that he spoke of it openly and honestly in 1 Corinthians, the entire 13th chapter. THAT'S what an atheist believes also. That passage still has the ability to make me well up.

    Phil Keaggy is a virtuoso. No one plays like he does; no one ever did before him or ever will again.
    He was the first Christian artist I ever heard, and this was the first CCM song I ever heard him do, and What a Day was the first Christian album I ever bought.
    He was good 50 years ago, but now ... whoa!! Proof that wine isn’t the only thing that improves with age. This is absolutely delicious!

    Phil Keaggy has always been compared to the likes of Steve Morse, John McLaughlin, Allan Holdsworth, Jeff Beck, and Joe Satriani-by secular hard rock guitar players.
    For decades.
    EVERYONE is floored by Phil.
    EVERYONE knows who he is, and we think it's sad that he has been sidelined by the mainstream music conglomerate for being a Christian artist. They won't play his music on radio stations, MTV, etc.
    Occasionally you will see him in ads in the guitar magazines, and he is usually considered the best there is in the print market, and they have always supported him, but you never get to hear him.
