  • Ale and Joe review a historic, heavy hitter to round out their summer of discovering famous wheat beers. Paulaner's Weissbier is the No. 1 Weissbier in Germany, which says quite a bit considering all the magnificent wheat brews that come out of that fine beer making country. Naturally cloudy and shining silky-gold in the glass under a really strong head of foam.

I'm not sure why this beer isn't more popular than it is, it's really fantastic. I've never seen this detailed of a breakdown of it, I can almost taste it again while listening 😆 Great review boys.

I could not agree more. It’s so strange that beers like Hoegaarden and Blue Moon dominate the marketplace when you have gems like this one showing how the style should be.

I’m sitting here drinking a Paulaner Hefe-Weizen while watching (from bottle poured into glass)! This is my 4th or 5th time trying and I didn’t really like it as much as the Weihenstephaner Hefe-weizen. You guys are convincing me that this is a great beer despite my previous experience lol 😂 I notice that it’s a little darker in color compared to other hefe weizens. As far as the flavor goes, it’s got that banana characteristic with some spice and sort of this sweet bubble gum flavor if you swish it around your mouth if that makes any sense. I’ll try it side by side with a Weihenstephaner Hefe-wizen and hopefully you gentleman can make that video soon! They’re both top tier beers! I wonder which one is better 🤔 Thank you both, much love and cheers 🍻 and thanks for watching my performance dedicated to my cousin!!

Of course!! Always keeping an eye on your channel and it was a great performance.
That vs. Battle is definitely something we’re going to have to get to sooner than later. Especially cause it’s German beer season the next few months! Looking forward to see what videos you put out too.

Weihenstephaner hefe-weizen vs. Paulaner hefe-weizen would be an epic battle! Choosing a winner between the two might be one of the toughest decisions in beer brackets history…. 😅 Can’t wait for that one!! 🍻

I only tasted the glass bottle version but too long ago to know how to appreciate it to remember. Interesting because Paulaner owns Hacker Pschorr, and not sure I mentioned in this channel before, but the hefeweiss by Hacker Pschorr is so far my favorite. It seems by your review the two must be a lot alike, if not the same, particularly the strong lasting carbonation. Ayinger Brauweisse used to be my favorite, but Hacker Pschorr really tops it, from the complexity to the overall experience. Good thing too the price for the 4-packs is still not overpriced yet compared to the more popular Ayinger and Weihenstephaner. Where I am it's going for $8.99, where as Ayinger 4x11oz bottles are $12.99, and Weihenstephaner 4 cans at $11.99.

Okay now I have tasted it, I can say it is different from the Hacker Pschorr version. Paulaner version have much more hops, it is one of the stronger flavored hefeweiss I have tasted actually, almost approaching weizenbock, not so much the ABV but the deeper bold flavor. Which is actually very interesting as it has a full body feel yet without so much alcohol. It is more creamy, Hacker Pschorr version have much more carbonation giving a crisper feel, but also lighter and easier to drink and a little less body.
