@@garrygrant2827 yes decent snow cover for the time of though on quite unusual aspects as the winds came in from the NE so the deepest cover in on the SW aspects. The bad news is it’s forecast to thaw for the next four days before the temperatures drop again so a lot of it will disappear!
Thank you so much 😊 The mountains in winter are so otherworldly and I love being able to share their beauty through photos and video when hiking, skiing and climbing. As you say a lot of effort goes into taking the shots and putting it altogether before uploading onto UA-cam and Social Media and this often takes longer than the day in the mountains filming!
I have a dji mavic air 2 and wnat to buy the neo as my second drone to use without remote. I see that in this movie you also have shots of the mountains, how did you created them? with phone as remote or with the DJI as remote? do you think a DJI remote is needed?
@@supermarcie99 I only had the basic Neo without a controller when I shot the skiing video. I mainly used the autonomous follow and direction track without using the phone but connected the phones wifi a few times when the Neo tracking lost me. I've since bought the Goggles N3 and also now have the N3 controller with my new Dji Flip which gives me a lot more functions and control. I have the Mavic Air 2 and had hoped it's controller would work with the Neo but it doesn't and my new Goggles don't work with the new Flip! You'll love the Neo as it's so quick, safe, robust and convenient to use compared to the Mavic Air 2 and the Neo's 4k video is pretty good in bright sunny conditions. The only real issue is being so light its badly affected by strong gusty winds compared to the much heavier Mavic Air 2! The still shots of the mountains were taken on my Honor Magic 5 phone 😄
@@RonWalkerCairngormGuides If the neo was not following anymore and you connected with the wifi on the phone then probably he was not further then 50m away? because I have seen some movies were the person needs to walk up the mountain to get closer then 50m. the drone just stopped and was hovering!
@ You have to ski slowly on the downhill and keep an eye on it or the drone will lose you! Also you don’t want go too fast and far downhill, if the drone loses tracking as it will just hover until you get close enough to connect Wi-Fi which could mean a long walk back up!!!! When I was filming I stopped every so often to let the drone catch up before skiing the next section. Hope this helps 😀
Hi Ron some nice sking with decent depth of snow for early season some beautiful shots of the scenery enjoyed the video thank you

Decent snow covering already!
Really good snow cover but with the recent thaw it’s likely back to square one!
Your video was truly beautiful and inspiring. As a fellow creator, I appreciate the effort you put into it. Sub and 👍27
