I had not watched this video when I set a pair of eyes in a Bufflehead a few weeks back. I did use a gouge, but I did not realize I had not cut the hole deep enough. I also filled in my eye channel with the plastic wood. I dug the eyes out last night, and drilled the eye holes with a bit that was plenty big. I will fill the holes like you showed, and try to get those eyes lined up and canted inward and downward. Bills are tough for me as well! Thanks again. Bruce Brandeberry
