My Disney wife is a code programmer and she built a detailed spreadsheet about what it would cost if we bought all meals individually, spending a typical price, on the Dining plan vs. buying without. The difference for a 5 day trip was about $120, which you would save if you spent individually vs the plan. We bought the plan anyway, mostly for convenience. And we did get to take home several snacks at the end!
As a WDW local annual pass holder I have some suggestions for getting the most of Magic Kingdom with the inclusion of a Halloween or Christmas party. If at all possible, DON'T try to make a party day into a "rope drop til WE drop" day. Split MK into two separate days. For Christmas: Attend the party one day. Show up early and enter the park at 4pm to get the most time out of the event. Try to hit up a few rides before the event begins - the time between 6 and 7 is a good time to try to jump on something like Peter Pan or maybe even Seven Dwarfs. Day guests will be cut off from entering the queue at 6pm. Put more emphasis on the specific party events (parades, fireworks, shows, characters, food) rather than rides. Hit up the rides with overlays when you can squeeze them in. Your other day at Magic Kingdom should vary depending on the time of your Christmas season visit. If you are at WDW the week immediately before or after Thanksgiving you may be able to visit MK any day and find relatively small crowds. Today as I'm writing this (Wednesday, November 20 @ 2:30pm) the wait time for Space Mountain is 10 minutes, Tron is 35 minutes, and Haunted Mansion is 13 minutes - a walk-on. There is no party tonight! Outside of this time period you should visit during a party day. You may have shorter hours (9am-6pm + early entry if staying at a Disney resort) but the crowds will be significantly lighter than a non-party day. The Christmas parties happen more often than the Halloween parties so you will have several days a week to choose from to visit the park before a party. For Halloween: For your party day, do the same thing as for the Christmas party, enter at 4pm, a few early rides, do the party exclusives, etc. For your non-party visit, you may find MK crowds to be relatively light from late August into mid-September, outside of the Labor Day holiday. If you come in later September or October it's probably better to make your MK day a party day and do as much as possible with the 9 hours. Halloween parties happen more infrequently than the Christmas party (sometimes just twice a week, especially early in the Halloween party season) but they are spread out over a slightly longer period of time from late August until Halloween. As an aside: going back to my suggestion of jumping on a ride between 6-7pm during your party visit, if you ever attend an After Hours Event at Epcot, you can use this technique for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. The park closes at 9pm and the event begins at 10pm, but you can get on rides if you have an event wristband. The queue for Guardians is already pretty much empty by 9pm. I did this last year and got on Guardians three times in a row and the event was just beginning when I exited after the third ride. It's a great way to make the best use of the short time given!

@@dave6081 yes, yes yes . . . . good point. I didn't go on a holiday but best thing I have ever done at WDW is buy Lightening Lane for the day at Epcot and WALKED ON EACH RIDE/attraction. Frozen was 60+ minutes and we went through the opening door (entrance.) and without stop, onto the boat !!!! Yes was $35 each for three people but worth every penny.
I really appreciate this video. You guys are always spot on! I got the DDP for my 2016 (2017?) trip and no way could i eat all that food. I ended up converting all my unused quick service credits for snacks at the confectionery and gave them away. Now that I can’t drink, due to medications, there is no way i could get my money’s worth out of the DDP. Regarding buying clothing at Disney for unexpected cold weather - man, have i done that! Sweatpants and a sweatshirt at Epcot in 2017 and then a fluffy fleecy jacket at Hollywood Studios when it was freezing before Fantasmic in 2024. But the quality is really great! I am still wearing the sweatpants (very frequently) ever since January 2017 - and they are in terrific shape! And that fluffy jacket is my go-to chilly weather jacket.
On our first family trip about 15 years ago, we did DDP for five of us. After we had i think one a couple of snack credits each left over, we lost about 10% of our money paid for it....BUT...my husband and I like to have it paid for and done before we leave, so we didn't think of it as a big loss. We were also expecting out 3 kiddos to want some of everything, but they wanted to go, go, go the week lol! We are going back in February (just the 2 of us) and I think it will be a better value this time because with no kids, we will have more time to block out for fancier meals
For the water bottle tip, I advise doing that AND some sort of energy powder (I personally like GamerSupps) (not sponsored XDXD) and/or electrolyte packets to add to the water. Now when I went half the water places were closed, but keep trying and look to fill up *before* you need to! Dehydration is a killer, and if you don't live off the gulf coast the humidity will make you sweat liters. Point is, drink water and electrolytes!

I stayed at one of the economy resorts and was offered premier pass. I still don't see it being worth it. I think what they're really trialing is how much your willing to pay for what seems to be a minor convenience if you're doing what you're supposed to and book 1 week out.

Here's a good trick for mystery pin boxes/packs. Try to pick out about 30% of the options that you would want to keep, therefore you hopefully get at least one of them, if not don't worry, because afterwards the extra pins you get can be used for trading. rather that be with people or on pin boards. Just be careful of fakes *(there's lots of videos to help you spot fakes btw). Also at the disneyland resort we have noticed that many pin shops have a case with pins from that same set at the registers, and they allow you to trade for one of those pins so long as you open the mystery pack at the counter. This is also a great way to get a certain pin, and most importantly, make sure you're not trading for a fake pin. (Disclaimer, it depends on how lenient the cast member is, but sometimes you can only trade within the same set, keep this in mind when buying a certain pack)
when we were there in October the Seas with Nemo, Grand Fiesta, and Figment were all at over 40 minute waits. It was a bananas kind of a day. We survived without multipass (premier pass) but dang sometimes the lines can get long, even at Epcot.
Sorry but i didn't go to Disney and pay that much to ride carousel and people mover lol. Best thing is to use an accurate ride wait system that's not the Disney app as they increase those times dramatically to scare you into buying lightning Lane.
We did 16 hours in epcot once. Early entry and deluxe extended hours. It was a blast but exhausting. We also broke the cardinal rule and ate at the castle during MNSSHP. It was the ONLY possible way in my 40 years to get a resy there. It was perfect and worth it!
Not really worried about Frontierland. Basically it’s only Big Thunder Mountain shutting down. Tom Sawyer Island and River Of Americas are largely fluff attractions and don’t draw crowds anyway. Honestly except for BTM it’s not really going to affect most people’s trips.
Re: Be Our Guest during the party - My group had a great experience doing this against AJ's recommendation ;) we went to Mickey's Not So Scary this September, entered at 4, ran through the Carousel of Progress before it closed, and had dinner at 4:45. By the time we got out, it was about 6:30, all the non-party participants were gone, and we could get right into fantasyland rides with minimal waiting. We had tons of time during the official party, but still felt we got our extra money's worth from the 4pm entry. Plus, BOG was serving their party menu starting at 4 if you had a wristband! We were still able to get the exclusive party food and cocktail. Pumpkin creme caramel!

The advice about watching to not be more ambitious than your body can handle is good. Our family of 5 has a range of disabilities, but even the most able bodied one is still disabled. When i planned our disney trip, i knew to plan for this and did. However this year my grandma decided to plan an outing on another vacation, and did not plan for this. Get up early, do lots in the hot hot day, stay out later. We were all miserable halfway through to the point my mother and i were only not ubering back to the condo ourselves because the prices were insane. She overestimated not just a couple of us, but all of us. So even though we got to do things that were fun, it also was miserable. Learn the lesson any other time than somewhere as expensive as disney, you will NOT regret it. You can always impulsively do things if you have extra energy, but you may find you hating yourself for over committing
I am really surprised that the Premium pass is only for Disney Deluxe stays. I bet that will change. The people more inclined to spend the money are those saving money by staying off property or in a friend’s extra bedroom. They are the ones without early theme park entry or extended evening hours. And the regular multi pass/single pass window doesn’t open as early. If Disney was smart they would target off property people in peak times - they have incentive to spend more.
That whole bit about the After Hours party hit the nail on the head with our trip we just did last month. Sure i'd say it's great to do it once just to say we did it/experienced NSSH, but my friend and I most likely wouldn't do anything like this again on a future trip. We were EXHAUSTED (Trying to aim for 2026/2027
On the Disney Dining Plan, I looked at it and found it would not save money. I did buy it one year. My daughter was a castmember and when we came to visit she wanted us to get the plan. What I found that the way it worked for us was that we found out you can combine the seated dining meals to eat at some of the fancier restaurants. This way we didnt have to sit down to eat a meal every night but got to enjoy some of the more expensive restaurants we wouldnt normally eat at. Yes, you do end up with left over credits. Specifically, snack credits. We dont eat when we are hungry and found that we did end up with left over snack credits but we had a hungry castmember who willing took all the credits and purchased snacks for herself, lol. We havent bought thw Dining Plan since. Honestly it isnt worth it.
This new premium pass will fail.......a family of 4 already staying in a deluxe resort, plus tickets are not going to pay another $1600 for only a single unscheduled Lightning lane.......total rip off
The only reason I'd ever purchase a blind box of pins is to trade something I know I won't like for something I do. Although pins are wildly expensive, so I'm not in any rush to do so lol
That’s why I love buying the blind boxes from the Character Warehouse instead! They’re usually marked down by HALF of what you’ll find them as listed in the park. (And if I’m just gonna trade them, why bother paying full price for them, right?? 😂)
I went to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween and the lines were very short since everyone was kicked out of the park who wasn’t attending. Then everyone else wanted to watch all the fireworks and parades so that time was better than purchasing a Lightning Lane.
As a well seasoned All day and all night at Universal Studios for HHN and Orlando Informer late events park goer, I second all these motions! Lots of water and lots of rest/breaks all day and DO NOT DRINK ALCOHOL BEFORE THE NIGHT TIME EVENT! If you do you will DRAG your feet the last few hours lol 😂 I’m a pro all day drinker and these late night events will beat you down hahaha 😂
To me. Anything that makes my kids smile and experience the magic of WDW while they still can is always worth the money. They won't always light up like they do now so I always want to take advantage of that while I can :)

Im going for the first time with my girlfriend in January 2025 (2 adults). We are staying at a Disney hotel and we are planning to take the early entry for the 4 parks… Should we buy the LL Multipass for the 4 parks? Or just to Magic Kingdom?? Maybe LL Single pass to the other parks??
You can keep an eye on what wait times look like leading up to your trip to help you decide; if they seem longer than what you'd want to wait MultiPass can be a good purchase and Magic Kingdom definitely has the most bang for your buck.
I goofed up and paid for the park pass for the day and paid for the party ticket at night. 😭😭😭😭 I'm a rookie didn't know better. It's been bothering me for days and hearing this again in this video makes me feel worse. But there's nothing I can do. I'm sure Disney doesn't give refunds. Not a goof up!! It’s totally understandable to want to do as MUCH as you can while you’re there! Just pace yourselves and take PLENTY of breaks throughout the day so you don’t burn all your energy first thing in the morning and start dragging by night. (So find indoor shows with AC, sit down and relax inside for lunch/dinner, etc.)
Go to the park in the morning. Then go back to your hotel in the afternoon and take a nap, sit by the swimming pool, or whatever is restful. Than go back. It will be fine.
Idk if it’s DFB or UA-cam but I am getting an ad every 3-5 minutes and it’s very frustrating. If it’s within your control I beg you to turn down your number of ads. I’ve been watching for about 10 years now and I’ve never experienced this many ads.
Lightning Lane Premiere Pass 😂😂😂🤣🤣😂 Lightning Lane Multipass is worth the price and I found it easy to use. The prices were reasonable. I’m still very angry at Bob Iger for taking away free FastPass and replacing them with FastPass that you have to pay for. Iger pur profit before guest experience. (Done with rant). Premiere Pass is for people who have money to burn and dont want to be bothered with keeping track of return times.
I just went in May and I didn't do no dying plan I went solo so when I was there with all my souvenirs I bought call my food and snacks 495 I had one sit-down meal at The boathouse with one cocktail one drink and I had a character meal and the rest were fast food and I didn't have any alcohol I only had one drink alcohol drink at The boathouse my whole trip if I had a drink every night it would have been more expensive
Disney is totally taking advantage of the families and kids in my opinion. 1 - 2 hours waiy for a 2 minute ride, or 40 minutes to meet someone dress up as a princess. Spent 9 hours in the park, 7 hours was waiting in the lines, 1.5 hour walking around，20 minute eating, 10 minutes of 'not so' fun. Should just take kids somewhere else.
Just got back. Lightening lanes had minimal people. I saw so many chronically ill waiting miserably in line, or not at all. Disappointing. Plus you are stuck in the park you chose for the day and cannot change plans. Terrible program.

The advice about watching to not be more ambitious than your body can handle is good. Our family of 5 has a range of disabilities, but even the most able bodied one is still disabled. When i planned our disney trip, i knew to plan for this and did.
However this year my grandma decided to plan an outing on another vacation, and did not plan for this. Get up early, do lots in the hot hot day, stay out later. We were all miserable halfway through to the point my mother and i were only not ubering back to the condo ourselves because the prices were insane.
She overestimated not just a couple of us, but all of us. So even though we got to do things that were fun, it also was miserable. Learn the lesson any other time than somewhere as expensive as disney, you will NOT regret it. You can always impulsively do things if you have extra energy, but you may find you hating yourself for over committing
When I used to be a cast member, BOY those blind boxes were my weakness. My paycheck went straight back to where it came from lol
I am really surprised that the Premium pass is only for Disney Deluxe stays. I bet that will change. The people more inclined to spend the money are those saving money by staying off property or in a friend’s extra bedroom. They are the ones without early theme park entry or extended evening hours. And the regular multi pass/single pass window doesn’t open as early. If Disney was smart they would target off property people in peak times - they have incentive to spend more.
Theres only three rides back in the day I had to get fast pass for and it was thunder space and splash mountain other then that I rode just fine
Another way water can cost you: the 30 minute side quest to find smart water instead of Dasani
Just get the free cup of water
For the blind boxes sometimes people trade or sell them online
That whole bit about the After Hours party hit the nail on the head with our trip we just did last month. Sure i'd say it's great to do it once just to say we did it/experienced NSSH, but my friend and I most likely wouldn't do anything like this again on a future trip. We were EXHAUSTED (Trying to aim for 2026/2027
On the Disney Dining Plan, I looked at it and found it would not save money.
I did buy it one year. My daughter was a castmember and when we came to visit she wanted us to get the plan. What I found that the way it worked for us was that we found out you can combine the seated dining meals to eat at some of the fancier restaurants.
This way we didnt have to sit down to eat a meal every night but got to enjoy some of the more expensive restaurants we wouldnt normally eat at.
Yes, you do end up with left over credits. Specifically, snack credits. We dont eat when we are hungry and found that we did end up with left over snack credits but we had a hungry castmember who willing took all the credits and purchased snacks for herself, lol.
We havent bought thw Dining Plan since. Honestly it isnt worth it.

This new premium pass will fail.......a family of 4 already staying in a deluxe resort, plus tickets are not going to pay another $1600 for only a single unscheduled Lightning lane.......total rip off
The only reason I'd ever purchase a blind box of pins is to trade something I know I won't like for something I do. Although pins are wildly expensive, so I'm not in any rush to do so lol
That’s why I love buying the blind boxes from the Character Warehouse instead! They’re usually marked down by HALF of what you’ll find them as listed in the park. (And if I’m just gonna trade them, why bother paying full price for them, right?? 😂)

I went to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween and the lines were very short since everyone was kicked out of the park who wasn’t attending. Then everyone else wanted to watch all the fireworks and parades so that time was better than purchasing a Lightning Lane.
You can enter the park early 4pm on party days but the party entryline is ridiculously long…..
As a well seasoned All day and all night at Universal Studios for HHN and Orlando Informer late events park goer, I second all these motions! Lots of water and lots of rest/breaks all day and DO NOT DRINK ALCOHOL BEFORE THE NIGHT TIME EVENT! If you do you will DRAG your feet the last few hours lol 😂 I’m a pro all day drinker and these late night events will beat you down hahaha 😂

To me. Anything that makes my kids smile and experience the magic of WDW while they still can is always worth the money. They won't always light up like they do now so I always want to take advantage of that while I can :)

Im going for the first time with my girlfriend in January 2025 (2 adults). We are staying at a Disney hotel and we are planning to take the early entry for the 4 parks… Should we buy the LL Multipass for the 4 parks? Or just to Magic Kingdom?? Maybe LL Single pass to the other parks??
You can keep an eye on what wait times look like leading up to your trip to help you decide; if they seem longer than what you'd want to wait MultiPass can be a good purchase and Magic Kingdom definitely has the most bang for your buck.

I goofed up and paid for the park pass for the day and paid for the party ticket at night. 😭😭😭😭 I'm a rookie didn't know better. It's been bothering me for days and hearing this again in this video makes me feel worse. But there's nothing I can do. I'm sure Disney doesn't give refunds. I hope and pray that my family is not too tired from this long day. We travel home the next day so we can't even sleep in. Ugh!!🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️ Wish me luck.
Not a goof up!! It’s totally understandable to want to do as MUCH as you can while you’re there! Just pace yourselves and take PLENTY of breaks throughout the day so you don’t burn all your energy first thing in the morning and start dragging by night. (So find indoor shows with AC, sit down and relax inside for lunch/dinner, etc.)
Go to the park in the morning. Then go back to your hotel in the afternoon and take a nap, sit by the swimming pool, or whatever is restful. Than go back. It will be fine.

Lightning Lane Multipass is worth the price and I found it easy to use. The prices were reasonable. I’m still very angry at Bob Iger for taking away free FastPass and replacing them with FastPass that you have to pay for. Iger pur profit before guest experience. (Done with rant).
Premiere Pass is for people who have money to burn and dont want to be bothered with keeping track of return times.
I just went in May and I didn't do no dying plan I went solo so when I was there with all my souvenirs I bought call my food and snacks 495 I had one sit-down meal at The boathouse with one cocktail one drink and I had a character meal and the rest were fast food and I didn't have any alcohol I only had one drink alcohol drink at The boathouse my whole trip if I had a drink every night it would have been more expensive
Disney is totally taking advantage of the families and kids in my opinion. 1 - 2 hours waiy for a 2 minute ride, or 40 minutes to meet someone dress up as a princess. Spent 9 hours in the park, 7 hours was waiting in the lines, 1.5 hour walking around，20 minute eating, 10 minutes of 'not so' fun. Should just take kids somewhere else.
DisneyWorld used to be nice and somewhat affordable...back in 2005...too much money and too many lines for me now...

Just got back. Lightening lanes had minimal people. I saw so many chronically ill waiting miserably in line, or not at all. Disappointing. Plus you are stuck in the park you chose for the day and cannot change plans. Terrible program.
