It’s impressive to see how such a small machine can produce beautiful and complex pieces when put in the right hands! Loved every second of the jam, looking forward to get my hands on a cycles soon!
Really cool sounding jam, with nice layering and silky sounds - you did a great job in shaping the sounds of the cycles. Makes me want to pick up my Cycles immediately, gotta go 😊
Bravo!
Hey man. This jam is really stunning. Do you have a tutorial out there how to make this drums in the first song? Or will you do one? I do ambient and melodic techno music and would love to learn this glitchy stuff.
Thanks Drew! 🙏 You know, I think it's also a matter of feeling: the sounds of the Cycles really inspired me, and I think it pushed me to go quite deep into the machine !
Magnifique! C'est d'un niveau tellement supérieur à tout ce qu'on peut écouter sur UA-cam. Bravo... Moi aussi, le tutorial m'intéresse beaucoup (English will be just fine)
I love this!! I really want to buy a model:Cycles to create ambient but I have a lot of doubts :( Do you think someone without experience in groveboxes/synths can take advantage of it? How do I record the audio from Cycles and then export it and put it in the video? Do I need my pc to make it work? If someone can asnwer my questions will help me a lot to take a decision and go into this world!
Kevlun4 thanks for your comment ! 🙂 That’s a really good question, and actually the answer can’t be really definitive : If you're completely new to the vast world of music production, elektron's ergonomics can be off-putting. Some synthesis specialists find the ergonomics unbearable. And yet, as a non-specialist, I was charmed by this sequencer and its sounds! But it's not for everyone: some would say it's not for beginners. For me, as this machine is like no other, I'd say "go for it". At worst, if you really don't like it, you can always resell it! My advice it’s to try the gear in a shop before buying !
Impressive, all done just with the model:cycles. Thank you for this jam. I currently do my first steps myself and try to find ways to get somewhat soft sounds out of it. Since it has no real adsr curve and no filters, up to now I just managed to smoothen the attack with the lfo's envelope. Here now I saw you to move the sweep knob to make the sound more bright of harsher. Which machine are you using in the beginning for that?
Thanks a lot for your comment! It's true that the lack of filters is a real shortcoming on the Model:Cycles, but I manage to create an attack and smoothness with the lfo as well. I mainly use the sweep button on the "Tone" machine. This makes the sweep look like a cutoff!
Surprising for a 10 mn video on some techno machine there's tons of commercials damn!!!! Sounds really good by the way I'm still trying to learn mine and when I do I'll have it all figured out mostly so I can play live with friends and stuff!

Your work is great, the overall mono sound is distracting. Are you able to pan individual parts? The reverb is as least in stereo. Looking forward to more of this kind of vibe from you.
Thanks Axel ! 🙏🙏🙏 Actually, it's main line out, and most of mixing part is from the M:C directly. Of course, I put an effect rack on Ableton with a compressor, an EQ, and a small reverb.
Only if you choose to see it that way...another way of looking at it is this person is kind enough to share their talent and experience with the world and commenting on anything other than what they intend to share is....futile...I didn't for once take this as a flex of privilege or anything. Call it curating a scene if you will!
@@rish8917 "commenting on anything other than what they intend to share". they shared (along with the music) a visual, i commented. hipster staging is to me the true futility.
I would guess the staging is intentional but totally unobtrusive. Even if the performance wasn’t great, I’ve seen people try much harder with their their synth setup’s visual ambiance.

Hi Rish ! Thank you for your comment and sorry for the late answer. I'm happy if I motivate you to go back to your M:C.
