just got the Z30 today after lugging around my very heavy D800 for years. Don't get me wrong, I love my D800!! But for walk-around-making-memories recording, it's just not convenient. So far I am in love with this little Z30! I also want to say I wish this video had been around 10 years ago when I started learning about photography!! So many basic camera functions so well explained! Bravo!

Aloha Jason seems having problems downloading video larger then 4 gbs into iPad Pro is there any other way to do it , some of my videos are like 9 minutes or so converted into gbs I don’t know but it’s not allowing me to downloading , meaning I have to edit but loosing a lot of video when I do it

Very nice video! Now I'm inspired to give that 600+ manual a look. This is my first new camera since the Canon 70D. And! My first new Nikon since the FTN Apollo back in 1972. Needless to say there's a bit of a learning curve ahead of me for a while with the hobby of my life. You may want to include somewhere in there a little snippet about the noise the 50-250 lens makes and how it's normal (kind of like that continuous variable transmission in cars).
Both lenses made a bit of noise when focusing in photography mode, but when recording video they are pretty darn quiet so I did not think much of it. Fair point though Gary and thank you for the kind words and feedback ;) All the best, Jay
Great video. Your perspective is coming from a film shooter. I really appreciate your approach. I wish a digital camera from Nikon was released w/o all the bells and whistles. My main camera was a Pentax 6x7 medium format camera and a hand held meter. To take a great photo doesn't require a high tech camera. I have a basic understanding of the Zone System by Ansel Adams which enables me to see the BIG PICTURE. Thanks again.

this is by far the most complete video on the Z30. Thanks you very much. I just got the Z30 as an entry level camera for my Channel. Your video is so very good.. thank you!. One question maybe I missed it, how do I use bulb with the Z30? is there an intervalometer or an app to use to set a intervalometer setting?
My daily shooter is a Z6ii. I purchased the Z30 as a lighter, smaller carry around alternative. Its a lot of fun, that touch focus opens up all kinds of doors. And I find myself shooting a lot of candid and videos with it. Yes you can do the same with the full frame Z6ii, but it is a bigger, heavier hunk of camera. Thanks for posting your video.
