True bulb planting has become a reluctant ritual of the late fall in my garden. I tell myself every year, I'll pass and then sure enough end up doing it anyways!🤣
You actually kept me company too! I’m watching you work in the rain and it motivated me to put on my Petzl headlight and dig up my dahlias real quick… in the rain, in the dark 😂 I only had 3 of them so it didn’t take long 😊 I have chronic migraines so I typically do most of my gardening in the evening. Or, in the middle of the night when I can’t sleep. It makes me happy so I don’t care if my neighbors think I’m silly 😊😜 I can’t wait to see the bulbs bloom for you!! I still have to get mine in. This is my first time planting them so it should be fun!!
I love this Misty!! The fact that you are willing to throw on a headlamp and just get it done whoever you can, I love that. Sometimes we just need the push and we are thankful we got it done. 😆 I will also be by your guys side cheering you on!! 💗
Thank you so much Mariam, I love that you and other admire the hard work it goes into our garden. I love sharing these projects, especially because it’s not super fun, but the payoff sure is in spring time. 🥰
good morning, great video. it is going to be beautiful. your home and garden is beautiful and the lights look amazing. hope you have a great time on your trip and be safe. it's going to be a show case. i love me some daffodils.
Thanks Sonie!! I’m so excited for spring. I don’t love planting bulbs, but for some reason when I was planting here I was having such a good time, just losing myself in planting. I don’t know why, maybe because I got to share this moment with you all. Either way I’m so excited. Thank you for the safe travels. We will be sharing some videos while we are down in Brazil. 💗🥰
I love alliums! They will be stunning in your landscape next year. When you have the opportunity, take a look at Alliums 'Millenium', 'Serendipity', 'Summer Beauty', 'Bulgaricum', atropurpureum and 'glaucum'. What's even better, neither rabbits or squirrels will eat the allium bulbs as they do with tulips or crocus.
I just went down the rabbit hole with your suggestion, oh my gosh thank you! I honestly am so in love with them and want to learn more about all the varieties. Do yours naturalize well for you? 🥰
@@InTheGardenWithClaudia I’m in Seattle zone 8b/9a and, yes, they naturalize for me. I gave up on any of the bulbs that squirrels eat. I’m on a city lot but would buy tons more alliums if I had the space. They’re so beautiful!
Yes, great question! So we dont cut the grass much in early spring, more towards April is when we really pick it up. With that said, we will just let the grass grow a bit longer and mow everything down together when the bulbs are done blooming. I would say planting early blooms bulbs would be the way to go, that way you don’t have to wait too long to mow. 🥰
Wish I see this planting before snowed here in Alberta good idea for planting bulb I will definitely do this next time, want to buy some of your Dahlia bulb but I’m from Alberta is it possible? Enjoy your vacation
Aww thanks Annette!! I’m super happy I didn’t skip planting them this year. Regarding the dahlias, I may have a small sale in the spring, but unfortunately I wouldn’t be able to ship to Canada, yet. However, there is a farm in CA I love called Dahlia May Flower Farm. Check them out online and maybe you will be able to order from them. 🥰
Ooo. I’m “doing time” putting in bulbs too. I am eager to buy the rose scented geranium. Did you say Robin or maybe Robert Slowman? Could you please spell the name? Thank you.
Oh yay!!!! Are you almost done planting? Also it is called Robers Lemon Rose, I mispronounced it. 🥴 I highly highly recommend it, it’s so lovely and you can smell it when you walk past it. 🥰
I promise you will love rober's lemon rose scented geranium! It’s such a beautiful scent, I absolutely love it. Also I LOVE that you enjoy planting bulbs, I need a friend like you in me life. 😆💗

lol!!! We lie to ourselves every year, no bulbs this year… then orders in bulk. 😆 I know I will appreciate it in the spring time.

That's going to be beautiful. Nicely done video. It almost makes me want to plant more bulbs.. ;)
This made me get into bulb planting mode lol. I was a going to say if you were my neighbor I’d run over and help. 😆 I can’t wait for spring. 🥰

Learned something new on this video when you tucked cuttings in with the geraniums.
Isn’t that great! Super easy and a great way to propagate them. 🥰
The changes you’ve made in how you are filming your videos are fantastic! Beautiful! 🤩
Oh my gosh thank you Emily!! I’m always looking for ways to improve when I edit and film, this means so much to me. 🥰💗🤗
❤❤❤
🥰🥰
You're garden is beautiful. 🪻🌾🪻
Thank you so much! It’s been holding on to a lot of color this year. 💗🥰

Wondering if you are going to keep the grass when the bulbs sprout. How would you mow the grass around? I'm excited to see how it comes out!

@@InTheGardenWithClaudia I'm going to try it too. Thanks!
Congrats on the random placement. That was not easy for you🤣
Lol Michelle!!! I was like just go with it, don’t be ocd, it’s going to be okay. 😆
Beautiful! I made the mistake of adding Bone meal when planting my alliums to have I think raccoons dig them back up! Dang!
Oh really! I’ve heard that can happen. 🥴 we have a resident raccoon that comes to our garden from time to time, so maybe it was good I didn’t. 😆

Can you do a video on all your evergreens. You have some great ones.
Hi Mike!! I actually did two videos recently. 😊 If you click on my Video Tab you can scroll down and I did two tours, front and back. 💗

Thank you! 🤗
Please send the rain our way. We have barely had any in three months. 6b - Massachusetts.
Oh gosh yes!!! I’m so sorry it’s been 3 months!! 🥹
Be careful with the grape hyacinths. They spread LIKE CRAAZZYY. They are very hard to control lol
Oh my gosh yes!!!! Just like blue bells! But I do love them, but I agree they can get wild. 🥴
I had to return to this video to find out the geranium name and say that I’m embarrassed to be the one gardener who loves planting bulbs.
I promise you will love rober's lemon rose scented geranium! It’s such a beautiful scent, I absolutely love it. Also I LOVE that you enjoy planting bulbs, I need a friend like you in me life. 😆💗

Thanks you Gloria! 🥰💗
