Back when I was a freshman in high school my guitar teacher's band opened for Y&T and San Ramon High. I got to roadie for the night for my teacher and ended up helping Leonard load in his drums. Great show, great band.
Y&T was one of the first bands I saw live when I was a kid. Saw them play with Sammy Hagar in the mid 80's. It was the Mean Streak tour! Don't remember the year. It was in Sacramento, CA. Also saw Kiss, The tubes, WASP & Krokus. I was in middle school at the time. Awesome times!
I was front row at this show. It was Faster Pussycat,Ace Frehley and Y & T. It was suppose to be GNR. Faster Pussycat was in raw form and really kicked ass. Ace was so drunk on stage he call us St.Louis. Y & T came out and just blow me away. The one and only time that came to Kanas City. They showed this whole concert on a local channel and I recorded it all and I still have it to this day. A drunken ACE interview was the best part. I'm out
9 morons that don't know good rock gave a thumbs down, such a great band, I've seen them live about 15 times over the years, always a great show, so underated, thankfully here in 2020 going into 2021 they are still rockin

What a great band and one of their best songs. It is so awesome to see these old vidoes and relive my youth. Y&T rocks!!! Meniketti will always be one of the best metal vocalists....rock on.
Great band. I saw them in Philadelphia at a small venue that served alcohol. I took a good friend who was underage, but the guy at the door let him in anyway. My buddy said it was the best live show he'd ever seen.

What do you mean what happened?? Y&T are still around. Phil Kennemore isnt on bass anymore due to his passing but Brad Lang is doing an excellent job now.
@TheSphinxy69 Enjoy the show. But you won't see all THESE guys - only Meniketti is left. Saw them 2 nights ago in Reno, still an awesome presence, very professional.

This is the wrong vid to make this comment on, but with the long-tail coats they wear, I'm a little surprised no serious band ever came onstage with outright superhero capes.(edit) Oh, wait. Did all of KISS do that once? I remember Gene and Ace with them... but, of course, I'm just envisioning some otherwise usual metal band.
Jack blades got hus day in the sun with hus kick butt band damn yankees.... alwats be a d.y. night ranger fan. Jack is just a cool as Dave meniketti. They'll both rock till the very end
Dave has a great voice & some chops on the guitar. IMHO Meniketti would have been a better replacement in Van Halen for DLR. No offense to Sammy intended.
True dat! Never thought of that but now that you mention it, Dave would have added an edginess missing from Van Hagar. (Love Sammy. In fact, Sammy was never better than when he is solo. VH was never better than when they had DLR.)
Very interesting idea. Dave and the original Y&T members were all around and kicking it in the same era Montrose and Sammy Hagar were getting their thing on. I'm sure they all knew each other, and they were all Bay Area favorites. In hindsight it would not have been too outrageous a concept for Dave to have made the same move Sammy did given certain aspects of their backgrounds. But... I think Dave's always been too good, and deservedly ambitious, to have willingly taken a back seat to EVH on guitar and the spotlight. He's his own man and Leonard, Phil, and Joey were a formidable set of bandmates that blew away many other bands of the era talent-wise. Dave's vocals, guitar, and stage presence were, and are, kick ass. It would have been a lot better than how things played out, IMO, for VH, and Dave would be a hell of a lot richer today, but that's life.
Dave is still alive. Rest of the band is not, however. Original drummer Leonard Haze passed. Original 2nd guitarist Joey Alves passed. Original bassist Phil Kennemore passed. Dave still tours with the most recent iteration of Y&T. Jimmy DeGrasso, the drummer in this video, has left and rejoined Y&T a few times, and is still with us.
