The most beautiful Spider-Man suit I've seen and I wish they would continue to use it if Tobey Maguire continues to play the role of Spider-Man in the near and possibly distant future :)
One small detail you missed: The suit wasn't actually all one piece, the shoes are separate from the rest of the suit. This is most apparent in Spider-Man 3 when Tobey removes the shoes and shakes out the sand, but you can also see the shoes are separate in the screentest for Spider-Man 1 because one of the shoes is sliding down his leg
Believe it or not, that's actually not true! They had different suits for different needs; some with separate mask, some with separate the boots (the suit with separate boots you see in the video does not reflect the final one), and even a suit with all separate parts made for the scene where Jameson hangs it on the wall in SM2, but the actual suit they used the most was all one piece. Separating parts of it would have meant losing that "perfectly tensed" look they wanted to achieve, which was the only way to replicate the look from the comics where the suit looks basically painted on him, because it would have meant wrinkles and such.
Not true they used separate suits for boots being removed or the mask being removed most of the suits used in stunts and most shots are all one piece with mask and boots attached
Honestly the only thing that would’ve made this costume better for me if they used bigger eyes for the lenses like the one you showed in the concept art (0:05)
Unlike the comics where the suit is a simple red and blue unitard, Tobey Maguire's suit boasted a raised webbing design. This added detail that made the costume pop and feel real. Furthermore, the almost metallic lenses on the mask gave off a serious vibe, contrasting Spider-Man's lighthearted demeanor.
First suit looks great, with the bigger eyes. I much prefer those eyes to the triangular ones they went with, always thought those lenses just didn't look right.
Personally i liked the first suit better, i know most the changes were small ones but i liked the more rounded eye pieces, and the brighter blue and the chunker spider on the back
He got it made by a wrestlers friend who was a tailor. It’s on the novelizations (which are actually even better than the films as they expand on certain scenes and characters that I wish were in the actual films)
Are you dense? 1.It's to add depth and dimension to the spandex costume on screen. 2. Muscle doesn't show up through spandex, so they have to have padding for the suit for the muscles to keep their density. And the muscle suit was actually made by a body cast of Tobey. I’m glad they didn’t go with the black lenses and the more modern look where the mask is basically a helmet that opens.
Hello Pijon!
brrp
I love the mcu but the whole nano tech thing threw me off for a bit and got used to it but I’m glad he has a new suit now
black lense was used in Amazing spider man 1
@@austine6269 They were gold

@@izzy5821 I said my opinion,
There is nothing to argue about taste and smell.
You are right to think differently and I respect you for that :)

Also they had a little button piece at the feet to hold the suit together better without it constantly rolling up

This suit is just so beautiful. Best superhero suit in any live action movie by far for me

The black lenses look actually cool
They do but after a while of looking it just feels lifeless like you're staring at two blank screens.
They used them in TASM1.
@@Сайтамен those are yellow, dark yellow.
not black, they were thinking of using black ones but they didn’t
NO THEY LOOK STUPID
best suit

Same his lenses look awesome,in general for me the 1st movie is the best one i love his wrestler suit as well lol
The one at 0:12? It looks like garbage
Same and the fat back spider was my favorite part about that suit.
Damn, no lie those black lenses look fucking cool
0:02 suit looks like the Spider-Man PS4 Advanced Suit
Thank GOD for Raimi
Those dumb producers were about to ruin things from the very start
What did the producers ruin in the final film?

This suit is beautiful
The big red spider symbol is awesome
Raimi was a Top G For Not Reinamagining the Suit
"Tobey would end up being sewd into the suit"
Hmm... is it Venom vibes or is it Springlocks vibes?
Wow amazing video! Definitely earned a sub
I really love this Suit more than Andrew's or Tom's
I like that one design they didn't use ended up in the video game.
well CG is the FUTURE!
thats one thing i hated about tom's version, they reinvented the suite by just making him iron man 2.0
His homecoming suit is awesome
Hey that was before spidey got a movie! And that's why spider-man is imposter!
Amazing suit

That's me spiderman
What about the Alex Ross design suit ??
Now I know how they made it but HOW DID PETER MAKE IT HE’S A BROKE TEENAGER

thank god James didn't direct the movie
good
Cool

Making the suit look muscular through bumps and texture shows a failure to make Toby actually muscle up for filming
Even henry cavills superman suit has muscle padding. You cant achieve that look naturally

They used the black lenses for stunt prefromers, they had no intension of using them throughtout the entirety of the film.
