Love his vibrato!
Kinda viberato even XD
Amazing characteristic voice Horace Andy has.
Powerful minimal performance.
i'm in love with this band, song, singer. fucking awesome
I love this song!!
me too!!
So beautiful so good, it feeds my soul
Absolutely dripping with atmosphere and menace. Love it! Quite incredible just how much they managed to transform the entire sound and feel of the track from its almost jolly original into something so dark and brooding, but it really works, and definitely a highlight of the album.
I do find Horace's voice and the overall performance much better than the original. Massive Attack does bring that thing which no other artist/band can.
this is perfection
My very favourite song from Massive Attack !
@bensley56
This is a song originally performed by The Paragons. It was written by John Holt in the 1960s.
I bump this every day i go to work
My favorite song !
Im really addict to this song and this version. Sobre todo una madrugada de Enero.
Discovered both MA and Dr Alimantado separately and boy am I glad to have heard both versions of this song, because they both sound so damned amazing. Can't pick a favourite!
Beautiful
Flawless.
what a simple text, but what a catchy song
the best music I've ever heard.
@steffa2012 Your right on the money with the John Holt cover. I believe it was Horace Andy's suggestion to Massive that they cover it.
Massive Attack have got in trouble before for using unapproved samples in their music. The most well known case being Manfred Mann sueing them over using a sample from his song "Tribute" in their own song "Black Milk" which appears on Mezzanine.
gorgeous song
Amazing.
Ugh so amazing! Massive + Horace = Heaven.
The drums and bass set the groove to this intoxicating song.
my favorite song too!!
I prefer the Dennis Brown version, but Horace's voice is one of a kind. Love him!
Gracias. Excelente versión.
OUTSTANDING!
одна из лучших песен масивов
My fav version
People are bitchin about him being 'out of tune'- considering it's live and not the easiest song to sing, i think he did a fine job. Like to see the critics even come CLOSE to that
This is great!
This might sound a bit random, but does anybody know what hi hats their drummer uses? They're so clean I love them.
AMAZING O_O
He sings it like '...take my familee- ee- ee- ee ' on the studio track.
Genius this' proper industrial sounding beat and backing track with that deep bass
Bet it sounded massive live
Kind of want to hear him doing Banned in DC
mr bass and horace andy respect from mexico
massivedope zomby
Hear Hear py1000! Im with you on that one
This version produced by King tubby is also very interesting:Horace Andy & John Holt - Quiet Place extended with King Tubbys Dub - 10 INCH Trojan Records 1975.
* Great *
true :)
hermoso
fucking timeless
@bensley56
No.
In the liner notes, it always says 'music and lyrics by massive attack'
Horaceeeee Andyyy!!
maravilha, bravissima.
All this time I thought he was singing "Fussing Fart"not "Fuss and Fight" Lol!!😄
holy shit me too
Then you have an infantile mind and a poor grasp on common sense
This voice....
gut gemacht
Horace legend BOOM
you've 100% right lol :D nice said :D
horace andy is amazing
2024?
@py1000 Yeah but the quality's not that great though is it?
Solo loro questa atmo
do massive attack write all the lyrics? or do the featured singers write their own?
So funny voice)
que chimba Horace!
mean moody and magnificent...man next door sound good whoever plat it from the slits to horace andy to whoever......
you must be new to Massive Attack
But the original singer in the classic is John Holt...¿True?...I prefer the original song,though also the U Roy's version...Anyhow,always is nice to hear the Horace Andy 's voice.
SINGER IS HORACY ANDY
I know it's Jamaican reggae at first, and black, but I thought it had a North to Centre West African sound, on the recording. Sort of Mali not Marley.
Black? Stop, man. Music cannot be quantified by goofy social constructs. Sound is Universal, & MEANT to be so
massive attack covers The Slits
coll bass at 1:28
genius.com/artists/John-holt, was the composer of
the lyrics
@hirofan
Rofl. Obviously you haven't listened to all of Mezzanine, one of the greatest albums ever created.
@hirofan massive attack is not a dub band =),
@hirofan i don't like Rush, but i don't think they suck. i don't like Mozart, but i don't think he sucks. i don't like bob marley, but i don't think he sucks.
You must've been high to suggest massive attack sucks.
@thegiannimerda fucken eh. i thought it was
....it´s music....thks to DENNIS BROWN !!!!
true.. but I think I prefer Massive Attack's version. Still
Долой Штолле!
@3amsleep
Ha! I don't remember writing that.
This band is OK but I don't think they
deserve to be considered legendary or
ground breaking. Dub Is A Weapon is
a better dub band.. their arrangements
more imaginative..
not bad actually
五木ひろしに聞こえる
covers? massive attack covers who?
the Drummer looks like a tiny man at 1.06
@py1000 It makes me realize that they are becoming a kind of politically correct dictator thinking they have the right to decide for people what is good or bad to listen to. I'm getting hungrier and hungrier at them each day a little bit more,,, most of my favorite song are gone !,,,, And why ?,,, No further explanation !... but, see, I(m still here !,,,,,
Good tune but he is singing out of tune.
Убийственная вещь.
а поет как баба
Impresive but original Paragons, John Holt,Dennis Brown,Horace Andy.. reggae versions are better
ua-cam.com/video/OxWHo5fHiTI/v-deo.html
He sounds like he should look like a skinny little white guy..the guitarist looks like a Ghostbuster...I love this band anyways
Good God I hate his voice.
Horace is my main man.. Sleepy..
But I don't like Massive Attack.. they ruin all
his songs. I am thankful that they introduced
Horace to the younger generation but as a band
they suck..
This is terrible
But the original is nice 😎
i'm in love with this band, song, singer. fucking awesome
Corina Germino Horace Andy. He has great roots reggae albums. Including the original version of this song. :)
