I have an old S3 with an broken glass screen in the beginning I was like "I'll do the same", after 30 seconds I was like "No way" 😂 thanks for the video it was very interesting to see how it's built
I loved my S3… It got old very quickly which meant it couldn’t keep up with most apps! I did however drop it down the toilet, cleaned it up and sold it for decent money at the time! I may reinvest and store as I’ve done with other phones!
I like this video.. it make me want to service a phone.. i hope next video you can show the type of equipment n tools what u use.. its very interesting skill n knowledge
Amazing! But I wonder why you didn't use tape to secure the broken digitizer when removing, or used only one card to remove the LCD :o In any case, patience is a virtue and the results speak for itself! Excellent job!
Thankyou! The front glass has a laminated layer underneath, which holds all the glass in 1 piece, so it's not necessary to tape it. Fyi, the glass is not a digitzer, its just glass, the digitzer is layered on top of the AMOLED display.
This is what i call a "Pro repair"! 1000 likes for you and subscribed 👍 By the way, where can i buy a good battery? I find only old ones online and with crazy shipping prices.
No I cleaned the edges fully before hardening it finally. I cleaned it with a plastic razor blade, and with Isopropyl Alcohol and microfibre cloth. I couldn't show the whole cleaning process, I needed to edit it.
any suggestion on where should i try to look for a red display and back cover for an S3? i have a red one with unfortunately a broken screen and no back but i do have a new frame i could use for it with display adheasive preinstalled. the colors actual name was "Burgundy Red" if i remember correcly... never mind i just looked it up and it was "Garnet Red". i mixed up the red from the S8 and S9
Nice, I just saw it in your video. Good luck with it. In my country/city the stores have put the phone recycling bins behind the counter so no one bin dives :(
These videos mesmerize me, but on the back of my head I always had this burning question: Why bother repairing this 9 year phone? It's not like anyone is going to use it. And the answer is probably: content.
I’m back here again, watching you repair this seemingly destroyed phone to mint condition - zen like. I wonder - what do you do with the phones you repair? Sell, give to homeless, collect, use yourself? I wonder because I was thinking that a 9 year old samsung can’t have a lot of resale value and will have no software support.
Doing a glass only repair is not an easy thing, that went from one of the worst s3s to one of the best I've ever seen. The brown colour way is under rated
I remember when I was recording something on my S3 in 2019, then it fell on the front, the screen broke and the touch didn’t work anymore. The next day I got a different unit, but I had everything transfered on to it. It was black S3.
I can handle laptops that way, but this... I wonder If I could do this to my S3. After repeative drops metal with already cracked screen The screen went black but everything else seems to work or idk... It isn't that bad like here though. Maybe I have change to revive it...
I tried many softwares to acces it. One said that" this procedure can harm your phone for good"... I hope I didnt kill it. I only want my photos out... at least.
It's very weird how I have a Lenovo tablet that's around $30 that has been with me since 5 years Still works even getting 3 broken lines from occassion falls
This video should be titled "The most patient human being on earth". Excellent work. Very riveting!
Despite being an old model, the phone looks georgous when it shines like a new piece of tech. Good job, mate and thanks for the video!

The phone whisperer. Very impressive. Patience and precision. I liked the lilac nail varnish touch.
Cheers mate
This has to be one of the best restoration videos I've ever seen!
Removable battery, micro SD slot, headphone jack.... this phone has more features that the latest S21
And a charger in the box.
Well you can actually fucking repair this one? The other one is a God damn paper weight.
i stopped being a samsung fan after the s10 for that reason
@@fix-it-flo samsung A series still have headphone jack and sd slot

I'm not sure to be honest. Probably not
Love your vids. Keep up the.good work
How did you clean the edges of the glass so well? You cleaned the LOCA again after it hardened? From 13:04 to 13:43 is a big difference.
No I cleaned the edges fully before hardening it finally. I cleaned it with a plastic razor blade, and with Isopropyl Alcohol and microfibre cloth. I couldn't show the whole cleaning process, I needed to edit it.
@@RestoreTechnique Thanks for the reply, cheers! Will try doing a similar repair soon, hence the question.

Yes content, plus nostalgia
Does it for educational purposes.

All this work for a phone that’s not even worth £30? But great repair, shows how tough these phones were with the lack of repairability.

Probably just for collection purposes, plus he’s most likely going to make back the money with this video
16:33 is that a replacement volume flex or the old one?
I can't remember exactly, but I think it was the old one which I cleaned with IPA
