    Very good methods! "Shadowing" reminds me of my studying English a long time ago, when they started broadcasting in bilingual system in Japan, using a TV cop show to repeat every line during comuting to my college...

    I immediately dropped my water on me the moment I heard Beneath the Mask (instrumental) right on me. I absolutely love P5R. I learned some Japanese from P5R and ironically a lot on what I didn’t think I would on psychology o~o

      Haha, sorry to laugh at your misfortune but thank you for sharing! I'm glad that I could bring that sense of "Last Surprise" to you...sorry bad joke. The persona games are dense with dialogue, so definitely intimidating but plenty of good Japanese material to learn. Also, the music is my favorite out of any game series, especially P5 and P5R.

    Thank you for the great video! Do you have any anime recommendations for N5-4 lvl?

    • @CrossingtoJapan

      It's hard for me to make any recommendations, mainly because I think you should just watch what you want. But in general for learning, N5-4 level should stick with anime made primarily for children, like Doraemon. However, even for N5-4 level learners, I think it's useful to watch a lot of slice of life anime like Yuru Camp, Sakura Quest, You Lie in April, etc. School settings without supernatural phenomena are good in general. You can learn a lot of informal conversation. Also a lot of the Studio Ghibli films like Spirited Away or My Neighbor Totoro can be good. Again, watch what you enjoy, even if it is hard to understand everything!

      Polar Bear Café and Skilled Teaser Takagi-san
      Very rewatchable that is the closet although any anime you watch will have words that are higher than N4.

      @@southcoastinventors6583 I also wanted to say Polar Bear Café! And interestingly it shows up in the Animelon part of this video at 3:33, since Panda is in the banner 😄

    Can you please enable auto-subs for your video? I'm hard of hearing and your pronunciation isn't always clear enough to understand everything-FOR ME.
    The sites seem really helpful, thanks!
    Do you know a site with Romaji subs? You're by far not the only person that's hard to hear for me, nor English the only language.

      It should be good to go! Thank you for letting me know! Animelon has a Romaji option, but I would recommend that you learn Kana instead. It should only take a week or two of study, practice, and memorization to have them 95% memorized, so it is worth your time. Learning Kana will make it easier for you to learn the language too.

    I want to learn just speaking and listening skills can I do it with this advice in this video or do I have to learn writing and reading ?

    • @CrossingtoJapan
      @CrossingtoJapan  7 місяців тому

      You can definitely improve your listening ability if you follow this advice. But you will want other inputs for listening to include more natural conversations, and of course you want to find ways to practice speaking with native speakers or something similar. For reading and writing, you technically don't have to learn if you just want to speak and listen, but it will drastically help you if you can at least read basic things, mainly hiragana and katakana. You will be surprised how much more you pick up when you can read in Japanese.
