Sr Francis Xavier arrived in Melaka my hometown in West Malaysia following the Portuguese conquest of the port city in 1511. He visited Melaka several times and performed various miracles including raising the dead. He sailef from Melaka to Japan to preach the Gospel and wanted to do likewise in China but succumbed to illness before reaching China. His incorruptible body was interred in Melaka and later exhumed and now lies in Goa, India. We have a Church and school named after him in Melaka.❤

Exactly! As Jesus said in Matthew 16:26, *“What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?”* It’s a powerful reminder that no worldly success or wealth is worth losing our eternal salvation. Keeping our hearts and minds focused on what truly matters is the path that leads to true life.
Her pastor must be Christ, the Holy Spirit as the Revealer... you can learn something so crucial... dont harden your heart to the absolute truth. @venture7486
Christianity is the epitome of Honour and Strength, only most people are too deluded to see it. Christianity has a history full of warriors who value life and seek not to destroy it but to preserve it. To preserve life sometimes we must destroy those who would do us harm and spread evil amongst us. Anyone who claims to be a Christian and yet has not fundamentally changed in all they hold true and dear is not a Christian at all. True Christians are far rarer than we’re led to believe. Most will fall. This is not a game we’re playing.
You bring up a strong and thought-provoking point. Christianity does call us to a life of transformation-one that values both strength and compassion, and where true honor means standing up for what is right. It’s a faith that demands real change in the heart and a willingness to sacrifice for the good of others. It’s true, the path isn’t easy, and not everyone will persevere, but those who embrace it fully strive to live by a higher standard.
It’s a great point, and I’m glad you’ve been sharing it. It’s an important part of understanding Ukon’s story and his struggle to balance faith and culture.
Absolutely! The story of Blessed Ukon Takayama is truly extraordinary. Who would have thought that a samurai would embrace Christianity with such devotion and stand firm against intense opposition? His unwavering faith and resilience are inspiring examples for all of us. May his legacy encourage us to remain steadfast in our own journey with Christ. Thank you for your thoughtful comment! God bless you!
Exactly! Ukon Takayama’s story is all about transformation. He traded the way of the sword for the way of Christ, finding peace in Luzon after being exiled from Japan for his faith. His journey from warrior to disciple is truly inspiring.
Thanks for pointing that out! Yes, the history of Christianity in Japan is richer and more complex than many realize. Ken Joseph's *Japan: Nation of the Cross* sheds light on the early Christian presence in Japan, even before the arrival of figures like St. Francis Xavier in the 16th century. It’s a fascinating reminder that the seeds of faith were planted in Japan much earlier than commonly thought!
Thank you for your comment! You're absolutely right-Ukon Takayama's story is perfect for a movie! His journey of faith, sacrifice, and courage as a Christian samurai would be incredibly powerful on the big screen. A film could inspire many people, not only by showcasing his life but also by highlighting the deep connection between faith and honor. Hopefully, one day his story will reach a wider audience through a movie! God bless!

Absolutely! The reach of technology today is a huge blessing for spreading the Gospel. We can share the message of Christ far beyond what was possible before, reaching people in remote areas and places where faith might be struggling. It’s a powerful tool to bring hope and light to those who need it most.
I've been puzzled. My parent was a teen in Nagasaki @ the time of the hit. At the time of the hit, Nagasaki & Hiroshima were the largest & highest densities of Christians likely in the whole of Asia. She stated the hits SAVED the people in the nation - there was no other means to end & free Japan from the visc0us unlimited ongoing tyr.anny. Seems the Takayama story is an earlier uncovering of the reality.
Correction! Not and never Tyranny! But Supremacy! But the answered was a dropped of ATOMIC BOMB! ISAIAH 46:11 GOLDEN EAGLE 🦅 of the EAST! ISAIAH 41:2,7 GOLDSMITH
So Nagasaki and Hiroshima were the largest Christian populations not only in Japan, but the whole of Asia ! And that's where the USA decided to drop their nuclear bombs?
This is false. The bombs were never necessary, the Japanese never refused to surrender they refused to surrender unconditionally. That is a colossal difference. Considering the r"pe of Germany after WW1 leading to WW2, they were correct to refuse unconditional surrender. So they planned to await the arrival of the Soviets to create a stalemate between the US and Soviets, thus forcing the US to negotiate. The Americans did not want to wait for that.
The Philippines was already largely Catholic at that time. So I doubt it that Nagasaki and Hiroshima were the largest populations. I would rather say that both cities were the most Christian cities in Japan. Manila was greatly devasted in WWII during the Battle of Manila with around 100,000 casualties. @@deadmoney5580

Her story is a reminder of how God continues to reach out to us through His servants.
Haha, that’s a great way to put it! Ukon Takayama really does seem like he’s got the best of both worlds-a true warrior for Christ with a story that feels like it could be straight out of an anime!
Thank you for your comment! You're absolutely right-Ukon Takayama's story is incredibly inspiring, yet it’s not as widely known as it should be. His story deserves to be shared more, and it’s through efforts like these videos that we can help bring his remarkable life to the attention of more people. God bless!

I only heard of Ito Ogami under the Tukugawa Shogun Rule. He was a Harakiri Officer who fell in disgrace and his wife was murdered. He and his son Daigoro hit the road all throughout Feudal Japan and became the archetype of a hired assasin.
It sounds like you’re referring to *Lone Wolf and Cub*, the classic manga series by Kazuo Koike and Goseki Kojima. The story centers around Ogami Itto, a former executioner for the Tokugawa Shogunate who is framed for treason and becomes an assassin for hire, traveling through Japan with his young son, Daigoro. It’s a fictional tale, but it draws heavily on the historical setting of feudal Japan and the concept of the wandering ronin. While Ogami Itto’s story is fictional, it does capture the themes of honor, revenge, and the harsh realities of the samurai code, making it a compelling narrative against the backdrop of Japan’s history. Stories like his and that of Ukon Takayama, though different, both explore the tensions between duty, honor, and personal convictions.
@@CatholicJourneyy Thanks for clarifying...... it was a fictional character but based on possible true facts in history, just like "Martin Fierro" of Argentina.
Jesuit priests always interfere with the Japanese ways and life style in the 1500s. Tokugawa Iyaesu found out that an English man who was actually a Christian person who had nothing to do with the Roman Catholic religion and the Jesuit priests; his name is William Adams in 1600. Even though he came on a Dutch ship, only the Dutch and English can actually trade with Japan. Shimabara Rebellion in Japan actually made a terrible slaughter against Japanese Catholics, Samurai Christians in 1634-1636.
Thank you for your comment and for bringing up important historical events. It's true that the Jesuit missionaries, like St. Francis Xavier, had a significant impact on Japanese society in the 1500s, seeking to share the Gospel while navigating complex cultural and political realities. The Shimabara Rebellion, and the tragic persecution of Japanese Catholics that followed, is a sorrowful chapter in history. While William Adams’ presence and the Dutch influence are historically notable, it’s important to remember that the Catholic missionaries’ intentions were rooted in evangelizing the faith, not political control. The persecution of Christians, particularly during the Tokugawa era, was a painful reminder of how faith can sometimes be met with opposition. Despite this, the Catholic faith persisted in Japan, with hidden Christians (Kakure Kirishitan) keeping their faith alive in secret for centuries. God bless!
Justo means Fair in Portuguese , the word Justo comes from the Portuguese word Justiça, meaning ⚖️ Justice, " o Justo procura Justiça" JUSTO = Fair or righteousness
Exactly! "Justo" in Portuguese is closely tied to the idea of justice and righteousness. It describes someone who seeks fairness and upholds what is right. It’s a beautiful word that captures the essence of living with integrity and pursuing what is just. Thanks for sharing that insight!
You're right, Ukon's story has all the elements for a compelling anime-faith, honor, sacrifice, and epic battles. It would be amazing to see more stories like his brought to life through that medium!
It doesn't, which is why I don't follow what the catholic church says. In fact I speak against it at times because of the obvious idolatry it practices. When I do pray, I only pray to God, Jesus and Holy Spirit. Only Jesus is the bridge between us and God.
The Bible does not explicitly instruct Christians to pray to Mary. The practice of asking for Mary’s intercession comes from the Catholic tradition, which sees her as a spiritual mother and a powerful intercessor because of her unique role in the life of Jesus. Catholics often refer to passages like Luke 1:28, where the angel Gabriel greets Mary with, *“Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with you,”* and Luke 1:42, where Elizabeth says, *“Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb.”* These verses emphasize Mary’s special role in salvation history, which is why she is highly honored in Catholicism. Catholic teaching sees asking Mary to pray for us as similar to asking a friend to pray on our behalf, based on the belief in the “communion of saints” mentioned in passages like Hebrews 12:1 and Revelation 5:8, where the prayers of the faithful are presented before God. However, this practice is rooted in tradition rather than a direct Biblical command. Christians from different traditions may have varying views on this, and it’s always valuable to discuss these differences with respect.
Thank you for sharing your heartfelt thoughts! It's wonderful to hear your desire for unity through God's love. As Catholics, we believe that God's love is the ultimate source of unity and peace for all nations. While the concept of reincarnation isn't part of Catholic teaching, we appreciate your passion for spreading love and understanding. May we all work together to bring others closer to God through love rather than conflict. God bless you abundantly!
Yes, you might be referring to the village of Shingo in Japan, which is known as the "Tomb of Jesus Christ." According to a local legend, Jesus survived the crucifixion, traveled to Japan, and lived out his days there as a farmer. This story isn't recognized or supported by historical evidence or Christian tradition, but it’s a curious local legend that has attracted attention. It shows how stories about Jesus have a way of appearing in different cultures, even in unexpected places like rural Japan.
I might be mistaken but this entire video feels like it was created by AI. Images, script, voice, and music. Cool story, but I still have ethical qualms with the overuse of AI. I suppose it would be better to use AI for this purpose than for something else, but I steel feel like its inauthentic. My apologies if I am wrong.
Thank you for your comment. The video about Ukon Takayama, the "Samurai of Christ," refers to a historical figure from the late 16th and early 17th centuries, not the Japanese army during World War II. Ukon Takayama was a Christian samurai who remained steadfast in his Catholic faith despite persecution, long before the events of the 20th century. If you have any other questions or thoughts about the topic, feel free to share. God bless!

This man is a true inspiration.
If movies about hidden slavery history could be made, why not one about Ukon Takayama, a man forgotten into the pale pages of history? This is quite a revelation and it should be adapted onto the screen for all Christians to learn about, thereby deepening their faith in Jesus Christ.
He has been immortalized by the Philippines by creating a statue in his memory
That’s an excellent point! Ukon Takayama’s story is both inspiring and historically significant, yet it remains relatively unknown. His life-marked by faith, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication to Christ-has all the elements for a powerful film or series. Bringing his story to the screen would not only highlight a lesser-known chapter of Christian history but also strengthen the faith of many by showing what it truly means to stand firm in belief, even in the face of persecution.
Exactly! As Jesus said in Matthew 16:26, *“What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?”* It’s a powerful reminder that no worldly success or wealth is worth losing our eternal salvation.

Ken Joseph wrote Japan Nation of the Cross as a history of Christianity Japan. Hint: It started way before the 16th century.

The awesome thing about the technology that we have today is that we can spread the gospel even further , especially into the darkest of regions that need to hear about Jesus
Absolutely! The reach of technology today is a huge blessing for spreading the Gospel.
So killing hundreds of thousands of innocent people is justified in your mind? Doesn't sound very Christian to me...

God bless!

Where in the Bible does It say Christians are to pray to Mary?
Catholic church has long been ran by satanist and mafia.
It doesn't, which is why I don't follow what the catholic church says. In fact I speak against it at times because of the obvious idolatry it practices. When I do pray, I only pray to God, Jesus and Holy Spirit. Only Jesus is the bridge between us and God.
To Jesus through Mary. Amen.
Where is your church 1000 years ago?
Remind one of the centuriun Cornelious,Longinus, and many other soldiers for Christ

There also is a shrine that I have heard of in Japan a shrine they claim was of Jesus in their country.
