I loved Lego Chima!!! I I loved the idea of Chima and had most of the sets. This was the first Lego line that I tried to collect every set for, and if it weren’t for Chima I wouldn’t be as big of a Lego fan as I am today. I sold the sets a while back though.
Maybe it's a little weird, but as a kid I always mixed Chima with Thundercats. I never really cared for either, so they just blended together in my mind and I'd pass by Chima stuff and think "Huh, Thundercats LEGO."
I loved this LEGO theme so much that it was one of my favorites, because it had anthropomorphic animals. Something that you cannot find in any other LEGO theme, (Except Vidiyo and Ninjago, but they just only have anthropomorphic snakes and people who turn into animals, but that’s basically it), I miss it so much that I got a post on LEGO Life going to ask LEGO to bring it back. My love for Chima got me into “Zootopia”, and other works of fiction that have those kinds of characters. Now anthropomorphic animal fantasy/fiction is my most favorite genre of fiction. And it’s all thanks to LEGO: Legends of Chima. (Also “The Lion King”, “Madagascar”, “Robin Hood”, etc.)
This video brings back so many memories, I remember being in San Diego in 2013 and visiting legoland every month, I couldn’t express my joy when I bought these two foam swords representing this lion and crocodile... Good times
I remember liking chima a lot. I didn't get very many sets because overall it's not exactly the type of sets I'm into. I prefer castle, pirates and star wars. But I still thought chima was cool, and a nice change of pace, something different. My personal favorite tribes were the wolves and eagles.
The theme that brought me back into Lego > Saw Lego Crocodiles, bought a few for my desk > Loved them > Got more, watched the show > Fully invested I now buy Lego regularly
Chima was and still is one of the best Lego lines ngl. My favorite is the icebear claw dropper. But I still hold a special place on my shelf for the mammoth stomper.
Besides Ninjago, Hero Factory and Chima were my two favourite themes. It is disappointing to me that both were abandoned after quite a short time compared to other themes.
dude i was such a big fun of chima as a kid and have a decent collection , idk why it died out , my whole class collected these. chima was the most creative and inovative thing made at the time
Chima was the reason I got a 3DS and was what got me into Ninjago a year later (2014/2015). I rewatched the second season a year ago and it was nostalgic and funny. Definitely going to rewatch it again
My favorite Chima memories will always be when my brother bought me the Lion Chi Temple for my 11th birthday. It's been in pieces for years, but I will always remember that.
As a kid I loved Chima. The eagle airplane build from the first wave (can't remember the name for the life of me) was the first large scale LEGO build I had ever made. That build kinda cemented my love for LEGO in the first place. I was unhappy they took it off the shelves but now that I actually know the reason I guess it kinda made sense. Also the Legends of Chima TV Series is the only series I have ever watched completely and loved every bit of it.
My favorite seasons from the show were season 2 and 3, The Legend beasts were fun sets and I got all five and those sets got my interest in chima :) I hope Chima comes back one day.
Unpopular opinion, but I personally prefer Chima over Ninjago. Getting animal-themed vehicles is certainly far more interesting than the dozens of generic, bland ninja vehicles which we still get year after year.
I think something that could've helped was more setpieces, as you said, there's only so many ways you can make a lion car. That's something I've wondered a lot recently but it does feel like ever since Ninjago hit the scene Lego has been less and less interested in doing setpieces, which is a shame because they were always my favorite kind of set.
Most of LEGO's non-one-shot themes tend to have two release waves in a year, a winter/spring wave and a summer/fall wave. This applied to Chima too, so I'd say it had 5 waves rather than 3. W/Sp 2013: Debt wave, introduced speedorz and the theme in general Su/F 2013: 2nd wave, introduced gorillas, ultrabuilds W/Sp 2014: 3rd wave, outlands arc, legend beasts, introduced rhinos bats spiders & scorpions Su/F 2014: 4th wave, fire&ice arc, new speedorz design, 2nd ultrabuilds wave W/Sp 2015: 5th wave, continuation/conclusion of fire&ice arc, tribe packs, introduction of bears
The legend of Chima sets were my childhood. I was a massive fan of the LEGO sets in 2013 and was angry at LEGO for discontinuing the theme😅 If I find a Chima set, I'll definitely buy it because it represents my childhood
I grew up playing with chima sets and watching the show on tv. When the line got canceled i thought they were writing the script for the next season witch i thought it would be dinosaurs
Whenever I went to the store as a young kid, I always fell in love with all the Lego Chima sets. I only ever got one, but that was my favorite set for forever.
thanks for this amazing video! Chima was my first serious LEGO intrest. I have bunch of a figures, ten magazines, all legendary beasts, three polybags and Vardy's Vulture:)
I remember waking up on Saturdays to watch the cartoon. That, Pokémon, Beyblade, and (I think, don’t remember if it was still going at the time) Bakugan were the highlights of my weekends back then as a kid.
The summer 2014 chima wave(the first fire and ice wave) is my favorite lego wave of any lego wave ever. I'm a sucker for transparent pieces, especially minifigure arms and legs. Also, the fact that every fire set transformed and every ice set had a detachable/hidden vehicle is such an awesome concept, and one that I loved at the time(though I wasn't able to get many of the sets at the time)
I loved this show as a kid! I even remember building my own castle for the competition lol. Honestly I don’t know why the hate for chima is so strong now as I think it was a pretty decent theme. In some ways it actually replaced ninjago for me at the time. Kinda wish they gave this theme another shot.
I believe I only ever got a few chima sets but there is only 2 I remember which are Gorzans Gorilla striker and the croc swam hideout. I thought the hideout was a super cool play set with tons of features and I remember playing with it a lot. But after the first wave I didn’t buy any more sets. I was always a lego Star Wars fan and 2014 and 2015 were some of the best years so it makes sense why I didnt buy more chima sets later.
I remember I only got just ONE set from this franchise. That was number 70000, Razcal’s Glider. I also vividly remember reading those old LEGO Club magazines & seeing those ads for LEGO Chima. Good times..
God i loved chima as a kid. I had all of the first batch of ultrabuilds, i had all 5 legend beasts, I even had the mammoth mech thing and the lion castle. I loved both Chima and Ninjago equally as kids, and i was really sad when they discontinued chima. Hopefully Chima can get a revival.
Chima was my favourite theme when it was out. I got the Lion Chi Temple for Christmas and adored it. I also built a full sized temple from the show in Minecraft. Sad to see how it ended up
I never bought any Chima sets, but I watched the whole series some years back. I’d be glad to do it again. I loved it. Quick question. How do we get down from here?
My Eagle Interceptor is actually still sitting on my shelf in my room. it's actually my second copy of the set since the other one was dismantled for parts by my siblings, and even this one is missing some pieces, but it's there.
Chima was my personal favorite theme when I was younger, I remember wanting the mammoth so bad and not being able to get it, but regardless the nostalgia from Chima is way too much, I wish they’d give Chima another chance.
Honestly, as much as I loved Chima, if reviving it would mean it getting a "The Lego Chima Movie", then I'd rather it stay dead. Why? You ask, well it's because of what The Lego Ninjago Movie did to Ninjago. Not even just seasons, but entire multi-season arcs, of plot, story, and character development, just completely abandoned after a single movie effectively just completely retconned it away. That movie, or rather the season after it, was why I lost interest in Ninjago, and I don't want the nostalgia of Chima to suffer the same fate.
When I was a kid, I remember going to the library and getting all of the LEGO chima books they had. I also got all of the chima books that came to the book fair at my school. Those were the days….
I had quite the Chima collection in the early days! My favorite (still to this day) is the Lion Chi Temple. I regret to tell that I sold them all off in 2019. I wish I hadn't...
I still miss Chima's online game, also, I somewhat remember that there were some Legandary Beasts for the Scorpion, Spider and Bat tribes that would fight the ones of the original 8 tribes
There was a small crossover moment during the Ninjago Haunted season. When Lloyd and Morrow i believe, fight for the realm crystal, they hop dimensions. One of them is the Legends Of Chima realm.
That’s cool that of the two of those huge sets that were released one was opened and documented and the other was left sealed, that way someone got to enjoy the set and there’s still a sealed version of the set
WOW! I remember loving this theme, and when I was on holiday in the US, (I was 5) I begged my parents to buy Cragger’s command ship, and then when I got home I saw the set on Australian shelves too so….
If only I wasn't a foolish child, then and kept those put together I'm sure I would still have some from the first wave. I miss Chima and wish Lego would make more. Heck even a reboot of remastered sets I would still buy. Alas, one child would not affect the economy.
Man I miss Chima even more now. I have the lion temple, honestly one of my favorite builds because of the bridge. I also have the big phenoix vehicle but i wish it was better because mine never did work properly
so I actually grew up with the ninjago sets. But my best friend had a lot of chima sets and I became invested into the series. I started to like both. I even remember entering the contest for the big chima box.
I never got into the Chima sets as I wasn’t collecting any themes or sets yet but I thought the animated show was interesting and I liked how each of the characters had their own unique personalities and how the main antagonist of the first two seasons was mostly doing bad things because he was being mind controlled and that he started to slowly become less affected each time he was being controlled. The world had a very interesting concept and I did think it was clever to have the main source of power in that world be used as the prize for winning races.
I loved chima. I watched the whole series, bought a couple sets, played with said sets which resulted in many of them breaking and I have the whole series on dvd
I had a lot of Chima sets as a kid. Like, a lot. We had the lion temple, croc hideout, several of the speedorz, and a lot of vehicles. Always wondered what happened to it.
I got the eagle speeder thing from the first wave. I was getting to an age where I was overall less interested in toys, but idk I thought the eagle figure looked cool. It's still in my room.
Me personally, I was always of the opinion Ninjago hit it’s peak after Lloyd defeated the Overlord for the first time, it wrapped up the storyline in a nice well thought, albeit flawed ribbon. And felt like anything after that was really unnecessary, both Chima and Ninjago are opposite ends of a problem with themes. Where you have one that is milked out for all it’s worth and is dragged out for far past it’s prime. And then you have one that hasn’t reached its potential and was cut off right when they found it’s footing. I think if Chima where to ever come back it would need to stand out in the way Monkie Kid is. But that’s just how I see it. I really loved this theme, it was one of the very few I was actively involved in keeping up with. I remember watching so many stop motions surrounding the theme and throwing their own twist on the story. One thing I really appreciated about Chima was how from a story and character perspective, they’re all pretty much regular people with the obvious exception of them being animals and Chi. They weren’t some elemental masters who basically were above everyone else. It felt more real and down to earth on all the diverse cultures fighting over a natural resource.
Chima was a cool line of sets, and brought forth some of the coolest LEGO designs I've ever seen; the only problem I ever saw was that it was, well, animals. I say this because after building sets, it was difficult to incorporate these into other storylines when playing with LEGO. One thing that wasn't mentioned in your video was Legoland's opening of the Chima ride in 2013, which then closed just a few years later to make way for a LEGO Movie ride. It was strange to me at the time that they introduced a brand new Chima ride (something relatively new that already seemed like wouldn't go far) instead of introducing a ride about the well-established Ninjago series - something they didn't do until 2017... Just goes to show that LEGO went all in on Chima, when really they could've focused elsewhere and in a theme that was more "universal" than just animals.
Around Christmas time me and my brother were asking for the lion chi temple and just that it seemed impossible that we would get it but when we did it was amazing. One of the best moments of my life.
Chima was the theme that introduced me to lego. My first ever lego set was a speedors set and I wished I could get more chima sets(but eventually I started liking star wars more so I never really bought another set) I played the mobile game for quiet a while and then watched the whole series
I got 2 speedors, but both didnt unclude extra builds (1 isnt even lego i think and 1 said it contained). I had also god an eris with 2x right hand, and also got the little vehicle of the wolves. Most of my lego chima was through magazines, and good chubk of them were given to me by my aunt.
I have so many chima sets! And i am also trying to get the big one from the person who didn't open it! I loved that theme! And would love to add it to my collection!
I only ever had one Chima set, it was the Chi Worriz buildable figure. He has since fallen apart and his remains became part of the body of Bud Light Beer, the mechanical menace of the Galactic Alliance.
Quite possibly my favorite Lego theme! I remember watching the show, and going onto the Lego forums to chat with other people about Chima. We used to speculate that the show contained hints of a relationship between the lion character Laval, and the eagle character Eris. I collected every single Chima set, and I still have them all in containers in my basement! It was such a shame to see this theme die!
Chima was the bomb 💣 and personally I find it more interesting than boring old ninjas, though if my pfp doesn't give it away I'm a little bias but I don't care.
Ninjago and Chima made up a lot of my formative childhood experiences. I love both of them so much to this day, and I remember how heartbroken I was when I saw Chima sets were no longer being made, and the show was no longer going to be produced. Oh well, I'll always have my sets and memories.

I I loved the idea of Chima and had most of the sets. This was the first Lego line that I tried to collect every set for, and if it weren’t for Chima I wouldn’t be as big of a Lego fan as I am today.
I sold the sets a while back though.
Same, I'm keeping all my chima sets though, I refuse to get rid of them. I liked Season 2 and 3 best.
Maybe it's a little weird, but as a kid I always mixed Chima with Thundercats.
I never really cared for either, so they just blended together in my mind and I'd pass by Chima stuff and think "Huh, Thundercats LEGO."
That's actually fairly accurate since the network brought in Chima as a cheaper alternative to the 2011 Thundercats.
Both shows have a lion prince protagonist with red hair, so it's an understandable mixup.
Literally thought the same thing
(Also “The Lion King”, “Madagascar”, “Robin Hood”, etc.)
you use every word but furry
So basically it made you a furry 🤨
It sounds like you’re a furry
This video brings back so many memories, I remember being in San Diego in 2013 and visiting legoland every month, I couldn’t express my joy when I bought these two foam swords representing this lion and crocodile... Good times
I remember liking chima a lot. I didn't get very many sets because overall it's not exactly the type of sets I'm into. I prefer castle, pirates and star wars. But I still thought chima was cool, and a nice change of pace, something different. My personal favorite tribes were the wolves and eagles.
The theme that brought me back into Lego
> Saw Lego Crocodiles, bought a few for my desk
> Loved them
> Got more, watched the show
> Fully invested
I now buy Lego regularly
i love the lego crocodiles and wolves too
i also wanna start a collection of ninjago snakes, i find them cute asf
I’d love to see some sort of remaster or anniversary sets for Chima since we’re near it’s 10 year anniversary.
We still have a bunch of Chima sets, even a board game, but the one kit I always liked but never bought was Gorzan’s(?) Gorilla Mech.
dude i was such a big fun of chima as a kid and have a decent collection , idk why it died out , my whole class collected these. chima was the most creative and inovative thing made at the time
I really liked the chima sets, they had pretty cool minifig molds and more cool printing
Chima holds a special place in my heart. I loved it, still do and I'm sad, that i don't have some sets that look amazing ❤️
My favorite seasons from the show were season 2 and 3, The Legend beasts were fun sets and I got all five and those sets got my interest in chima :)
I hope Chima comes back one day.
Unpopular opinion, but I personally prefer Chima over Ninjago. Getting animal-themed vehicles is certainly far more interesting than the dozens of generic, bland ninja vehicles which we still get year after year.
At least ninjago dont break after 2 seconds😂😂😂
@@bogoljubsimovic7329bro took it personally. Eat yo white bread and shut up
@@bogoljubsimovic7329you know that the Lego is the same right?
I think something that could've helped was more setpieces, as you said, there's only so many ways you can make a lion car.
That's something I've wondered a lot recently but it does feel like ever since Ninjago hit the scene Lego has been less and less interested in doing setpieces, which is a shame because they were always my favorite kind of set.
Ninjago and Chima were my fav back in the day
Most of LEGO's non-one-shot themes tend to have two release waves in a year, a winter/spring wave and a summer/fall wave. This applied to Chima too, so I'd say it had 5 waves rather than 3.
W/Sp 2013: Debt wave, introduced speedorz and the theme in general
Su/F 2013: 2nd wave, introduced gorillas, ultrabuilds
W/Sp 2014: 3rd wave, outlands arc, legend beasts, introduced rhinos bats spiders & scorpions
Su/F 2014: 4th wave, fire&ice arc, new speedorz design, 2nd ultrabuilds wave
W/Sp 2015: 5th wave, continuation/conclusion of fire&ice arc, tribe packs, introduction of bears
The legend of Chima sets were my childhood. I was a massive fan of the LEGO sets in 2013 and was angry at LEGO for discontinuing the theme😅 If I find a Chima set, I'll definitely buy it because it represents my childhood
Same lol
Ik bro chima was my childhood and it is still to this day my favorite lego theme.
chima is always going to be in our hearts
that lego speedorz mobile gameplay was a rush of brain melting nostalgia that I had no idea I had.
This gave me the idea to build a giant chima moc with all my old sets!
I grew up playing with chima sets and watching the show on tv. When the line got canceled i thought they were writing the script for the next season witch i thought it would be dinosaurs
Dude, this and Speed Champions are my two all-time favorite LEGO themes, and Chima just doesn't get enough love these days.
Also, the fact that every fire set transformed and every ice set had a detachable/hidden vehicle is such an awesome concept, and one that I loved at the time(though I wasn't able to get many of the sets at the time)
Both me an my friends LOVED Lego Chima and we didn't understand why it got discontinued.
I’m literally rebuilding all of my old chima sets, it is making me so nostalgic.
Sad to see how it ended up
smoothest ad transition ever
I never bought any Chima sets, but I watched the whole series some years back. I’d be glad to do it again. I loved it.
Quick question. How do we get down from here?
My younger cousin loved Chima. I grew up with and loved Bionicle..
RIP the nostalgia
i dont specifically remember watching the show or buying any chima sets but i keep seeing minifigures from it lying around and some remains of sets
I have 6 sets of Lego Chima, 3 speedorz, Worryz's Combat Lair, the spider vehicle and the croc tank, I loved Chima so much
That’s cool that of the two of those huge sets that were released one was opened and documented and the other was left sealed, that way someone got to enjoy the set and there’s still a sealed version of the set
My cousin loved Chima. I don't remember what sets he had, but he loved the lion character and he had a speedorz related to him.
I remember that my first ever Lego set was Cragger's boat. Since that I had most of the main sets of wave 1 and wave 2
I have A LOT of Chima sets and love every one of them, I really loved the theme back in the day. Good memories
I got the lion chi temple earlier this year on brick link and I got it new in box it’s a amazing chima set
i literally have had the flying phoenix temple and its still together after 7 years. also i gotta say your videos never get old.
The fact that Ninjago and Chima are in the same universe is awesome.
I loved chima. I watched the whole series, bought a couple sets, played with said sets which resulted in many of them breaking and I have the whole series on dvd
I especially liked that Gorilla mech. I recently deconstructed uncountable Chima sets to clear some space - incredibly painful experience
I had a lot of Chima sets as a kid. Like, a lot. We had the lion temple, croc hideout, several of the speedorz, and a lot of vehicles. Always wondered what happened to it.
I had the Eris Interceptor and the Eglor bike... So many memories I also had watching the cartoon...
I had so many sets. Got all the biggest ones every year
Chima was a cool line of sets, and brought forth some of the coolest LEGO designs I've ever seen; the only problem I ever saw was that it was, well, animals.
My first ever lego set was a speedors set and I wished I could get more chima sets(but eventually I started liking star wars more so I never really bought another set)
I played the mobile game for quiet a while and then watched the whole series
I got 2 speedors, but both didnt unclude extra builds (1 isnt even lego i think and 1 said it contained). I had also god an eris with 2x right hand, and also got the little vehicle of the wolves. Most of my lego chima was through magazines, and good chubk of them were given to me by my aunt.
i adored lego chima, i had a lot of sets, and my whole attic was filled with sets.
i would love to see it come back, but im not counting on it
I have a lot of Chima sets but the one I am the most happy with is the lion temple. It’s so cool!!
Chima was my absolute favorite lego theme as a kid! I loved the lion and the polar bear figures and would have them fight each other all the time!
Chima was the bomb 💣 and personally I find it more interesting than boring old ninjas, though if my pfp doesn't give it away I'm a little bias but I don't care.
I actually never bought a Chima set but I did have this Chima book when I was like, four or five years old!
Characters from lego Chima also appeared once in Ninjago show
I still have all my 2014 Chima Ultrabuild sets. I love those.
Alright, time to find the 2013 ones.
Ninjago and Chima made up a lot of my formative childhood experiences. I love both of them so much to this day, and I remember how heartbroken I was when I saw Chima sets were no longer being made, and the show was no longer going to be produced. Oh well, I'll always have my sets and memories.
