@@mybiggrin thanks for your response Mr Briggins , may I kindly ask you please to elaborate? Do you mean this one doesn't sound credible either? or the previous ones already did? Thanks in advance Mr Briggins.
Great to see this very fruitful collaboration take shape! Very cleverly constructed racks too, and a great walkthrough. Looking forward to exploring in more depth. MPE is truly the next frontier.
This is fantastic! Just thinking about those three packs would cost as regular Spitfire offerings, it seems to me that covers the cost of the Live 11 upgrade all on their own! :)
I heard about Spitfire Audio a few months ago. The Ableton upgrade special and my recent order for BBC SO, however, allowed me to try your instrument sample packs. They sound fantastic! Thank you for providing videos that walk through your products. Many of us are building our wish lists.
Is it possible that you can raise the volume on your uploads? I have to turn the volume up to hear you, then when the next item starts, it's volume nearly blows my ears off, would be nice if you could. 🎈👍
Am completely blown away by the packs! Thank you for a great video, very helpful to get started. Btw, question: what is the MPE controller being used in the video?
@@weareborg That's exactly right Borg. You can create your own custom layout with the Morph, or you can copy one of the many that people have shared on our forums.
Are you guys going to make your other libraries mpe compatible too? This is a nice bunch of sounds all mapped out and setup for free for someone who has suite.
@@nickthane ikr, everytime I use my linnstrument the expression stutters around to different values being received from my various fingers. To be able to fully express into the performance will add new depth previously difficult to bring about spontaneously. Hope they add this for BBCo and the AR1.
Is the upright piano ever going to be released for universal consumption? I’ve got the live 11 trial at the moment - not sure if I’m going to buy it at the end (I’m a logic guy really), but the upright piano is absolutely fantastic.
Can we use spitfire audio on Ableton 10 as well ?? I do not find any information about that. I got some sample pack that I wish to use with Ableton but just can't open them in the DAW.
I have extreme low volume/output with the Spitfire Brass Pack compared to Abletons own Sounds, when playing (hard) on my Midikeyboard, this is disapointing, also velocity doesn't work by default. Prelistening (click on sound in Browser) is much (3-4 times) louder
I was wondering the same, I think it might be a Sensel Morph. That's the only MPE thing I could find that looked similar what he was playing at the end.
Maybe it's somewhere in the comments but could someone kindly tell me what MPE device is that with the squares? Looks like an entry level launchpad? @09:29
@@kontikonsumi2028 If you want a mic just for vocals, a SM58 will do (listen to Rumer "Aretha", the demo vocals were used in the production iirc). Sure SM7b is a fine mic for both purposes (singing, voice-over) and 170 bucks cheaper than a RE20, it is less bulky too. Michael Jackson used it on the album "Thriller". There is no gold standard in choosing vocal mics apart from a vintage Neumann U47 (~ 20K € if you find one) or U67 reissue which sets you back around 6K €. Just use whatever suits you best, and that could be a cheap Chinese mic. The preamp is quite important too. The ones in cheap audio interfaces sound rarely convincing to my ears, imho. @@kontikonsumi2028 I'm 2 years late, but the RE20 is a great vocal mic! It's used by a lot of people. It's got a distinctly different sound than the 7B, though. It's not a "traditional" vocal mic (as in attempting to sound as much like the u47, u67, u87 as possible) but it has its merits. My recommendation is to go listen to people using the RE20. I have seen it mostly used by people with harsher, shriller voices for singing. This makes a lot of sense when looking at the response curve. I also personally find the proximity effect on the RE20 is a much nicer tone, but that is my ears, and it really depends on the voice. I find it smoother than the SM7B. Anyways, this is probably too late but maybe someone will stumble on this thread as I did. As far as preamps go, get something transparent and use the saturator in Ableton for tone. On a budget, you don't need tone gear. Just get a scarlet and you'll be okay. Some of the biggest records are recorded on way worse preamps. The creativity will sell the music (and the marketing, lol), not the pre amp.
A nice sounding piano. If only the left hand octaves were usable - from B1 downwards, they are very much out of tune with the G-G1 and lower intervals completely off.
In one way a nice gesture, especially suited for 11, but at the same time you exclude the brand Spitfire for those that still are on 10 or 9. The labels 'unavailable', 'exclusively' easily exclude your brand from the majority of users, the ones NOT spending a few hundred quid each month. Similarly, since I got an Ableton version for 64 bit only, yes, very PRO, not being a pro, a lot of the fun has gone. I use LMMS a lot of the times for fun stuff. Be careful not to alienate a large part of your (potential) user base, they are tomorrows customers. You may become a not-for-us brand. I also get hesitant. I recently bought 10, but within a few months it becomes useless for things like this. I think within a year after purchase upgrades should be free, not 200 bucks. Same reason I won't buy Arturia again. Within months you're outdated.

The downside to this approach is you have to wait and don't get the new toys when everyone else does. At the end of the day, you cannot be mad at progress. The exclusivity tag is a way to get you to upgrade. If you can, great. If you can't, wait for a sale.
Finally some love for Ableton!

What overlay is that?
Do you or @spitfire know where we can get that overlay or at least a description of it?

Anyone know how to change between long and short articulations? (This sort of thing usually done by keyswitch but I can't see anything here...)

Can I modulate like in this video without a midi ?

how to have longer release on long in one string quartet?
Sounds really good. I own Ableton Suite but is there a similar sounding Spitfire piano library that can be used in other DAWs?
You outdid yourselves with that Upright. My only complaint is that it's resource hungry :(
A more intimate upright that would work in other DAWs would be appreciated.
Is this upright available outside of ableton?
Was hoping it would be Homay showing this.
Does anyone else have a problem with CPU overloading while using these Packs?
Anyone know what kind of pad he's using around the 10 minute mark?

will the upright piano come pre-installed with ableton live 11 or do I have to buy it /install it manually? thanks!
