Josh Brolin was extremely well cast as Agent K. He did an excellent job of portraying the much younger agent than anyone else could possibly have done.
Whoever came up with that K and J tie in from the third act that K has been J's father figure since the beginning is my screenwriting hero. Because they had no idea after the first or second films they were doing this either and the twist was never planned. From my research they didn't have it planned for this movie or the original shooting script. But halfway through filming, they shut production down at great expense, to rewrite the third act which was the K and J connection all along climax. In a first for Hollywood, nobody has taken credit for where the idea came from or who had the light bulb moment. But, its the ultimate third film wrap up to a trilogy with a whopper of a reveal at the end of all time and nobody ever talks about it.
IMO, this is the best movie of the franchise. The second movie felt like it never really had a reason for the story to exist, but this one the story feels essential.
I personally love men in black 3, I love how it comes full circle with J's dad in the end. And the soundtrack with Empire State of mind, an absolute Banger of a song. I personally just saw it on video, rented it on Blu Ray I think and absolutely loved it. The time travel aspect I also thought was done really really well.
Boris the Animal is such a great villain, and Griffin might be my favorite side character in the whole franchise (yes, even above Frank the Pug, but not by much). The twist of Andy Warhol being an undercover MIB agent rather than an alien was also pretty hilarious and the time jump being a literal jump was creative, but I so wish we'd seen more of Emma Thompson.
34:55 - In the initial timeline, he didn't have the knowledge. Then, from the moment he met little J and put the pieces together he had it. So in the diner at the end, he ALREADY knew it 'cause it was his (new) past. Get it?
So if I took the ending right Agent K has been watching over J his whole life making sure he's ok like a father and that's why he wanted him to join MIB and was Vouching for him in the first movie ? He couldn't have been there physically because J didn't remember anything about him. but he could've look at him like he was looking at his wife on the computer in the first movie. And made sure they didn't need money.
I think that when Griffin touched J's dad he showed him how the Earth will be saved and he showed him that J is his son. The way J's father looks at J when they are in Florida is the look of a proud father.
When this first came out, I was worried that it may be getting old and they're going to be beating a dead alien. So glad it was still had that same formula of the first two but yet was able to expand on it. When it comes to MIB, I always look in the credits for Rick Baker doing the make-up and Bo Welch doing the production design. Now there is "MIB: International" with Chris Hemsworth and Tess Thompson, you be the judge of it.
I love this movie for the time travel element. They did it really well. The villain was played by Jemaine Clement. He is great in the film Gentlemen Broncos. I highly recommend watching.
The first two were so fun. This one has a real story behind it and it’s one of my top movies ever. Thanks Shanelle. You’re the first reactor to do this gem.
Blob fish don't really look like that in their normal habitat, the high-pressure depths of the ocean. But bringing them up to surface pressure is devastating to their body tissues, casing it to bloat and distort.
I always love when a sequel or TV episode changes how you look at what previously occurred, so I choose to believe that K knew about J's dad all along. It gives the first film a different flavor.
Maybe that's why The Colonel said "I wish I could" when K asked "we could use a man like you", because not only Griff showed him who's J (his own son) and K, but also his death.
One of my favorite franchises, including International! The time travel makes sense cause in the comics, Agent K and J were going up against zombies, ghosts, demons, etc. Josh Brolin killed this role! Great vid and stay blessed! 🙌🏽🙏🏽❤️
MIB3 is IMO the best one in the series all because of the moment at the end with the twist. That actually made my jaw drop in theaters. I love when movies go back to the beginning to subvert the past and everything we knew.
THIS is actually my favourite MIB film. Josh Brolin killed as as a younger K, and the way this story was written, to come all the way full circle to the original... Genius. Thanks for reacting to it.
Loved this movie when it came out. Such a fun way to revisit the franchise. I really don't understand why people say MiB: International is bad. I thought it was really fun as well.
Shanelle, I thought the same thing with Brolin’s portrayal. He was sooo good, I wondered if they cgi aged TLJ. So it was fun watching you struggle with who he was, because I had to look it up too. I really like this one as well, above #2. Btw, I was noticing how great your sound mix is. Seems like you are using compression and EQ on your voice. Nice job to whomever’s responsible.
Where was I when I first watched this? On the sofa in front of the TV. Like so many others, I watched it on cable. Not much to say other than I had pretty much the same reactions as you, sans the obvious questions ("Is that the Chrysler building?" SERIOUSLY Shanelle?) So glad you finally got to this one! 😊 Also: love how your nails match the sweatshirt, sad you fazed out the hair dye. It look really good on you, really!
I'd always say the first was so great, because so groundbreaking and cool. But this one is my favorite of the three. The time travel aspect, Josh Brolin just killing it, and that emotional ending brings me to tears every time.
You probably know that there was also another movie called Men in Black: International. It had basically a different cast, and was quite different from the trilogy. If nobody else has suggested it, I recommend that you watch it it your free time. No need to make a reaction video. I feel the movie is interesting enough to warrant at least a viewing.
The ending of that movie is so much more emotional than you'd expected from an MIB movie. It hits me right in the feels. And Josh Brolin was fantastic.
God I love this movie. From Emma Thompson and Alice Eve as O, to Josh Brolin as younger K. To the emotional scenes between J and K. To that end. It's all amazing
I think most people would agree that this is better than the second one. I love that it gave us more background on both characters and especially the whole part with J's father.
I personally feel this one is better than the 2nd one as well, and was pleasantly surprised when I finally got around to watching it. I saw the first two in the theaters but i skipped this one till either I streamed it or rented it on disc to watch, i cant recall. I thought Brolin was genius at imitating Tommy Lee Jones. At TLJ age it really wasn't possible to really have a convincing action story like the other movies so it was a great plot device to get around that. By the way got to give love to Alice Eve for being the past version of Agent O.
I am here from your Deadpool 2 reaction that I seen and absolutely loved it and totally felt your reaction. It’s about how I would’ve reacted. I also love this movie and its hard to believe but not many people react to MIB 3. just wanted to say hi and let you know you got a new subscriber right now 🎉❤😊
This one was always cool to me, because it mentions my hometown of Chicopee, MA in dialogue and I have never heard it in anything else. It was also just a lot better than the second one.
Ha, beat UA-cam to the punch! Hey Shanelle. What's up? I see you finally got to this one. Took 'ya long enough! No matter, you ticked off another one off your list and we get another shanaction. Win-win in my book. 😁
Calling this a loose end is so wrong as its THE best movie in the series... by far. Even without the end twist it still edges out th first movie, not by a huge maring but, it still wins. But with the end twist, that *_perfect_* way of binding it all togeather, MIB3 is easily the best in the series. Its on of the best sci-fi comedies ever made imo.
23:14 - True. That's why I keep telling you to not beat yourself up for "stalling" before filming or any other task. If you're not in the zone just distract yourself for a moment. It's the way of the artist. 😊
Side note: the pug that played frankie in the first two films passed away, hince why frankie wasn't in this one. Also, the pug picture hanging up in Jay's apartment is meant to be frankie and a little tribute.
I like how this one changes the other movies, especially the first one when Kay recruits Jay. Rewatch the first one with this third one in mind and you’ll see what I mean
I saw this in the theaters back in 2012. Have always had a soft spot for it, largely because of Josh Brolin as young Agent K. Still one of the best casting decisions in film history as far as I’m concerned. Unfortunately I don’t remember if it was 3D or not, but it wouldn’t surprise me given the year it released.
Yes I did watch it in 2012, I watched it at the cinema twice. Once with a friend and Once with a girl, and yes I teared up both times when I watched the scene on the beach when it was revealed who the Colonel was. I have watched MIB III 7 or 8 time since and have enjoyed it every time. 👍👍👍👍👍
Where was I in 2012 when this came out? The theatre. I enjoyed it, and was very impressed by Brolin, but this was the year of the first Avengers, which overshadowed everything.
Nothing can touch the first classic. But this is definitely better than 2. At first, it was fun, but just okay. But, it has gotten better with repeated viewings. The 3D was really fun, too, and I have the 3D blu-ray.
to celebrate finally moving back out on my own in 2012, I went to the mall and a tripple feature: Men in Black 3, The Avengers and Prometheus. I Also had my favorite mall pizza for lunch it was an unforgettable day.

Josh Brolin absolutely stole the show!
That he did!!
It was inevitable
He was ...... Inevitable.......
He sure did
Josh Brolin was extremely well cast as Agent K. He did an excellent job of portraying the much younger agent than anyone else could possibly have done.
This was the last good Will Smith movie
The "my daddy is a hero" scene gets me just as much as Forrest's "is he like me or"....
ugh, that scene in forrest gump gets me EVERY time
Josh Brolins voice crack when talking to little J, gets me everytime! Great performance from Mr. Brolin
Same

I agree! I like this one so much
Overall didn't love it but... the ending is possibly the best of any movie ending ever. For sure top 5. Sad the rest of the movie was only okay.
I personally love men in black 3, I love how it comes full circle with J's dad in the end.

I love how this movie comes full circle and explains why K was so adamant and eager to get J into the MIB....
This was a surprisingly good third movie, especially for coming out 10 years after the 2nd one. The ending gets to me every time!
I think that when Griffin touched J's dad he showed him how the Earth will be saved and he showed him that J is his son. The way J's father looks at J when they are in Florida is the look of a proud father.
Such a wholesome moment
Josh Brolin channeled his inner Tommy Lee Jones. This was a very interesting wrap up to the series.
Tommy Lee Jones Jr

This is one of those that I have been waiting for. And you are absolutely correct, Shanelle. It is really fun to watch movies with you!!!
yay i'm sorry i took so long to get to it!!
MIB 3 was released in both 3D and standard formats in theatres. It was filmed with digital 3D cameras
“James, if you look right here, I will tell you the only thing you will ever need to know. Your daddy is a *hero* “

This film was in 3D and for me it was one of the BEST 3D experiences in the theater
The casting of Young K is one of the best ever. Young K was brilliant.
The first two were so fun. This one has a real story behind it and it’s one of my top movies ever. Thanks Shanelle. You’re the first reactor to do this gem.

That's horrifying, poor things!

Of all the alien things Shanelle can get gross of, the blobfish is an actual fish...

This is the best MIB movie out of the three, and it's not even close.

No way she never recognised Josh!
I definitely wasn't yelling "It's freaking Josh Brolin!" at my computer screen. Didn't happen.
This is by far my favorite of the three. It took me a few times watching it to figure out that what was shown to J's father was that J was his son.
