Always loved this story. And Jordan Peele's "Nope," which is also fantastic, feels like a modern successor.

Hey Tony, just want to say thanks - Also want to mention , I have never read any complaints on your readings, we always feel like the negative out-ways the positive when it comes to critique - but it looks to me that you have an overwhelming positive fanbase. Please be buffered by that if you have any "complaints".... We are all so grateful for your generous effort - it is day-brake here of an Australian cold winter day The magpies, that here, sing a delightful warbling song, are finding me awake & battling punishing ruminations from PTSD. Your readings consistently sooth the quiet torturous state. But even on good days I am just so grateful for your efforts here. I know I'm not the only one, we are multiplying. Absorb the love & gratitude I see in all these comments Tony :)

Regarding who might be interested in engines: Career day in 6th grade, I (f, now 64) went to the engine repair workshop because I was planning to take after my uncle and be a mechanic. The instructor kicked me out and told me to go to the home-ec or nursing workshop instead. I think for many women, it's not a lack of interest but a lack of support for their interest.
Aside from that, excellent reading and commentary as always. Thanks so much!

Beside "The Lost World," this is my favorite non-Holmes/Watson story by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Your reading was amazing! Many thanks, Tony Walker.

Lovved your ramble on this one .. as an expat living in Thailand there are so many things I don't miss! I would like to come back at some point and do some of the long distance walks, but all the other stuff .. no thanks! Anyway, thanks for this, as usual!

Thank you for the fantastic story. I haven't read any Conan Doyle, only watched various moves and series. Also thank you for the chat. You revived a memory I have of a story my mom told of my very English Great Gran. She wasn't going to put up with that cast just because her leg was broken. She told her son, take it off or I will! Now that is terror...!

Truly horrifying. The beauty, force of unknown nature. A dreadful way to die... . Thank you, Tony. Thought provoking.

Thank God/dess I check your channel regularly to see if I have missed anything! I spend most of my Sundays on here! Arthur C Doyal is fascinating to me because he had similar beliefs to me and just because of a few frauds shouldn’t make the whole belief in something other than that which our physical eyes can see, make us come across as gullible or foolish! And the strange thing is that a lot of people that judged him for his beliefs, believe wholeheartedly in a book that wasn’t even started while any of the people in it were still alive! (The gospel of Thomas and the Dead Sea scrolls were an exception and the church tried its best to suppress them like all that other secret artefact’s hidden in the Vatican according to whistle blowers) Written by men and vandalised by the council of Nicaea! Female names discarded and the wife of Jesus who was most likely the wisest and most gifted spiritually of the disciples, was made into a demon possessed whore by the church!
But forgive me, this is not the place to get into that! My point is that if we all would live and let live, life would be a lot easier for all of us! Great job and fab writer so thank you so much for finding this 💎 gem!

This story explains the mystery of missing ✈ airplanes. And the phenomenon of raw meat 🍖 falling from the skies. Heretofore thought to be venison or slaughtered cattle strewn through the atmosphere by tornadoes destroying a slaughterhouse. Think again I say !!!
