This is my wifes account but i had to chime in about frog giggin and old out board motors.....I used to do the same shennanagans with my buddies in mid michigan lake i grew up on and i can relate big time to everything he said about the crazy stuff we did back in the late 70s. Those were truely the good old days. Great story.
OMG, That was one of the best bigfoot stories i have ever heard. Sounds like Red may have pooped his pants. lol Hey everybody, show some love and mash that thumbs up.
Agree it was well written. I could just taste the hush puppies and feel that sticky humidity as I remembered the night my brother and his buddy brought back a burlap bag full of frogs after a night of gigging and beer! Thinking they would scare me, they dumped the huge frogs out in the basement where I was watching Johnny Carson! I loved it as we chased them all down to round them up! I thought we would die laughing! Those were the days...mid 70s when fun was still fairly clean! Thanks again! 🌿🌻🌿❤️❤️❤️
OMG, this story had me LMAO! Great story telling! Reminds me of the great adventures of my brothers! We, too, suffered through a cantankerous Evinrude outboard motor on a 16 foot aluminum v-bottom fishing boat (Feathercraft?). Once when feeling grown and independent, we took the boat up to our favorite fishing spot. When we were ready to leave, the motor would not crank. My brother twisted the throttle to max and stood up to pull the crank cord. The motor roared to life, was apparently still in forward gear, and the torque turned the motor all the way to the left. The boat neatly stood up and right, dumping my brother out into the water. I was in the front and took every bit of the skin off my shins as I scrambled to get to the motor to keep the boat from running over him. From then on, he made me hold the tiller handle while he pulled the crank cord! Or when my oldest brother and cousin were frog hunting and a water snake fell into the boat from a tree on the bank. In the chaos, the boat got tipped, both lost their wallets, and my grandfather's shotgun wound up on the bottom of the pond. He made them go back and get it. Glad I was not there for that! P.S. The Arkansas Sasquatch sound effect reminds me of the Bobby Bare song "Marie Laveau"! LOL. And I don't blame Red for having to go change his underwear! Looking forward to your next great post!
I still like your Civil War story the best. Something about the heartwarming plot, your accent combined with the southern setting, the tinge of bluegrass music at the beginning and end, would make a great movie for sure. You ever thought about coming up to the Bigfoot Conference we have here in Ohio every year in Lore City?? You’re starting to accrue a good collection of these stories and would be an ideal guest speaker.
Man I love this one, you need a multiple like button. My wife and i just got done listening to your 6 story marathon. She had asked if bigfoot is real why haven't anyone got a good picture of one, I then paused your video and put on the Mississippi skunk ape video. I believe she is hooked. She loves the way you tell your stories, she moved down here to Louisiana from Newark N.J. about 5 yrs ago So the way we talk still amuses her.
Hehehe... When I moved from West TX to Ft Worth, I met a couple from NJ. They'd been there long enough to lose *most* of their accents, but it was funny when it was clear. Also, LA accents are nowhere near as amusing as MS accents. Met a guy at Barksdale from Batesville, MS years earlier...oh, man, that was amusing for a bunch of Texans.
What a comically great story hoss, but I think we got kinda gypped outta the very ending once you could no longer hold back the hilarity!? lol Thanks Cam
Yes! Cam’s unquenchable laughter is one of the best parts of some of his videos especially when he can’t stop laughing. He has a wonderful amazing laugh!😂
I realize this is 2 years old but it's the time I've seen it. This is the best bigfoot story you have ever told as far as I'm concerned! It reminded me so much of the stories the guy (McManus?) used to write for the back page of Field & Stream. I laughed so hard all the way through it! Love all your stories but this one is the topper!
Just found this one and boy howdy, what a great story! The manly art of boat motor management and damp terror! A thumping good yarn! Well written and well told, thank you DC🌱
What an awesome story.. and you did a great job telling it. I needed something to make me laugh. I felt like I was in the boat with them. Without the smell. LOL
Your so funny!! That right there was scary! Brought back lots of memories when me and my cousin went fishing we must of had that same motor I swear. The world can turn dangerous in a beat of yer heart . Also... I have never heard such good bluegrass kinda music. It is most excellent, thank you!
The starting method for motor, in a bullwhip fashion. As I laugh with tears, sweet memories. Born and raised Texan I was in a tree stand before I could ride a bicycle. On quite a number of deer leases we hunted, there where places that no one would hunt. Because of something down there ,some kind a booger or something. I had no idea what a booger was, so I wrapped all the nightmares I could into one. Today it makes sense , my father had no fear because they had never been aggressive. Several Boone and Crockett deer were taken in those places, it was a given we would hunt were no one else would. With the booger’s.. Great Job brother I appreciate your time and effort. Well Done
What a great story!! This is the second time I have been here on this fabulous story. Of course, it had reminded me of my youth when my sister and I dealt with one of those boats, trying to start it and with a boat as he described. We had such fun on Lake Burton in north Ga, I don't know why we were allowed to take off in that boat. Only thing, no Sasquach, but what a wonderful time in our lives, had I not listened to this story I would not be reminded of such times. What a writer! I'm sure Cam was instrumental in added his part, whatever, it was a super good story! Thanks for sharing!
Fantastic story, exceptionally well written and well narrated ... a pleasure to listen to! This account is captivating, with a kind of Huckleberry Finn quality to it. Love it.
this is only 30 miles south of me. I've never saw a bigfoot but I have heard, a bigfoot scream. I live way back in the woods, there's nothing behind my house for ten miles. just lake bottoms, flooded timber and fields. one particular night, I was upset about something, I don't recall now what and it's not important. it was between 1 and 3a.m, I walked outside and yelled at the top of my lungs. About 5-10 seconds later I heard the loudest, most terrifying high pitched scream I've ever heard. I know the wilderness well, I have always spent as much time as possible there. that being said, I know all the animal sounds. I've heard plenty of screech owls while coon hunting, it wasn't that. I've had a mountain lion to scream at me and stalk me through the woods while hunting as well. it was neither of those animals, im certain. it couldn't have been a person because the yell was much louder and more shrill than my yell. two or three times louder. I just came to the point in the story where the narrator described the yell, it gave me the chills lol. that's exactly what I heard. I also found a giant pile of scat that looked similar to human scat, but much bigger. I've never took the time to try and find them. I know they're here. but I am seriously considering going out searching/hunting for one. I want to know with absolute certainty. this happened around 2010 in Lee county. the scat, I found in the winter of 2016.
When you hunt a lot as I do and spend a lot of time out in the outdoors , you come accustomed to the noises but you know straight away when somethings different or wrong , it’s called a six sense the animals seem to tell or alert you to somethings not as it should be , be careful best regards Steve
thesheepman220 you are absolutely correct. the wildlife and your senses let you know when something is off. thank you for your concern, I am always careful. I do not enter the woods without a rifle and handgun, as well as extra ammo. Even if im hunting small game, I carry a large caliber handgun. you never know what is going to happen and id much rather carry around a few extra pounds, than be in a hairy situation, without adequate protection. same to you Steve.
Hi. I was wondering if you had thought of making a "gifting" tree stump for your Sasquatch. Personally, with all the people who go disappearing off the face of the earth in national parks and federal lands, I wouldn't advise going too far into the bush alone, knowing as you do that Bigfoot is alive and well in HIS woods! While I'm not suggesting that you live in a reserve, I AM suggesting that it would be safer if you went with someone OR developed a friendship with your neighbour. They like sweet things and crunchy apples, so I've read, so you'd be less likely to run into danger. I'm Australian and although we have Yowies in the bush where I live, they don't tend to be too friendly. Have a nice day!
Madeline Sartori great tip. feeding will most definitely be something I do. agreed, there could be dangers, but I have thought very long and hard about the risk vs reward and im ok with the potential risk. not that I want to be reckless or endanger myself in particular. I really want to see one face to face. I do have some friends that will be tagging along sometimes, but mostly I'll be alone. a seasoned woodsman is typically much quieter moving alone as well. going deep into the woods alone isn't a concern of mine, I have spent years in the woods throughout my life and im honestly much more nervous in a crowded city than deep in the woods, being the only human for miles. other than the mountain lion encounter I had, I also had an encounter with a pack of wolves that wanted a deer I killed in North Arkansas; they didn't get it lol. please nobody bother telling me we don't have wolves or mountain lions in Arkansas; we do. most times my hunting is on private land, but I do traffic game reserves or WMAs (wildlife management areas) infrequently. I NEVER go unarmed though and usually I have a large caliber rifle, large caliber handgun as well as fixed blade Gerber mark 2 that you can shave with. im aware all this doesn't mean something bad won't happen to me. just hedging my bets as best as I can. anyway, thank you for the tip and the concern. take care and have a good day.
I just heard about this UA-cam video today. We laid to rest the father of the author of our frog hunting/Sasquatch venture. This is Ready Red and this story is a true story but with a little humor also mostly directed at me, lol! I’m a true jokester so it’s all good. Great memories from our many, many ventures in Arkansas childhood hunting and fishing. That was one helluva night on Mud Lake! Glad to see so many have enjoyed this story.❤ PS I didn’t have a pants full of pie that night but I did wear many a welp from the old outboard. Greatly written by my brother from another mother and appreciated! Great narration also. I tip my hat to you sir
This has to be the best one yet....The build up is brilliant..then the scary bit...I can almost picture the greasy mechanic with his tobacco stained forearm....Cracking story...
Thanks for the laugh!! I could just picture them boys trying their best to get that boat going. I know they were terrified, but I couldn't help but laugh.
Lol. That was fun. I would often get tickled like you did at the end while reading "Patrick McManus" short stories from Field & Stream. R.I.P. Patrick McManus. Oh, and my favorite McManus story? "Pigs"
OMG, what a great story. One of the funniest stories I ever heard. I too, remember those days of hunting bullfrogs and jack rabbits on the farmland near my home. Great times.
Don’t you love these Southern boys! Intrepid! Not even swarms of mosquitoes damped or thwart their bravado! Gotta love’em!! Thanks so much, Cam. Know it’s been said so often but we really do love listening to you. I’m still cleaning and listening, think l have gone thru all your stories at least 4 times...glad lm retired n can do that! Happy trails, 😀👍☕️
Yes, that was a great story, you were right there with those boys trying to escape the horror of the BF. It reminded me of these days of my youth when my sister and I took our daddy's boat out on lake Burton, north Ga. I was about 13 or 14 then, probably around 1963/1964 we had a good time in that little boat which sounded very much like the boat in this story. It was a good time in our lives. I feel lucky that we had that opportunity. It was a time when there were not so many people on that lake, now there are huge million dollar houses, and so many boats and jet ski's. Great narration of the story!
Love the way this story was written and love the way you told it! Especially the end when you got so tickled. I grinned all the way through. Have to commend you on your great choice of music, always.
Best story EVER! I really enjoyed the writers style, as well as the story tellers! If he were to write a book, I would be thrilled to read it! Or, better yet, have Cam read it to me! Thanx for sharing 😅!
I just watched this one again. I absolutely love this story! I know you love it too, Cam. You did some really great sound effects, especially the Sasquatch screams 😂 Poor Red, having to change his drawers.
Love the video footage in this one, reminds me of Reelfoot Lake. Inspires me to drive over there and sketch some Cypress Knees, the Pier, and a duck or 2. I'm going to do a series of Reelfoot Lake, Oil on Canvas, with these sketches + memories of the Lake from my 1960's childhood and extended family gatherings. Gibson, Obion, and Lake Counties gathered to demonstrate their skills with various dishes of Southern Delights + grilled chicken and beef. My late Aunt remains 1st place, I understand that my Grandmother was before her. I'm pleased some of their gifts and skills made their way into my DNA. I appreciate feeding folks who enjoy good food. ... ✨
Great story, man. I'm working here in an office in the middle of the city, but in my mind I can see that dark lake and hear the night sounds. Hair raised up on the back of my neck for a minute there! Thanks!
For some reason I thought when you first started talking about the smell I already thought Red had pooped his pants LOL That was really good though. I love all your videos and this one was hilarious I could just picture it. You are an excellent storyteller. Thank you
What a great story. And story teller. I saved this to my favorites so I can share it with my hubby. Even though he thinks bigfoot is a crock, I know he will enjoy this well written tale of the outdoors.
I am laughing out loud while driving. Had to pull over to make a comment. The first writer is incredible! Great descriptive writing, with humor. As funny as an old "Dean Martin roast!"
Cam this is the best danged show on UA-cam. Your gift for narration can't be taught. No amount of voice coaching can turn a regular person into a storyteller of your caliber. Keep up the great work and I hope you get your own show.
This is the funniest encounter yet. Poor Red. Getting whacked by the engine rope and pooping his pants. Thanks to whoever sent this in. Good night all and watch out for sasquatch. Thanks Cam for reading this story. I needed a good laugh.😊
Oh my days! That's such a great story! Thank you for being a brilliant story teller!!

Great story. Had me sitting in the boat with them !
That was fantastic. Well written, suspenseful, and funny as all get out. Thanks so much for sharing.
Thanks Darrly. I really liked this one.
The guy who wrote the story is one of my hunting buddies. He's a heck of a great guy.
Omg he wrote so wellllll. I was dying lol. Great story regarding his experience!!!!!!!!
Great writer! I love southern writers and storytellers, the best.
So he wrote it? Is it not real?
@@BODYBAGxPAT he says it is
What a fantastic storyteller/ writer! Awesome.
I am so happy you enjoy the videos Mary. Thank you so much
Hi there Cam. Awesome on the edge of the seat story. Thank you.
The ending was lol where you were laughing at the story..... I enjoy your stories
Reminded me of the “Boggy Creek” stories, though probably the other side of Arkansas from Fouke.
Great tale...i can almost put myself there. I don't frog gig but i hear they are delicous.
Love the way this story was written and love the way you told it! Especially the end when you got so tickled. I grinned all the way through. Have to commend you on your great choice of music, always.
What a fun story to listen to. You nailed it again Cam, thanks 😊
Best story EVER! I really enjoyed the writers style, as well as the story tellers! If he were to write a book, I would be thrilled to read it! Or, better yet, have Cam read it to me! Thanx for sharing 😅!
Good job my friend. It's nice to see someone who gives an unbiased view on what he reads. You rock keep up the outstanding work.
Love your laugh - - - it's contagious and I'm not sure what you laughed at.
I really enjoy the bloopers, Cam! Thanks for all you do!
Great story and great job telling it. The outtakes was a nice touch.
I just watched this one again. I absolutely love this story! I know you love it too, Cam. You did some really great sound effects, especially the Sasquatch screams 😂 Poor Red, having to change his drawers.
Haha...thanks
This guy comes up with the Best Music I've never heard before. THANKS Cam.
Love this one! Great story!
the description of the engine starting really made me smile in fact the whole story was so well written and entertaining
I'm just like a trained dog getting a treat when one of your stories turns up !!! I just can't wait!!!!!
LOL...Thank you !
I always loved Froggin! Spotlight, boots, sack and gig, we was frog giggen hounds! LOL great times!!

Great story, man. I'm working here in an office in the middle of the city, but in my mind I can see that dark lake and hear the night sounds. Hair raised up on the back of my neck for a minute there! Thanks!
..this is no common Bigfoot... IT'S AN ARKANSAS SASQUATCH!!! Awesome story, thanks Dixie!
LOL...wasn't that great. The man who wrote this story is awesome.
@@DixieCryptid they're all good, but this is one of the best!
@@gene4231 this is my favorite so far. I couldn't wait to get it online. I'm glad you liked it too.
Damp terror is the worst kind!
For some reason I thought when you first started talking about the smell I already thought Red had pooped his pants LOL
That was really good though.
I loved it when I saw it. I couldn't wait to contact the writer and so glad he gave me permission to use it.
I am laughing out loud while driving. Had to pull over to make a comment. The first writer is incredible! Great descriptive writing, with humor. As funny as an old "Dean Martin roast!"
Loved that, especially poor Ready Red's clothing problems. lol
Cam this is the best danged show on UA-cam. Your gift for narration can't be taught. No amount of voice coaching can turn a regular person into a storyteller of your caliber. Keep up the great work and I hope you get your own show.
Thank you Jess. What a nice thing to say. I am glad you like the stories.
It's the South in the Mouth that sells it.
This if exactly what I needed today. Thank you and the writer of this story.
Yep that’s that small alright!! Ba ha ha!! This was one of the best and funniest ones yet!! Thanks Cam!!
I meant smell!!
Excellent story sir!!!!!

Cam- that story is so funny it's my favorite
This story is hilarious! I have listened to it 2 nights in a row now.
This is the funniest encounter yet. Poor Red. Getting whacked by the engine rope and pooping his pants. Thanks to whoever sent this in. Good night all and watch out for sasquatch. Thanks Cam for reading this story. I needed a good laugh.😊
😂😂😂 Love ❤️ the Bloopers, Cam.
Thanks again D.C, enjoyed the story!! Typical boys !!
