Hi Curtis. Great video mate...as always. Where are your riding at 1min 30 into the video. Want to take my KTM 790 up there. I'm still learning but that trail looks good. Cheers, Mike.
I rode a similar wet single trail this weekend. The stock tyres are extremely slippery when it’s wet, and the jerky throttle on lower gears when I’m going on and off on technical terrains is annoying. I’d blip with the clutch in then release to get power to avoid that jerkiness.
@@onthebackwheel I think it's Baz66 on here that has a video of downloading updated mapping via a CFmoto app; It adds a tracking thingo to the bikes software so can't say I'm a fan but it looked like the fuel mapping worked
The bmw looks hot but the price will be the main issue. The bang for your buck from the CFMoto is incredible and that’s 50% of the conversation. I wouldn’t be throwing a $20k bike down the same trails as a $10k bike. Just saying.

I've seen a video of how to reset the throttle sensor on the 800 step by step, and wonder if it works on the 450 . Im also surprised you didn't fold the mirrors in . I would be worried about breaking them off if I didn't. Another great video though . Cheers mate
I saw that, some people have reported success, others not. You know what, I forgot about the mirrors, though I always leave my right one up so I can see if my GoPro is on or not
That was fast 19:15 . I feel like you have to have ridden that track a few times before?
Just my observation, you seemed to have more fun, and have a lot more positove things to say about the Hymi. Good riding though, you handled the conditions like a champ.
Hey you're not wrong. I liked the Himalayan more in base form, but can see the potential in this more
That oem front tyre in the wet mud is not confidence inspiring.
I agree. I don't mind the rear sliding around, not the front!
Hi Curtis. Great video mate...as always. Where are your riding at 1min 30 into the video. Want to take my KTM 790 up there. I'm still learning but that trail looks good. Cheers, Mike.
I believe that is Raaens Rd. So much riding there
@ thanks.
Impressive riding and cudos what you were able to pull of with that big girl.
I rode a similar wet single trail this weekend. The stock tyres are extremely slippery when it’s wet, and the jerky throttle on lower gears when I’m going on and off on technical terrains is annoying. I’d blip with the clutch in then release to get power to avoid that jerkiness.
Sounds like what I've been doing too mate. Hoping for a new map or I'll get it tuned
@@onthebackwheel I think it's Baz66 on here that has a video of downloading updated mapping via a CFmoto app; It adds a tracking thingo to the bikes software so can't say I'm a fan but it looked like the fuel mapping worked
Great video, the 450 mt is proving to be pretty tough. In the future, if you can get your hands on a AJP PR7 and make some content that would be cool.
That is definitely happening, I'm going to ride one of the ones in this video once they are all run in
@@onthebackwheel Fantastic, really looking forward to that!
Nice, seems pretty capable everywhere. Have to wonder though, sometimes i reckon that stock ht seat was pretty good.
It is great in that it's super low for touching
Full send ✌️😎.. cool
Cheers. Can't wait till it's run in and got knobbies 😈
@onthebackwheel definitely, I'm looking for a new set on mine also. Interested what you go with.
@@Tubed-i5n I can answer that already, Mitas enduro trail xt+. Look the goods, keen to try them out
@@onthebackwheel Cool ✌️😎
Strange how some of the MT 450’s have throttle/fueling issues and other ones don’t. No problem with mine at all.
Nice mate. It seems pretty hit and miss.
Seems the Nov 2024 build (with single exhaust outlet) have the fueling fixed from the factory.
@@MrDeepseadweller hearing mixed on that. We all have the same software so might just be bike dependent
When you know you know... gotta get me one of those aliexpress mini teneré!!! 😅😋😉
Do it!
Have you compaired it to the Himi 450 yet? Not sure if I missed that video.
Not yet mate, soon
I’ve been torn between this and the Kove 450 Rally, that BMW concept looks like a pleasant curveball as well.
The bmw looks hot but the price will be the main issue.
The bang for your buck from the CFMoto is incredible and that’s 50% of the conversation.
I wouldn’t be throwing a $20k bike down the same trails as a $10k bike.
Just saying.
@ yea fair point, the CF and Kove still lead, as realistically I am going to be more trail than road
@@vivos71 Kove and CFMoto are different bikes designed for different purposes, but they can cross over.
Kove is a rally bike that can hold enough fuel for a big ride, and the CFMoto is an adventure bike that can go ok on the dirt.
Choose your weapon.
What bikes did you learn on? Great motorcycle skills
I started on small dirt bikes when I was a kid. Didn't ride for years then back into enduro and street bikes in my 20's
Wondered what it would be like an a bike in glassy. Looks fine to me. I have knobbies and they would eat these tracks up.
Would be no issues mate. They get along just fine till it gets real technical
I've just discovered another glutton for punishment on the 450MT 😅
Cherry loves it mate 🍒
I wonder if crf300l rally, sitting in the same price range, would be capable of rolling on these technical terrain.
It would for sure, better even
Great watching this clip do you think my CRF450RL could come along, I love what I saw. ( My problem is Ks, 140 Max for me, I know sad )
Your 450RL would love these tracks. There are multiple service stations nearby so fuel range isn't an issue if you're riding to and from home
Of all the places to drop it, right in the water.
Hehe my thoughts too. Leather gloves certainly aren't the best choice 😂
@@onthebackwheel I was waiting for the dreaded cough and backfire but to the bikes credit, it didn't suck in any water despite water at seat height.
@ there were a couple of deep crossings. Wouldn't mind the air intake to be a bit higher
@@onthebackwheel yeah, the intake is pretty low but at the same time, looks to be out of harms way... Just don't drop it in deep water! (says every off road rider ever!)
I managed to drown my XR600 in about 600mm of water riding across a flooded paddock; Hit a submerged rock, bike stalled at the sudden stop, dropped it exhaust side so water filled the exhaust and cylinder; By myself, no tools as I was "going for a quick ride to check the fences"...was a long walk pushing the XR 5k's back to the house with wet MX boots on.
I LOVE Australia ❤️
A great place for adventure bike riding 😁
Either those stock tires are superb or you are an enduro savant...and I have a hunch the stock tires are poop, good riding! Looks like the fueling stumble struck right when you gassed it in the water hole...engine fell flat for a second and you front tire washed because of it...
It's just plenty of practice on the big bikes and I don't mind a bike moving underneath me 😂. You might be right there, caused me to get off balanced that little bit and then it was all over
Did it get a bit warm in that jacket?
No this one you're able to remove the sleeves and open it right up. Makes it good for the ride home on the road as it keeps all the armour. It's a Held Mojave
Wonder if a Himmy 450 could have got through that
Yeah for sure, I rode similar terrain on it. I can ride Cherry a bit faster
How do the Gaerne Fastback enduros fare in those wet crossings? I just got these and find them really stiff and thick for shifting gears. Maybe they will wear in a bit?
They do wear in. My first ride was awkward, then even by the second ride they felt natural. They most certainly aren't waterproof. They are ok to a point, then you've got wet feet. I'm wearing the Held Zeffiro pants ATM that goes over the boot and the boot section is waterproof. Certainly helps
Other than a content creation point of view I cannot imagine why you would trade in the 800 for this but, glad its working out for you bro.
70 - 80lbs is a good starting point.
@anxiousappliance this thing is not 80lbs lighter than the 800. Secondly you saw what he did with the 800 skill overcomes that. I ride my africa twin as hard as I want it's never been an issue. If your new or starting out learning your not gonna do better on this than you would a 800. Silly stat sheet racing
@@CaptLawrence The Suzuki 800 is just over 500lbs before farkling. This bike is around 430lbs. Anyway - seems you know what you are doing and can handle the big machines on dirt - his reasons are his reasons.
The 800 was a better bike for sure, really enjoying this though. Having a blast tweaking and modding it
@onthebackwheel fiddling and modifying a cheap bike can be so much fun and rewarding. About 10 years ago I had 2 bullet 500s that me and my wife had a ton of fun beating up all over the place.
Just wondering what pressures you are running, thanks
That's a very good question. I let them down slightly before the ride but didn't have a gauge. Wasn't super low as I didn't want a flat
It does better than a 200kg adventure bike ever should
Certainly well balanced
@ I love mine. Half crf300rally half tenere 700 all in a good way
Never seen one of those here ,interesting.
Where are you mate?
Washington State, I looked these up and they do sell these here ,riding positiin looks good ,it is amazing the places you could get that ,conti makes good tires for that just drop em to 15 lbs the twin duro.
@paulscountry456 from memory they are going for sale in the states very soon
Are those the factory tires?
Yes, just the stock ones
Got to get them out
@ you were doing really well on them! What brand are they? They look like Pirellis
@@jessrumblin tire is CST brand
Savage
Appreciate the video and review.
But you’re an experienced rider. We need to remember, even this lightweight middleweight adv is not appropriate to be riding on super technical terrain for the average rider.
I guarantee you’ll struggle.
FOr riding with those guys you might as well be on an enduro bike. These adv bikes arent made for that hard endduro.
The MT handled it well
No bs straight to the point CF Moto should have given you this bike as a long time term tester… You are advertising this bike very very well for them. Now all seriousness this bike under a rider with some skills like yourself unlike me, is perfect for what you have put her through… Very well priced bang for your buck Id say and way cheaper than a T7… A set of Motoz adventures on her and you may ride her to Arizona🤣🤣🤣🤣
Job well done sir. If I was in the market for a bike like this I would buy her right after your video ended…🫵rock
Thanks mate 😁
