Interfering with distress frequencies? One of the biggest "fake news" moments of our time.
If it was such a concern, why did they allocate Caroline's frequency (558) to Spectrum Radio????

It was 99% fake news. There was just one occasion when RNI first started in 1970 on 186 metres, when they were very close to a coastguard channel. The owners Meister & Bollier immediately apologised for any inconvenience and moved frequency straight away. RNI was quality station with a superb set-up. I can still visualise the multi-coloured boat today. Why it went to Libya to be finally sunk by Gadaffi's air force in a target practice exercise is still a mystery to me.

Peter Philips - what a truly high-class presenter he was on Caroline. That superb voice, and perfect diction. He puts today's BBC standards to shame. Where is he now?

It was frequently suggested that the pirates interfered with other marine operations. Despite the fact such stations as Caroline and Laser operated on a totally different waveband!

+Frank Curry, I hope you have heard Radio Caroline in the 90s on analogue satellite and the zeros up to today on digital and on the internet. The Seventies and Eighties at sea were fantastic days and even beat my memories before August 14 1967.

Hi Richard, Just found your comment. I have heard Radio Caroline online recently. - But not in the 90s. Shame it can"t broadcast full power from the ship. I visited the Ross Revenge in 1994. Had a great day!

Why is the audio only on the left channel? I feel like I've gone deaf in one ear.

frank curry AM (MW) is rapidly approaching freeband status in Western Europe with only UK and Spain still using it. Perhaps they could consider C-QUAM stereo now all the anoraks have SDRs to decode it.

John Robertson "Interference to emergency services". Will go down in history as the prototype for Project Fear and post-truth political brainwashing.

I did "The Pirate Radio show, on a certain hospital radio, here in Portsmouth, I featured Laser 558, Radio Caroline, and Wonderful Radio London BIG L. With HUNDREDS of origianal jingles, After the new management learnt of other radio stations, taking my show, and, PROVEN, 15 MILLION "PLUS" LISTENERS, they cut off the internet. On this show, I was interviewing a MASSIVE STAR. I THINK IT WAS JEALOUSY, most of the, "So called presenters" get, maybe, 5 to 100 listeners. THEY STINK!!!!!
