I don't fire it very often because it's such a pain the ass to breakdown and reassemble. Still, even with all it's issues, I still prefer it over the 9 mm.

Well damn, neither have mine since they were purchased. Put plenty of rounds through and a few deer down with a Springfield 30-06, and by the amount I spent on .44 Mag ammo that I fired it must be several thousand rounds and again, it hasn't killed anything but a lot of paper targets, empty soda cans, and some semi-rotted pumpkins and watermelons. AND I AM ANTISOCIAL! I just want left alone. LOL

Going down the list of things on the paperwork for buying a gun, I suddenly understand why the Leftist Hollywood types are so salty about guns; most of Hollywood would be violating at least one of the check boxes that if filled in as "yes" instantly denies the sale.
Domestic violence offender, use of illegal substances, not a US citizen, renounced US citizenship at any time, etc.
Basically, most of Hollywood would likely not pass the background checks. That, and they LOVE their rape culture, and the thought of young impressionable starlets being able to actually resist rape is just too much for the Harvey Weinstiens to handle, so they push the anti-gun agenda.
Best way to promote rape culture is to disarm women. Heck, to a rapist, a rape whistle is mood music, a stun gun is foreplay, and pepper spray is kink.

Excellent point. I left my safe open one day just to see and my gun didn't try to sneak out either. It was a trap because I had one eye open and was watching the whole time so no one was in danger and it had blanks so it couldn't hurt anyone if it did escape.

You know it’s odd the two weapons that I had purchased in the early 1980s for patrol as a cop, the M1 carbine semi automatic not fully automatic, and my Smith and Wesson model 5904 with an 18 round magazine are both now illegal in California where I purchased them legally.
Colorado does not have a problem with either one of them and that’s where I now live.

I am a conservative. I think many people are confusing the left with liberals though. If you don't know the difference.... I urge you to look it up. The LEFT is the enemy of America. Even though i respect the IRA i use them as one of my arguments as why banning guns wont stop people from getting guns. I mean in Ireland i know its illegal to have pretty much any gun and which also implies that gunshops dont exist there. If you had a city like Chicago in the UK it wouldn't matter. They have the strictest gun laws there and the gang violence always churns out shooting victims. Criminals are criminals, I'm glad to have a weapon to protect myself. Not because I'm afraid. Because I like to be proactive protecting my family. I'd be lost without them. It's not the wild west out here like the media tries to portray, but comparing America and UK gun laws is a fruitless argument. It's two different countries, different citizens, different mindsets, different cultures all together. It's like comparing apple to an orange. Im in Texas by the way, licensed to carry, went through the training/education/multiple background checks and lots and lots of $$ to get it. I conceal carry my trusty 1911. Interestingly despite the Troubles Northern Ireland has not banned handguns, neither has the Isle of Wight if I remember correctly. In the UK proper you can still purchase rifles , shotguns , and antique handguns. I believe most of the weapons used by the IRA, if not locally produced were smuggled in from at various times the U.S., Germany, and Libya.

Something very funny happened to me at the grocery store when I was standing in line waiting to buy groceries. I carry a small handgun in my back pocket and a woman behind me saw the handgun in my pocket. She started screaming, THIS MAN HAS A GUN!!!! Everyone looks at her oddly, until someone said, yeah so what? The grocery store and had to call the police to stop her from screaming that I had a gun on me. She was arrested for creating a disturbance.
Your second amendment right is the only one with conditions and a requirement to subject to a background check that you pay for. Oh, and you must renew your permit and pay for that too. It’s also the only right in MA that you loose if you get a DUI.
I live in Montana. Almost as free as it gets. None of that applies.
Umm... Pretty sure that if you are convicted of any felony in the US you lose your right to possess a fire arm.... As well as a few others, like the right to vote and such.

According to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, "Felons whose convictions have been set-aside or expunged, or for which the person has been pardoned or has had civil rights restored" are not considered "convicted" and thus they would not be prohibited from owning a gun.
Pardoned like the convicted terrorist Bill Clinton pardoned.
Individuals convicted of a felony are ineligible to vote while incarcerated, on parole, or on probation. Voting rights are automatically restored two years after the completion of all supervised release (except if convicted of treason). Ex-offenders should re-register to vote.
So just hang low for a while after you're off the hook and presto- voting is back baby!

I wish I were CNC machinist certified/trained so that I could make parts for guns out of solid pieces of metal. As it is at least I can get the 80% lower receiver okay and use the guide kits to cut and drill them to completion, and then get the other parts to put it together. Ammo right now is really hard to get, I need a re-loading press, propellant, slugs/heads, and spent casings...

They might have raped, robbed, stabbed, beat me worse." But I took a lot of reports from victims that told me, "I wish I had had a gun so I could have defended myself."
In 1989 virtually all of My Australian Neighbours Knew that I was a Keeper of Guns, because they frequently saw Me transferring Guns into and out of My Car, whilst it was parked on the Street outside My House.
In 2019 None of My Neighbours Know that I am a Keeper of Guns, because they Never see Me transferring Guns into and out of My Car, because now those transfers occur in My Rear Garden, behind Closed (& Locked) Gates.
